In this episode of Building sustainably: the road to net zero, Liz Brown, Senior Project Manager at RPS Group, joins Chris Lavery to discuss the successful retrofitting of Park Hill in Sheffield City, a project that focuses on sustainability and retentionist strategy. Before RPS Group, Liz worked at Pozzoni Architecture for over twelve years as an Associate Architect and an Assistant Architect at Edmund Kirby. Liz has excellent project management skills from inception to the completion of a building project. Park Hill is a post-war housing estate in Sheffield developed in the late 1950s/early 1960s. The estate is located on a steep slope adjacent to Sheffield Town Centre and was designed by two architects from the Sheffield City Council, inspired by Unite D’habitation, a modernist residential utopia located in Marseilles and designed by Le Corbusier.
