This episode dives deep into practical Claude automation workflows designed specifically for Instagram creators juggling both business and creative responsibilities. Speaker B walks through 12 concrete use cases: automatically organizing saved inspiration posts from Instagram, TikTok, and Dropbox into categorized Google Sheets; generating story poll questions tied to scheduled feed posts via Metricool; tracking 90-day repost cycles and using Instagram analytics to identify top performers; building a custom comment/DM response app with voice cloning via Claude Code; translating viral trends into niche-specific content ideas; creating carousel templates in Canva for quick automated assembly; identifying collaboration opportunities through competitor analysis; automating file organization across Google Drive and Dropbox; and preparing batch shooting day logistics with shot lists and scripts. The episode positions Claude (particularly Claude Cowork) as a handler of repetitive, time-consuming admin tasks - saving screenshots, pulling analytics, drafting responses - while explicitly cautioning against letting AI fully replace the creator's taste and voice. The argument centers on preservation of personal brand differentiation while reclaiming time from low-value work. Perfect for Instagram operators managing content at scale without dedicated teams.

Key takeaways

  • →Automate routine tasks like saved post organization, repost reminders, and file management to reclaim time for actual creative work, not to replace creative decision-making entirely.
  • →Use Claude to generate story poll ideas tied to your scheduled posts, analyze competitor content for collaboration angles, and create shot lists for efficient batch filming days.
  • →Build custom automation workflows (via Claude Code or Cowork) to handle comment/DM responses at scale while learning from your past voice and communication style using a Living Voice document.
  • →Carousel creation, trend adaptation, and idea collection can all be automated by pointing Claude at multiple inspiration sources (TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, screenshot folders) to consolidate inspiration into one location.
  • →The biggest risk in 2026 for creators is voluntarily replacing themselves entirely with AI - instead leverage AI as a tool to handle scheduling, organizing, and administrative work while preserving your unique creativity and brand voice.

Questions this episode answers

How can I automatically organize my saved Instagram and TikTok posts for content inspiration?

Point Claude Cowork at your saved folders on Instagram, TikTok, and any screenshot folders in Dropbox or Google Drive. Claude can pull those links daily, categorize them by format, effort level, and what inspired you, and add them to a Google Sheet for easy reference. For deeper analysis, you can integrate Claude with Poppy AI to break down post format and performance metrics.

What is the Repost Radar automation and why does it matter?

It's an automation that tracks when each of your posts has passed its 90-day repost window (since best practice is posting each piece 3 times spaced 90 days apart). Claude can pull your Instagram analytics to identify your top performers and alert you when they're due for a repost, solving the problem of juggling multiple scheduled posts.

How can I use Claude to handle my Instagram comments and DMs faster?

You can build a custom app using Claude Code that pulls all comments and DMs into one place, ranks them by priority (potential client vs. existing client issue vs. casual hi), and drafts responses using your voice based on your Living Voice document and past messaging patterns. You approve, edit, or skip each response - and the app learns from your corrections over time.

How do I batch my content filming more efficiently using Claude?

Have Claude create a shot list and batch day prep sheet that organizes your filming into low-hanging-fruit items first (5-10 min shoots) followed by harder productions. It can organize by location, outfit, camera angle, script, and content type so you know exactly where to be, what to wear, and what to say - maximizing output during your 1-2 weekly batch filming days.

Can Claude identify collaboration opportunities with other creators?

Yes - give Claude a list of creators you want to collaborate with and it will visit their pages, analyze their recent posts and captions, determine their zone of genius, then identify overlaps with your content. Claude then creates carousel ideas based on that Venn diagram of mutual expertise that you can propose to the collaborator.

Insight Density

10 / 20

The episode delivers roughly a dozen concrete workflow ideas for AI-assisted Instagram management, a few of which (ManyChat timing automation, collab Venn diagram) are genuinely novel and actionable. However, significant portions are sponsor reads, throat-clearing, self-promotion, and ideas so generic ('use Claude to organize your files') that they add little value to a savvy operator.

Claude Cowork does that for me once a week. I tell Cloud Cowork, hey, here are my 7 or 17 or 3 posts in the next 7 days that require a Manychat DM automation to be turned on. Then 15 minutes before the post goes live it will go into Manychat and it will automatically turn on the next post or reel function.
I had Claude Cowork create a bunch of carousels for me based off of essentially a Venn diagram of my content and the person who I wanted to collaborate with's content.

