Faith Mariah draws on her experience coaching hundreds of business owners and generating $900,000 in online sales to argue that 90-day planning cycles solve two critical problems: strategy hopping and energy leaks. Strategy hopping occurs when entrepreneurs abandon a tactic (like TikTok marketing) after 3-5 weeks due to flagging belief rather than genuine data, pivoting to something new like Pinterest. This pattern prevents ever reaching results because most strategies require pushing through an initial gap where nothing seems to work. Energy leaks happen when entrepreneurs continuously second-guess their approach - should I do TikTok or Pinterest, this product or that one - spending mental resources on indecision rather than execution. A 90-day plan forces all major decisions upfront (what to sell, which platforms, posting frequency) so energy concentrates entirely on execution. This timeframe creates enough urgency to prevent procrastination while allowing sufficient time to gather meaningful data. Even negative data - proof a strategy won't work - is valuable. Mariah offers a paid workshop called "Plan Like a Boss" to walk entrepreneurs through the 90-day planning process and teach mindset management techniques to actually follow through on plans.
A 90-day plan creates urgency and prevents months of procrastination, while still providing enough time to gather meaningful data on whether a strategy works. A one-year plan feels so long that you can take months off and still hit goals, reducing the pressure to execute consistently.
Strategy hopping is abandoning a tactic (like TikTok) after 3-5 weeks due to low belief rather than actual performance data, then switching to something else like Pinterest. Most strategies require pushing through an initial gap where nothing seems to happen, so constantly switching strategies means you never reach the results on the other side.
By deciding all major choices upfront - what to sell, which platforms, posting frequency, launch timing - you eliminate the ongoing mental drain of deciding "should I do this or that." This redirects all that decision-making energy toward executing your chosen plan instead.
Write your 90-day end date in your planner and commit to following your plan regardless of doubts. When your brain wants to switch strategies due to low belief, remind yourself that you can reassess and make data-driven changes at day 90, not before.
Negative data - proof that a strategy won't work for you - is better than perpetual uncertainty because you can confidently move on rather than wondering forever if you should have stuck with it longer.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode centers on one core idea - the 90-day planning cycle - repeated across multiple angles (urgency, strategy-hopping prevention, energy leaks, decision-making). While the reframing of belief-driven pivots as 'strategy hopping' has some merit, there is minimal novel insight per minute; most content is motivational reinforcement of familiar concepts (focus, commit, gather data, iterate). A B2B operator already familiar with execution discipline or sprint planning would find little new.
Strategy hopping. Looks like we pick a strategy. So we're going to do TikTok. Great. Love it... But then like around week three, week four, week five, we stop thinking about how our plan is... And then the next thing you know, it's like, oh, let me do Pinterest.
Making a decision to change platforms, change your strategy, change what you're doing because your belief is low is not a good reason.
The 90-day planning cycle is a well-established business practice; OKRs, sprints, and quarterly planning are standard in business literature and practice. The framing of platform-switching as emotion-driven rather than data-driven is intuitive but not novel. The 'strategy hopping' terminology is somewhat fresh, but the underlying insight - that jumping strategies before gathering data is costly - is conventional wisdom in execution-focused communities. No contrarian or first-principles thinking is evident.
If you make a plan for a year, I don't really have that sense of urgency and my feet are not on the fire.
you have to go through that gap to get to the result on the other side. If you are never willing to go through that gap and you're constantly changing your strategy, you will never get anywhere.
This is a solo episode by the host, Faith Mariah, who claims $900k in online sales and coaches 'hundreds of people.' There is no external guest, reducing the dimension to N/A by format. However, the host's credentials are self-reported without third-party validation, verifiable scale data, or evidence of operating a B2B business; she appears focused on coaching and course sales, not building a substantial product or service business.
After coaching hundreds of people and doing $900,000 of sales online, this is what I do with people on my calls
I'm doing plan like a Boss this Saturday, 9am to 4pm Tickets are $10
The episode relies heavily on anecdote and general principle with almost no concrete data, named examples, timelines, or metrics. The only specificity is a workshop sales pitch ($10 tickets, Saturday, 9am-4pm) and a vague revenue claim ($900k, no timeframe or context). No case studies, client results, platform performance data, or benchmarks are provided to substantiate the 90-day strategy's effectiveness. Advice remains abstract: 'test it,' 'get data,' 'follow your plan.'
After coaching hundreds of people and doing $900,000 of sales online
At the end of 90 days, April 1st, you guys can look and see if you wanna do Pinterest and make a strategic business decision based on data.
This is a monologue with no guest and no host-guest dialogue. There are no follow-up questions, no pushback, no exploration of edge cases, and no genuine inquiry. The speaker repeatedly affirms her own framing without testing assumptions or inviting real disagreement. The tone is motivational and directive rather than investigative. No tension, curiosity, or Socratic method is evident. This format is fundamentally ill-suited to the conversational craft dimension.
Everybody needs to listen up. I'm gonna give you guys my number one tip.
You're like, Nope, we're doing TikTok for 90 days.

If you've been trying to work on your online business but you feel like it's stuck and it's not working and I don't know what to do, I don't know where to focus on. I got you. Everybody needs to listen up. I'm gonna give you guys my number one tip.
After coaching hundreds of people and doing $900,000 of sales online, this is what I do with people on my calls when they come on my coaching calls. And it's like we're all over the place. We don't know what to do. The first thing I'm gonna do is let's make a plan for the next 90 days.
