Laurent’s path is unusually grounded in the factory reality: starting out far from the usual expat circuit in Shandong, taking roles he felt “undersized” for, leading equipment transfers from France to China, and then becoming the first employee on the ground for a greenfield factory build in Suzhou — which he scaled and led for 14 years.