Originality

9 / 20

The ManyChat scheduling-window problem and its automated solution is a genuinely original, first-hand operational insight. The collab post Venn diagram idea is also fresh. But the majority of ideas (AI organizes saved posts, AI drafts story polls, AI labels files) are already well-circulated AI-workflow advice, and the 'don't let AI replace you' framing is a common 2025 take.

the biggest danger for creators in 2026 is not being replaced by AI. It's voluntarily replacing themselves with AI.
I had Claude Cowork create a bunch of carousels for me based off of essentially a Venn diagram of my content and the person who I wanted to collaborate with's content.

Guest Caliber

6 / 20

This is a solo episode with no guest; the host is a social media educator and content creator operating at the small-business level. He has real hands-on experience with the tools he describes, but he is not a senior B2B operator and his frame of reference is personal Instagram growth rather than enterprise or even mid-market scale.

Every single day, at least once a day for the last two or three months, I've gone up to my wife Tay at some point and said I have to tell you what Claude Cowork is doing for me right now.
I don't know how to code. I don't know how to do any of this myself. I just went into Claude code and I told it my problem.

Specificity & Evidence

11 / 20

The host names specific tools (ManyChat, Metricool, Poppy AI, Canva, Dropbox, Claude Code, Google Sheets) and provides some concrete operational numbers. What is missing is any outcome data - follower growth, conversion rates, revenue impact - that would allow a listener to calibrate the real business value of these automations.

I usually have anywhere from 5 to 10 Instagram posts going up every single day
I probably only get to about 20% of my messages and comments on Instagram on a daily basis

Conversational Craft

5 / 20

This is an uninterviewed solo monologue; no conversational craft is structurally possible. Within the monologue itself the host is reasonably organised (numbered list, logical flow) but meanders frequently, repeats ideas across adjacent items, and buries practical detail under personal anecdote and sponsor reads.

And I brought up carousels a few times in this episode because carousels are one of the most slept on ways to grow on Instagram.
But if you found today helpful, don't forget to hit that like button. And as always, happy networking There.

Episode notes

In today's episode, Brock Johnson covers 12 ways to use Claude as a practical tool inside your Instagram workflow in 2026. These aren't generic AI tips - each one is built around a specific, recurring task that most creators either avoid or spend too much time on, from comment management and trend adaptation to content repurposing and collab outreach. Brock walks through each use case in detail, including using Claude to mine your saved posts for content patterns, generating Story engagement prompts before a feed post drops, tracking which past Reels are due for a repost, drafting comment replies in your voice, translating trending formats into your niche, splitting long-form ideas into carousel slides, organizing ideas and files, building batch day prep sheets, and drafting personalized collab pitches. If you're already using Claude for writing, this episode is about putting it to work deeper inside your content system. Speaker A: With Wealthfront, you can start building for long term financial success by using their tools to help manage and grow your money. More about them later. With today's sponsor, Shopify, there is nothing

Speaker B: standing between your idea and starting a real business.

Speaker A: I'll tell you more about Shopify later.

Speaker B: Every single day, at least once a day for the last two or three months, I've gone up to my wife Tay at some point and said I have to tell you what Claude Cowork is doing for me right now. To say that I'm obsessed would be an understatement because having a tool that's

Speaker A: able to work for me and execute

Speaker B: tasks and check things off my to do list 247 as someone who is on one hand a business owner and at the same time a, uh, creative has been such a game changer. And that's why I believe that Cloud Cowork is such an essential tool for the modern small business owner. Because as a small business owner nowadays you have to kind of play both sides of the field. On one hand you still have to do the normal business owner stuff of managing your staff, if you have a staff, being in meetings, replying to 50 million emails.