It doesn't need to be a business plan forever. If you have a big vision and you know what you want to do, that's awesome. Let's break it up into smaller steps. If you have no idea what to do, that's awesome.
You don't know what your business is going to be yet. That's a fun adventure to be on, but we need to start moving even if you don't know exactly what it needs to be yet. So we're still going to make a 90 day plan. The reason I think this works so well is it keeps you focused so it doesn't give you as much time to like, so screw around as a whole year plan.
If I make a plan for a year, I don't really have that sense of urgency and my feet are not on the fire. So I could take months and months off and still have plenty of time to try to go hit that goal. The 90 day goals keeps you really focused. You don't have that much time to mess around.
But I do think it's long enough to get some really valuable data. So one of the problems that this solves that I think is game changing for people is it makes you stop strategy hopping. What do I mean by strategy hopping? I'm going to tell you.
You guys can tell me in the comments if you've ever done this. I know I have. Strategy hopping. Looks like we pick a strategy.
So we're going to do TikTok. Great. Love it. We're tiktoking.
We're learning TikTok. We're posting on TikTok. We're excited, we're thinking this is going to work. This is great.
It's working for other people, it's going to work for me. I can do this. It's awesome. But then like around week three, week four, week five, we stop thinking about how our plan is.
So Great. And we start thinking, I don't know if this is working. I don't know if this is gonna work. Maybe it's never gonna work.
Nothing is happening. Should I even be doing this? Is this a waste of time? And then the next thing you know, it's like, oh, let me do Pinterest.
That's not a strategic business decision, right? All that happened was your belief dropped, and then you changed your strategy to bring your belief back up. And what I want you to do is we're gonna make the 90 day plan. You make all your decisions ahead of time, and then you're gonna commit to keeping your thoughts lined up with your plan for 90 days.
So that means if my brain starts being like, I don't know if this is working, maybe I should do Pinterest. You're like, Nope, we're doing TikTok for 90 days. I'm always like, you guys can write it in your planner. Like at the end of 90 days, April 1st, you guys can look and see if you wanna do Pinterest and make a strategic business decision based on data.
That's one thing. Making a decision to change platforms, change your strategy, change what you're doing because your belief is low is not a good reason. And the reason why is because for most people, there's a gap, meaning you are going to start on a platform or start a sales strategy or start a marketing strategy, and it is not going to work for a period of time. You have to go through that period of time to get to the result on the other side.
If you are never willing to go through that gap and you're constantly changing your strategy, you will never get anywhere. So pick a strategy. Make as many decisions as you can. Besides the strategy hopping, the other big thing I see is energy leaking.
Deciding what to do. And what I mean by that is when our brains start being like, should I do this, should I do that? Should I do this, should do that? I could do Pinterest, I could do TikTok, I could do this sale, I could do that sale.
I could make this product. I could make that product. That is an energy leak. What you want to do with your 90 day plan is make all your decisions ahead of time.
So. So we're going to decide what are we going to sell, when are we going to sell, what are we going to focus on, what platforms are we going to be on, how often are we going to post, we're going to make all those decisions. And then all of the energy we were spending being like, should I do this, should I do that? We're going to take all that energy and focus it on executing our plan.
Think how much energy you will get back. And then every time your brain starts to want to go to confusion, starts to want to think about changing the plan. Your job is to just stay focused on the plan. Stay focused on the plan.
At the end of 90 days, you can have a whole list of ideas you've had and things you want to try. We can go through them based on data and decide what you want to test next. But I really encourage you, pick something and test it for 90 days. It is not a waste of time.
Even if it doesn't work, we need to get that data. I'm always like, if a strategy is not going to work for me, I want to know that yesterday. I don't want to wait around being like, I don't know if it's going to work, maybe it's not going to work. It's like, I need to know, like, we need to test it.
So go out there, test it. Go get some data. Even if it's data that this isn't a strategy you want to do or it's a strategy that you don't think is working the way you want and you want to do something else, that's good data to have. It's good to know that I'm laughing, but this is what our brains do, right?
We all do this in our own little brains. So that's it. I hope you guys will make a 90 day plan. If you need help or you want me to walk you through it, I'm doing plan like a Boss this Saturday, 9am to 4pm Tickets are $10 and you can upgrade to VIP for an additional $10.
So $20 total. I will walk you through with my mastermind, the exact process for 90 days. We'll make all those decisions ahead of time. I'll give you the mindset tools so you can actually keep your brain on track and follow your plan.
Plans don't do any good if you don't follow them. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has made a plan and not followed it. Yeah, we're not doing that. We're gonna make a plan and then we're gonna put a lot of energy into focusing our brain and managing our mindset to actually be able to execute your plan right.
If you're not executing the plan, it's not a problem with the strategy or the plan. It's a strategy with how you're thinking and a lack of managing your mind. So I can give you those tools. We'll be doing that on Saturday if you wanna come.
I'm really excited about it. I'm making all new stuff and like it's gonna be really fun. If you don't wanna stay the whole time, you guys will get the replay. So you can do it if 10 to 4 is too long.
You can do it in chunks or you can stay the who it all out with us. Either way is great and I hope to see you there. I hope you guys have a great rest of your day. Go make your 90 day plan.
I'll talk to you soon. Bye guys.
