Five dimensions, 20 points each
Deborah Kazowski tackles the critical yet often misunderstood concept of life recalibration - a practice she argues should happen regularly, not just during crises. Drawing from her own experience with a rare neurological eye condition that forced her to completely rethink her fitness and health approach, Kazowski positions recalibration not as failure but as intelligent adaptation to life's shifting seasons. She walks listeners through a five-step framework: reflect on what's working and what's draining you, reconnect with your current values (not yesterday's), release commitments and identities that no longer serve you, make small intentional adjustments (going to bed earlier, saying no, having difficult conversations), and repeat the process continuously. This episode is essential for executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders who feel stuck on autopilot, maintaining old goals out of habit or fear of judgment rather than genuine alignment. Kazowski challenges the myth that you need permission or a perfect plan to pivot - clarity comes through action, not overthinking. Perfect for anyone wrestling with whether their calendar matches their values.
Recalibration is the practice of intentionally realigning your life with your current values and direction, not just when things break or during a crisis. It should happen regularly - daily, weekly, or monthly - as a lifelong practice rather than a one-time event, allowing you to make small course corrections consistently like a GPS recalculating when off course.
The five steps are: (1) take time to reflect on what energizes versus drains you, (2) reconnect with your current values right now, (3) release what no longer fits including old commitments and identities, (4) create small intentional adjustments like better sleep or setting boundaries, and (5) repeat the process continuously as a lifelong practice.
Kazowski experienced a rare neurological eye condition that forced her to change her fitness and health strategies completely; she couldn't maintain her previous pace, so she had to adjust her approach while staying connected to her vision of health, ultimately reaching new personal bests in strength training through different methods.
Fear of what others will think, attachment to how success should look, shame about not being further ahead, and staying so busy that they never stop to question whether they're running in the right direction - essentially prioritizing others' judgments and outdated plans over actual alignment.
She argues that clarity comes through action, not overthinking; you don't need the perfect plan or permission to make changes, just the courage to check your direction and take one intentional step, because small shifts create powerful momentum over time.

The entire episode is a string of generic self-help platitudes with zero B2B-specific or non-obvious claims. A 5-step 'recalibration' framework consisting of 'reflect, reconnect with values, release, make small adjustments, rinse and repeat' offers nothing a smart operator couldn't find on any motivational poster.
recalibration does not mean that you're lost. It's a sign that you're actually paying attention
When your GPS realizes you're off course, it doesn't shame you. It doesn't tell you you failed. It simply says recalculating.
Every idea is a recycled self-help staple: the GPS recalibration metaphor, 'no is a full sentence,' growth requiring subtraction, and a closing Gandhi misattribution. There is no contrarian or first-principles thinking of any kind.
no is a full sentence. My friends, you do not need to justify, argue, defend or explain anything
Not everything that got you here will get you there
There is no guest at all. This is a solo monologue by a motivational speaker and executive coach who demonstrates no B2B operational credibility in the transcript itself, sharing only personal gym and health anecdotes.

Deborah Kazowski: Welcome back to the Millionaire Woman Show. I'm your host, Deborah Kazowski, and today we are talking about something I believe every person needs to hear. And this is about recalibrate your life. It is something I've been thinking about recently. Um, just reflecting on my health journey. Also in the midst of writing my thesis paper for my master's, feeling like I've got so consumed into that that some of the balls that I had in the air feel like they're dropping around me. Um, and then being able to pick them back up and toss them back into the ring and get back into the game with grace. So here's the thing I want to. We're going to talk about recalibrating your life. And sometimes it's a matter of seeing that our friend groups are shifting. Um, the people that we surround ourselves shift as we take on new interests, as we have new growth. Um, we might even be turned onto new hobbies and experiences that we never thought were something that we had in our purview before. So, so many things have happened for me in the past few years, and I know that they have happened for you, too. Um, it could be that your kids graduated from high school, could be that they've graduated from university. Um, there's lots of life transitions. Maybe you've gotten divorced, maybe you've gotten married. There's so many things that ask us, uh, to recalibrate. So today I thought this would be a great topic to really reflect on, but really think about. And you may need to play this podcast multiple times because I think this is so, so important, because there are times when, you know, you think you've failed and you actually didn't fail. It's just that life's changed and your priorities change, your vision expands, and recalibration does not mean that you're lost. It's a sign