Speaker A: And on the other hand, because of

Speaker B: social media, you can't really ignore the creative side either whether you've out outsource that to an agency or a social media manager, or you're still doing it all yourself, you still are in this

Speaker A: space where you are at least having

Speaker B: to be on camera, if not also being the person who is coming up with the posts and editing them and writing the captions and scheduling them and doing all of your own marketing yourself. And a few weeks ago on this podcast I had my mom on as a guest and she had a really great quote that I'm going to steal right now. Which was the biggest danger for creators in 2026 is not being replaced by AI. It's voluntarily replacing themselves with AI. And I think there are so many small business owners who are proudly proclaiming I use AI to make every single one of my posts. And it's like, okay, yeah, we know Ronald. We can tell. Because while you could use Claude to automatically create for you all the way from start to finish, write the script, prompt a tool like 11 Labs to create a visual that looks like you and is like a talking head or

Speaker A: a B roll reel and it has

Speaker B: an AI clone, while you could theoretically give 100% of the control and the creative decision making to an AI agent for your Instagram, I don't think that's the right way to do things. I think that your own creativity, your own taste, your own preferences are what are going to separate you from everyone else. They're uh, what's going to separate your brand from anyone else's brand. But with all of that being said, I do think that Claude, and specifically Claude Cowork is an absolute game changer for small business owners because it can do so many of those routine tasks, so many of those automated tasks, so many of those things that you just, you have to do at some point, but you're usually never going to get around to it or you're just kind of going to do it half ass or it's the things that I used to call plane tasks because back in the day when I would have like a long flight, I would spend that flight maybe cleaning up my camera roll or organizing my B roll or going through my old folder of saved posts. But those sorts of things no longer have to be pushed off to the bottom of the to do list or added on top of all of the other things that you have to do every single day. They can be done automatically for you, but by Claude. And so I did an episode a few weeks ago with a bunch of different ways that you could use Claude Cowork on your Instagram or for you as a small business owner who is trying to grow on Instagram. I definitely recommend checking that out. But today I'm going to give you 12 more ideas. And many of these ideas are things that I am actually having my Claude Cowork do for me on the regular.

Speaker A: And the final thing I'll say before

Speaker B: we actually get into the ideas is that this requires zero technical skill. You don't have to know how to code, you don't have to know how to set anything up, you don't have to know how to do anything techy besides have a conversation conversation with this AI robot inside of Claude Cowork and tell it like a normal human being what you want it to do and then let it figure out how to make that happen. Idea number one is to turn your saved folder or saved folders into something that you can actually work with. I don't know about you, but as I'm scrolling through Instagram and TikTok, I'm constantly saving posts that I'm inspired by. Maybe it was the format, maybe it was the hook, maybe it was the way they told their story, maybe it was a specific cut or moment in the video. I'm constantly hitting that little bookmark button and adding them into one Big giant folder. But then in the past, my workflow was when I needed to actually get inspired. When it was time to actually draft out what my reels were going to be about or script them, or just plan what I was going to record, I would go to that folder and I would kind of just like re scroll, looking for inspiration from things that had previously inspired me. And that's not a very efficient system because I'm having to scroll twice. I'm having to just hope and cross my fingers that I'm inspired the second time or that I even remember what inspired me about the post the first time. So instead, something that I'm now having Claude do on a daily basis is use my saved folders, both on Instagram, on TikTok, and even I have a special screenshot folder that I have set up in Dropbox, and it is automatically pulling from those three places and categorizing all of my ideas. It is writing down what from the post I might have been inspired by. It's able to describe their format and it's able to categorize them into different buckets. These kinds of posts would be easy to make. These kinds of posts would require a lot of effort.

