Marci Baron brings a decade of experience in energy healing and retreat design to discuss how wellness retreats create accelerated personal transformation for entrepreneurs and business owners. Starting from a background as a third-grade teacher, she transitioned into energy healing after a profound personal tragedy (the loss of her first child), guided by a medium and later trained by an energy healer. Her business model - hosting luxury retreats in sacred locations like Sedona and Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania - leverages what she calls 'time collapse,' where women investing in themselves in curated environments experience monumental shifts in consciousness. Baron emphasizes that the retreats work by addressing the 95% of unconscious programming running most people's lives, using modalities including past life regression, body-coat work, and energy clearing. The Sedona Sacred Self Retreat in June and Pocono retreat in October address a core challenge for entrepreneurs: the need to extract from daily patterns (driving the same way to work, thinking the same thoughts) to access higher consciousness and higher timelines. Her clients return home and make significant life changes. Baron positions energy healing not as spiritual bypassing but as practical tools for moving through resistance and accessing what she calls the 'unicorn zone' - where time collapses and magic emerges.
Marci focuses on moving blocks through energy work, believing that when unconscious programming (95% of what drives us) is cleared, people naturally attract clients, increase sales, and align with their authentic path. The energy work removes resistance at the root level so physical, mental, and emotional shifts follow.
Sedona was a pilgrimage and ceremonial site for the Hopi tribe - no permanent settlements existed there because it's a vortex where you can feel the heartbeat of the earth. The location's energetic properties create rapid transmutation and alchemy, turning what isn't serving you into diamonds under pressure.
Her luxury retreats gather women entrepreneurs and business owners for intensive experiences combining energy healing modalities, shamanic guidance, plant-based meals, and sisterhood. Everything is handled, allowing participants to relax, integrate, and access higher consciousness; many report jumping timelines and making significant life changes upon returning home.
After the death of her first child at five months, Marci saw a medium and was referred to an energy healer; she trained with that healer out of curiosity. While keeping her nonprofit job, she saw clients in her living room evenings, received guidance through prayer for each next step, and gradually built her brand and retreat business over nine years.
The goat climbs the mountain with precision and goal-orientation; the sea goat flows with the water; the unicorn represents the magical sweet spot where time collapses and you become a mystical being in the sky - Marci's favorite state of being for running her retreats and business.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode is almost entirely composed of spiritual platitudes, astrology discussion, and vague wellness language. There is essentially no actionable business insight a B2B operator could apply; the single faintly practical idea is a common coaching reframe.
how is this for me to grow? Instead of, why is this happening to me? And that little reframe can take you out of victim consciousness
do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do
Every idea presented - energy blocks, vibrational frequency, sisterhood retreats, karmic vs. destiny timelines - is recycled from the mainstream wellness and spiritual coaching vernacular. There is no contrarian or first-principles thinking of any kind.
either you're on your karmic timeline or you're on your destiny timeline
we synchronize and raise our vibrational frequency, and then you come home

I'm doing that in June

Speaker A: Hey, Marcie. Welcome to she Builds Empires podcast.
Speaker B: Hi. I'm so happy to be here. Thank you.
Speaker A: Thank you for being here. And it's always fun when we get to spend a little bit of time before the show gets rolling to just see how life is. And we're both Capricorn Rising, which is, which is very fun. How does that show up for you in your life, do you think?
Speaker B: So it's interesting. I, uh, think you're gonna love this because we didn't even talk about this, but there are three aspects of Capricorn, and I'm not sure if you're aware of them. So Capricorn is the goat, right? And the goat is very steadfast, you know, traveling up the mountain with precision, sure footed, like, goal oriented. The second version of the goat is the sea goat, and she floats down in the water and goes with the flow. So it's an interesting thing, I imagine, as Capricorn rising, like up, up, up the mountain. And like, you know that. And we're both fire signs. You're a Leo, I'm an Aries, right? So it's that constant moving the ball down the field. And we know with Capricorn, when we get into a flow, we're going with the water. That's the sea goat. You ready for the third one?