that you're actually paying attention. So give yourself a hand, pat on the back that you are starting to pay attention to some of the things in your life and you're starting to be mindful of them. Have you ever found yourself wondering, how did I Get here. Not necessarily in a bad way, but maybe you wake up one day and you realize that you've been living on autopilot. You've been checking the boxes. You've been fulfilling the responsibilities, meeting expectations and doing all the things you're supposed to do. But something just feels off. You feel disconnected. You feel restless. You feel like there's more. And if that's you, this episode is for you. Now I want to share something that I've learned along my own health journey, life transitions and challenges. We need to recalibrate more often than we think. Most people think recalibration is something to do when things are broken, that you're having a, uh, midlife crisis. Well, I'm here to tell you I disagree. I believe recalibration is something you do when you want to stay aligned. Think about it. When your GPS realizes you're off course, it doesn't shame you. It doesn't tell you you failed. It simply says recalculating. Recalculating. And life is no different. Sometimes we need to stop and ask ourselves, am I still heading the direction I want to go? Is this still what matters to me? Is this truly the life I want to create? And too many people spend years moving through the motion. Years, I'm telling you, not days, not weeks, but years. They keep doing what they've always done because it's familiar, it's comfortable. They stay in routines that no longer serve them or light them up. They continue carrying on commitments that continue to drain them. They live according to the old goals that no longer fit the person they want to become. And before you know it, they've drifted far away from what they truly wanted. Is that you m. Well, today I want to just share with you this message of recalibration. This is why it's so important. Some of the old goals that we used to have, they're no longer excite us. We no longer want to pursue them. Could be maturity, could be change of life stages. It could be that just the drive you had was extinguished. And it's not because you can't do it. It's because it's no longer important to you. For me, recalibration became, uh, necessary when my health had a change. I couldn't approach it the same way I had before. The strategies that I used before no longer work, you know, and I've shared, you know, different parts of my journey. And, um, you know, with having this rare neurological eye condition, the eyelids close whenever they want. So sometimes going for a walk is hard Work. Um, I've sprained my ankles on different occasions. I. I have now been running, so I've really built up the stamina. And now I'm getting back into full regular workouts at the gym. Stronger than I've ever been before. My friends, I actually bench pressed a personal best the other day, was so impressed with myself. And then the same thing. Um, today I did another personal best. And it's really about looking at your personal best and thinking about, is this what excites me? Is this not what excites me? And really coming into more of a reflection and knowing that I couldn't do the same things. My pace had to change, which was frustrating for me. Um, you know, and I just hosted, co hosted a retreat on slowing down. And people still laugh and look at me and they're like you teaching people about slowing down. And I have to tell you, Italy has a way of helping you do that, right? Slowing down and asking yourself what truly matters, what is really important to you. The routines had to change. And here's what I've discovered. When one path closes, another opens. Recalibration isn't about giving up. Because I've never felt like I've given up or surrendered or waved a white flag. It's about adjusting. It's about finding a new way forward. It's about asking what is possible now. You know, many of us resist recalibration, and I think it's because we fear what other people will think. We're attached to the idea what success would look like in a certain way. And we think, oh, I should be further ahead. Oh, should I should be able to do this like I used to? This is not how I planned it. And I will tell you, those questions did come up. Those statements did come up for me, and I started shooting on myself. And shooting on yourself doesn't help you move into action. It doesn't help you take the actions that align with the person you're meant to be. That shames you, puts you in a place of guilt. But life isn't about rigidly following the plan, saying A to B, because, as you know, life has detours. And we meet new people, we get redirected to different tasks, different opportunities, and often it turns out way better than we expected. It's about responding to reality while staying connected to your vision. One of the questions I ask myself regularly, is this what I truly want? Simple but powerful. And sometimes the answer can surprise us. Sometimes we're pursuing goals because someone else thought they were important. Sometimes we're holding on to habits because we've always done them. Sometimes we're staying busy because busyness feels productive. And I'll even add that we can stay busy so we don't have time to be alone with our own thoughts. Are you that person? Yet none of those things guarantee fulfillment. The challenge is that many people never stop long enough to ask the question. They're so busy running that they never check whether they're running in the right direction. And sometimes they're running on empty. So how do we recalibrate? Let me share a simple process. Step one. Take time to reflect. You cannot recalibrate