Speaker A: You can set up the categorization as

Speaker B: much as you want. And even on the most basic level, if you were to have Claude Cowork on a nightly basis, let's say it's at 3am While you're asleep, go into your saved folder on Instagram, copy the links to any new saved posts that have been saved within the last 24 hours, and then add them to a Google sheet that you can easily reference in the future. That in and of itself would probably save you a lot of time. Now, I went the extra step and had Claude Cowork work with Poppy AI, which is a really great content analytics tool to really analyze those posts and describe the format and really break them down so much better than Claude Cowork could on its own. That's definitely an added tool and a little bit more advanced, but again, I don't know how to connect or build or automate any of this. I literally just described to Claude Cowork what I wanted it to do, what my problems were, and how it could help me solve them. And then it was able to figure out all of the rest on its own. Idea number two is a story poll or story question generator. Essentially, you could have Claude Cowork look at your scheduling platform of choice. I like to use Metricool, and it could look at all of your posts for that day, whether you had one post or a dozen posts, it could look through all of your scheduled content and come up with questions or prompts that you could put on your Instagram stories that day so that your stories are tied into your feed posts. For example, if Claude Cowork looked at my schedule and saw that I had a post upcoming about SEO on Instagram, it could come up with some poll stickers that I could put on my Instagram stories to get my audience's juices flowing, to have them start thinking about SEO and even to maybe even start teaching them some things that they don't realize or that they didn't know about SEO. And then after those series of poll questions or stickers, I can then direct them to the post about SEO on Instagram and to learn more. Idea number three is what I like to call the Repost radar. And as you likely know, if you've been a subscriber of this podcast, which by the way, if you're not a subscriber already, hit that subscribe button down below. But if you are a subscriber, then you already know that I tell you you should be posting every single post that you make at least three times. And each of those posts should be spaced out by about 90 days. Now, if you're using a scheduling tool, you could just schedule your post for the day that you made it and then schedule it for 90 plus days later. But it can very quickly add up and become a lot to juggle and a lot to keep up with. So you could have Claude Cowork track all of those posts and then notify you when a post has passed its 90 day window. You could have it give you a red alert if it's past its 90 day window. But then it reaches, let's say, 140 days and it hasn't been reposted. Well, then maybe you missed that post, maybe you forgot and it needs to be reposted.

Speaker A: And so Claude can basically just help

Speaker B: you stay on top of things. It could even pull your Instagram analytics to determine which posts are performing the best, and then those would be the best candidates to be reposted in the future. Idea number four is definitely a little bit more technical. And honestly, I had to use Claude code to build it. It was like a custom app, not Claude Cowork. But again, I don't know how to code. I don't know how to do any of this myself. I just went into Claude code and I told it my problem. And my problem was that I get a bunch of comments and DMs and every single day. And it takes me a long time to reply to a lot of them. If I had to guess, I would estimate that I probably only get to about 20% of my messages and comments on Instagram on a daily basis. So I had a conversation in normal human speak with Claude Code and describe this problem to it. And it proposed building an app that would pull all of my Instagram comments and direct messages into one place. It would then use my voice based off my Living Voice document, which is something I talked about in that previous Claude co work episode. And it would use all of my past emails and all of my past messages that I had sent on Instagram to inform what I sound like, how I type, how I message people, and it would then draft a response to each message. I could then edit the message if I wanted to send it if it was approved, or skip it if I thought it needed to be skipped. And the cool thing is, if I ended it, Claude code in this little app that it built for me would learn. It would learn from the corrections or the modifications that I was making, and it would just be a much more fast and efficient way for me to get through my messages and comments. I even built in a system within the app so that it could rank my different messages from the last 24 hours based off priority level and urgency. Is this person a potential client? Is this person an existing client who's having a customer service issue that needs to be resolved right now? Did this person just send me a message that says, hi? This is something that definitely took a little bit longer to build, but it was able to build all of it for me, and it saves me so much time every single day. Idea number five is what I'm going to call the trend Translator. And so many people in my audience tell me, Brock, I love the trend ideas that you give. I love the viral formats that you share. I love in the podcast episodes when you're giving us all these ideas. But I struggle relating it to my niche. I struggle coming up with how this trend or how this format is going to fit into what I post on Instagram. And so you could have Claude Cowork help you along this process. Again, it's not doing all of the creative work. You are still the one who is spotting the trend and who is picking out the ideas or the things that you want to remake or the formats that you think are popular that you think could fit into your niche. But then Claude Cowork is helping you with that next step of ideating a couple different versions of how you could fit that into your Instagram.