Speaker A: This is so interesting, isn't it?
Speaker B: It's the unicorn. Uh, so we know as Capricorn Rising, when we hit our magical sweet spots, it's all time collapses. There's no running up the mountain, you know, sure footed, we're not even in the water. We're just magical, floating, mystical beings in, in, in the sky. And, and so how do I relate to my Capricorn is I am definitely all three of those archetypes. And, and my favorite is the unicorn.
Speaker A: Well, if that isn't any way to open up a podcast, I don't know, um, I don't know what is. That's amazing. And I am excited to hear a little bit more about not only your retreats, but you're an author, your energy, healing work, and, and really what it looks like for you to be in that unicorn zone. Because when I talked to you on the phone, I was like, she's got this put together. Like, she's got this figured out. She's in the space in her business where she knows what she's doing. She has people coming together. She knows her stuff. So welcome. Marci, let's just have you introduce yourself to kind of open it up for today.
Speaker B: Thank you. So my Name is Marci Baron. I am an energy healer and my specialty is hosting women's wellness retreats. Um, that's what I love. I work with clients, um, in person in my studio on Long island, but all over the world and have way before Zoom became a thing. I remember when we first had, I was, I had to like, explain what Zoom was to people. I was like, it's kind of like Skype, you know, and now, now it's a household word. Um, so I work with people, women primarily, in their, um, mind, body and spirit, to feel better, to feel in their most aligned self. And the way I go in is through the energy. And the energy is literally the, the key that opens the door for it to show up in the physical, in the mental and the emotional. And those are really interplayed. And I used all of them. But the energy is the way in. And what excites me is I love working with people I love. And again, some people I see only once and work with once. Some people I've worked with every week for years and years and years. It's a process. And the retreats literally collapse the time. There's something to be said about women saying yes to themselves, taking time away from their busy lives, investing in themselves, and then coming together with like minded women in. What I do is a carefully curated environment. It's uh, and what it does is it collapses time. So if people feel stuck or want to get to that next level and they want to open up to the greatest version of themselves and you know, when you work with people in their businesses, the business is just the focus. The business is the place right where people then go, oh, wait, this is not happening for me. I'm not attracting, I'm not selling, I am not aligned in what I feel I should be right? There's some sort of resistance and energy healing, whether it's mind, body or spirit, moves the blocks. It literally just can. Like I say, I've seen it in all of the work that I do, but particularly on the retreats. It collapses time. And every. I just did a, um, amazing, um, reunion. Excuse me, of the group that I took to Sedona in January. And every single one of them had monumental shifts, every single one of them as a direct result of the retreat. And you know, I can explain how that happens and why, but my magical unicorn self shows up in me, just trusting what's right for me. What's right. My next step, staying present. Just not, you know, getting caught up in the stories or what it might look like, or the emotions I give myself permission to feel. And that's, I feel like when we're our most magical, you know, it's like honoring what's happening within me and around me and what excites me and, and um, then I'm flying with the, with the sparkles all around.
Speaker A: As a child, were you connected to energy? Like did you have an understanding of this world?
Speaker B: No, no, not at all. It wasn't encouraged at all. Um, I ah, remember being a very highly sensitive child and I felt a lot of emotion. Um, I always. The only thing I remember was, I mean, just raised as like a reformed Jewish girl. We were like eating Jews. I called as like we ate for the holidays. I do always remember my mother saying like, I know, right? Um, saying like, you are a soul and your soul lives forever. Like that was the only thing that was, that I knew. It wasn't until I went to college and I went to college at the University of Vermont and my health class was a holistic health class. So that's when I started to tap in. Um, she brought like a shamanic drummer and we connected to our animal spirit guides. We were talk. We read a book about astral projection. Yeah, I know. And you were just in Amsterdam said. And I remember like learning how to leave my body at night, like consciously going out into the universe. And when I was in college I went to Amsterdam. So I've never been to Amsterdam in this physical body.