without awareness. You need to take an inventory. You need to ask yourself what's working, what's not working, what energizes me, what drains me, where am I feeling aligned? And where am I feeling resistance? You can do this daily, weekly, or monthly. The key is creating the space to think. I know people don't do this very often, is taking time to think. And when you take time to think, you expand your vision for yourself. You start seeing different perspectives of, perhaps there was false narratives, perhaps you were overthinking on things, and you uncover some of the, um, untruths. But when you do this daily, weekly, or monthly, the key is creating that space to think. And many of our answers are already inside of us. Just that we haven't taken time to listen, right? Because we're moving on to the next thing. So that moves us to step two. Reconnect with your values. What matters most to you right now? Notice that I said right now. Not five years ago, not 10 years ago, but right now. Because those values can evolve as we move through different seasons of our lives. And maybe family has become more important. Maybe your health has become a priority. Maybe freedom, contribution, adventure, or growth is actually calling you. When your calendar and your values don't match, frustration follows. Alignment creates momentum. So that leads us to step three. Release what no longer fits. And this can be challenging, my friends. You see, because we got so comfortable, or we think that things should last a lifetime, sometimes this can be really difficult. And sometimes we need to let go of old expectations, old stories, old identities. Because sometimes we need to release commitments that no longer serve us. Not everything that got you here will get you there, where you want to go next. Not everything that got you here is going to get you to the next level. There's a whole book that with Dr. M. Marshall Goldsmith. Phenomenal book. So you've really got to focus on what's going to get us to the Next level. So growth often requires subtraction before addition. So look at the areas of your life where you're spending time in old identities, old Personas, circles of friends that are not elevating you. And no one's growing in that circle. And it's not that you can't spend time with these people. You need to shift into new groups of people. Add, ah, new people. You know, you're subtracting where you're putting yourself, but you're putting yourself in new areas. When was the last time you went to a different networking group? When was the last time you inter went and took up a hobby or went to a class where you knew no one and you didn't have to take anyone with you? You went by yourself. See, step four is about creating small, intentional adjustments. Many people think transformation requires a massive change that big leap. But you know what? It often doesn't matter. Sometimes recalibration starts with going to bed earlier, really getting that sleep, taking a daily walk, getting those 10,000 steps in creating some non negotiables could be having a difficult conversation, something that's been gnawing on your heart but you haven't yet addressed. And sometimes it's saying no. And uh, no is a full sentence. My friends, you do not need to justify, argue, defend or explain anything. Setting a boundary, starting a project that you've been postponing, writing one page of that book, that blog post, whatever it is, making the one phone call. Tiny shifts create powerful momentum over time. And step five, rinse and repeat the process. Recalibration is not a one time event. It's a lifelong practice. The most successful people I know are constantly evaluating, learning, adjusting and growing. They don't wait until they're burnt out to say, oh my gosh, I really need to change things. They make small course corrections consistently and that's what keeps them moving toward the life they truly want. I want to leave you with a challenge. I want you to take 10 minutes today, grab a journal, find a quiet space, and then ask yourself these questions. Is the life I am living aligned, uh, with the life I want? What is one thing I need more of? What is one thing I need less of? Uh, and what am I tolerating that I need to address? And what my, what would my best life require of me right now? Then choose one action, just one. Because clarity comes through action, not overthinking. And remember, you do not have to have everything figured out. And this is something that I think holds people back more than it needs to. Oh, Well, I don't know this and I don't know that, and maybe this person knows more. Um, start. Choose one thing and just move into action. Because clarity comes through action, not overthinking. And remember, you do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need to have the perfect plan. You do not need permission. You need to simply have the courage to check your direction and make an adjustment when necessary. Because your life isn't meant to be lived on autopilot. It's meant to be lived intentionally. And my friends, there is nothing more satisfying to me than finding out that you have been living your best life. You have been challenging yourself, moving from mediocrity to really up, leveling how you see yourself and where you want to go. And if something feels off, please don't ignore it. I'll always tell you, check to see if there's anything medically going on. But what I'd like you to do is consider recalibration, realignment, refocus, and trust yourself enough to make changes that will move you closer to life you truly want. I want to thank you for joining me here today on the Millionaire Woman show. And until next time, remember, small shifts create extraordinary results.