Speaker B: Cowork Idea number six is a carousel splitting automation. And what specifically I mean by this is that if you're someone who struggles to get your ideas into a carousel, or you're someone who you're a little bit long winded, or maybe you're someone with a podcast or a YouTube channel, you can put in that long form video. Or in my case, I like to just talk to Claude and kind of ramble around my thoughts and here's what I want the carousel to look like and I think I want this to go on and uh, I wanted to generally cover this topic and I just kind of ramble along and then Claude Cowork automatically comes up with a proposed carousel based off of what I've said, a proposed hook, first slide, second slide, third slide, etc. And then once I approve it, it can go into my canva and automatically create that carousel for me using either my brand document, an existing template, or creating it from scratch if necessary. Idea number seven is just a straight up idea collector. If you're like me, which I feel like I've said a few times in today's episode, if you're like me and you have ideas everywhere, you have a saved folder on TikTok, you have a saved folder on Instagram, you have a saved folder on YouTube, you have a screenshots folder in your camera roll, you have a notes app in your phone that's just full of notes and post ideas and random things. You could point Claude Cowork at all of those different places. Basically just think about all of the different places. Maybe even Pinterest, you have a Pinterest board. I don't know, maybe you have a Facebook saved collection. I don't know, is that even a thing? You could point Claude Cowork at uh, each of these different locations. And then once a night again it could be like at 1am While you're asleep, it could go to each of those places and copy any new saved posts or any new saved ideas and bring them into one consolidated place. That way, when you are in the actual mode of ideation or planning your content or scripting your reels, you have all of your ideas in one location and you are not yourself having to go to all of these different places. Idea number eight is similar to something that I've already talked about, but it is a full on carousel creator. Basically what I did to prepare for this is I went into Canva and I created a few different templates. One for breaking news posts, one for storytelling carousels, one for tip based carousels, one that is a split screen style carousel. And I labeled them and put them all into one folder. And then I had Claude Cowork build an automation for itself so that whenever I gave it carousel ideas, it could figure out which format that idea could fit into. And then because it already had a pre built format, it could very easily create a carousel on my behalf. That way, if I'm ever working out or I'm driving or I'm on a hike or whatever and an idea pops into my head, I don't have to write it all down right there. I can just record a voice note and have Claude Cowork do the rest. And I brought up carousels a few times in this episode because carousels are one of the most slept on ways to grow on Instagram. I did an episode about them, I think three or four weeks ago, and it is an absolute banger with carousel ideas. But another slept on way to grow on Instagram is collab posts. And I'm someone who's always said you should be doing more collabs. Collabs are consistently the best performing content on all of Instagram. And yet collabs are arguably the least frequently posted content on all of Instagram. So high reward, very low competition, and no one's doing them because they require a lot of work. Collaborating with another human being is a lot more work than just creating a reel on your own. But something I did recently to solve this problem is I had Claude Cowork create a bunch of carousels for me based off of essentially a Venn diagram of my content and the person who I wanted to collaborate with's content. Basically, I would just tell Claude Cowork, hey, here's the list of like eight people who I want to collaborate with and then it would go to their page, it would look up some of their recent posts, read their captions, watch their reels, and then determine what was their zone of genius, what were they really good at, what was their unique value that they were sharing, and then figure out, hey, where's the overlap here? Like, what's something that I talk about that's somewhat similar that we could create a carousel on together? And then once it has my approval and I give it the green light and the thumbs up on the carousel that it came up with, it will then go into Canva and create that carousel for me. Idea number 10 is a file organizer. Like I mentioned in the beginning of this episode, that used to be a plain task for me. I was on a long flight, I maybe didn't have wifi or whatever. I was just going to scroll through my camera roll, I was going to clean things up, I was going to remove duplicates, I was going to organize things. If there was a screenshot of a post idea, I was going to put it in my post ideas folder. If there was a great selfie that I could use in a future cover, or an Instagram story, or a carousel, I put that in a specific folder. But now I let Claude Cowork do that for me on a daily basis automatically. That way there's never a backlog of hundreds or thousands of old photos and videos that I don't know what they are and they're not labeled. Instead, every single file that I shoot, whether it's raw or finished product, whether it's B roll or a talking head reel, whether it's a photo for a carousel, I don't care what it is Claude Cowork goes through and labels all of that for me. And it's able to do that very easily in Google Drive or Dropbox, or in my case, a little bit of both. All you have to do is allow Claude Cowork to control your browser and then give it the permission to rename the files and you're good to go. Idea number 11 is a batch day prep sheet. Now what I recommend for creating content is not creating every single day or creating one post from start to finish. Instead I recommend doing it in smaller bite sized chunks on batching days. So on one to two days a week you're going to record all of your content. Then you have the rest of the week to edit, to refine, to schedule, and to do all the rest of that stuff. But you really only have to be on one or two days a week. But during those one to two days, you want to be as efficient as possible. You don't want to be doing an outfit change. Then you walk over to this room, then you're like, oh wait, I got to put on that shirt and then I got to go over to this room and then I got to film this thing and I got to say this thing. It is really going to slow down your process. Another thing that I think will slow down your process that I know slows down mine is when I start with the really hard content. Like if I have a really big idea or a reel that's going to take a lot of editing, or it's going to be a carousel that's going to be very graphic design heavy. If I start with that, I might spend an hour or two working on that one post and then at the end of an hour or two, I maybe have that one post done. If I'm lucky, maybe that post isn't even done. So now I've worked for two or three hours and I don't even have a single post to show for it. Instead, what I like to do, what I like to prioritize is starting with the low hanging fruit, the easier content, the content that's going to take maybe five to 10 minutes to film and then I'm done. Because then at the end of a two hour batching session, I have 13 reels filmed instead of one really big production. But in order to make that happen, I have to know what the low hanging fruit are and I need to be prepared. So I know what I'm going to say, where I'm going to say it, where I'm supposed to be looking, what the idea is, what the script is and all of that. And so Claude Cowork can basically create this outline for you. It can basically create a shot list, to use the Hollywood term. Knowing where you need to be, what the camera angle needs to be, what you need to be wearing, what you need to say. All of that can be prepared and it can be organized however you like it, it can be organized, low hanging, easy fruit first and then the harder stuff last. It can be organized based off of location, it can be organized based off of what the reel is. Maybe you're going to film all of reel A and then all of reel B however you like to do it. You can have Claude Cowork organize it for you in advance. That way you don't have to do it yourself and you don't have to spend the mental load, the mental energy to organize your content. Before you get into the creative mode of actually filming it. And my 12th idea, and this is probably the one that is the most niche and yet also the one that is most helpful for me on a daily basis. I don't know if this is going to be helpful for you, but this is something that I've done that's been a game changer. When you use ManyChat, the tool for DM automation, you have three options for how you can add an automation to your post. You can use the all posts or reels button. But when you do that, well, then anytime on all of your posts, on any of your posts or reels, that somebody says that keyword, they're going to get the automatic reply. That's not what I like to do because I oftentimes will use the same keyword for different reels for different automations. On one reel, if you comment the word link, you'll get the link to a profile review. On the next reel, if you comment m the word link, you'll get the link to our live event in Dallas. So there's a lot of diversity there. The second option is you can add the automation to a post that you've already made, which works if you're the person who's actually like pressing post on your phone. And then at the same time you like, have your laptop open with manychat and you like, very quickly click on the post before anyone is able to comment. But the most likely option that you are using is the next post option so that you can create the automation at your own pace. You can then select next post or reel so that when you post your next post or reel, manychat sees that you posted it and automatically adds the trigger, adds the automation to that post. That's what most of us are doing. But what happens when you have lots of posts going live throughout the day? Like me, I usually have anywhere from 5 to 10 Instagram posts going up every single day and that doesn't include stories. So if I just turn on my next post or real function tonight before I go to bed, there's probably going to be three posts before I wake up tomorrow morning. And if the third post is the one that needs the automation, well, then I'm out of luck because the automation automatically got applied to the first post. This was a big problem and this is something that me and my assistant had spent really the last year or two working on coming up with solutions. We had been putting things in my calendar for a little bit. We had been setting reminders for each other. We had been building out all of these processes and they were all clunky and required a lot of manual labor. They required us to be on and on our phones ready to turn on the next post option after my last post and before the post that needed the automation. Now I think you can see where this is going. That way a human doesn't have to do it. Claude is doing it for me and I even set up an automation so that if the trigger is successfully turned on, it shoots me a notification and says all good. If the automation fails to be turned on for whatever reason, maybe there was an issue, maybe I set it up wrong, maybe manychat was glitching. Who knows if there's any sort of issue that prevents that automation from being turned on correctly, it sends me an urgent push notification on my phone so that I can fix it so that as a human I can intervene and and problem solve and troubleshoot. But I must say I've been running this for about three months now and the first month there were definitely lots of errors. The second month, not so bad. And for the last 30 days I haven't had to turn on a single Manychat trigger and that includes hundreds of automations. So again, I know that this was kind of a niche use case. I don't know if that one was actually going to be useful for you, but that one has been the most useful for me and so I felt like I had to say it. But if you found today helpful, don't forget to hit that like button. And as always, happy networking There.