Speaker A: Mhm.
Speaker B: But I was there. Um, so I really started that and then I went on this journey again. It wasn't in encouraged, I wasn't surrounded by people and who encouraged it in my family and friends at that time. And again I shut it down. And then we know how sometimes the lowest of the lows, our personal tragedies and things that bring us to our knees, literally then become the place where the light comes in. And that was very significant for me where, you know, um, I had to believe in something bigger than myself and, and I did. And that's when all of these gifts started really opening for me.
Speaker A: Wow. Um, at what point did you realize that this could also be like a business? Because it sounds like, okay, goes to college, has this awareness of all these things, starts to probably do the certifications and you know, tap into the intuition, things start to happen. At uh, what point were you like, no, this is like literally going to be my business.
Speaker B: So what happened was, and I like where I just left off. It was the, the death of my first child that brought all this pain. Yeah. And I had a. I gave birth to him at five months. I, um, was five months pregnant. And he lived in the NICU for eight weeks. I was in so much emotional pain that I couldn't handle it. And I went to see a medium, and my son came forward, and he. And, um, I felt like, literally, like the wound in my heart, you know, covered up. And I. You know, he's like, you hold so much guilt for my passing. It wasn't your fault. I advanced my soul. And I'm like, wait, what is going on? Like, I never heard of that before. And in that same conversation, she mentioned an energy healer. She was like, you need to go see this woman. And I wasn't ready. Like, all right, then and there, I had to integrate the connection with my son. And it wasn't probably until about six months later where I went to, um, Jerusalem, and literally my crown chakra blew open. I was so activated there because there's just such an energetic vortex. There's a reason that is, like, the center of the three major religions of the world. Like, there's something going on there. And when I got back, I was like, you know, I don't feel myself. And I started working with her. And my background was in teaching. I was a third grade teacher. And this is, like, just a really good thing for everybody listening. It's, you know, it's not where you start, it's where you finish. And trusting that every part long makes sense. Um, and I was just curious. She started offering trainings. She started offering certifications. So I just started taking them out of my curiosity. Nature. Curiosity out of my curious nature. So it wasn't until. I don't remember, it must have been a moment where I was like, I was working with her, healing myself. Like, I was training with her to learn how to do this. And I'm like, you know what? I can do this. I'm like, why can't I do this? And I started. And this is advice I tell every woman who's looking to really take the leap of faith. It's like, do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do. And I had my day job. I was working for a nonprofit organization, and I, like, started seeing people after work, you know, in my living room. And, you know, just. And then every night, this is what I would do. I would say, please show me. This would be my prayer. Please show me the very next step to take. And I was shown one baby step at a time. Like, work with someone to help. Like, you know, do Branding, which I know, you know, is something that you do, right? You know, it's very important to get clear as to, you know, who you are and what you do and. And how to put it out there. So, like, that was shown to me and all these little itty bitty baby steps that now it's like nine years later. I am, um, fully embodied in this. I love what I do. I see the impact that I make, and it's changing, you know, individual people and ripples out to the world. So it's very satisfying.
Speaker A: I love talking to people who are like, in their. Just in their grace and their beauty, in their. In their everything. Like, you are being, you are doing the things, you are embodying it, you are creating, you are building, and it's just so, so beautiful to witness. Do you have a retreat that's been your favorite or what has been. What has been one of the most impactful ones you think you've hosted?
Speaker B: So it's interesting. I hosted in Sedona in January, and I'm not, uh, right when I left, I'm like, I want to do this again. I want to bring another group of women to Sedona. And I'm doing that in June, and I'm calling the women in. So if it feels to your heart, ladies, reach out. Because Sedona is a, uh, very sacred place. And I named this retreat the Secret Self Retreat. And the reason Sedona is such a holy place is what I found out because, um, I work with a shamanic guide there, and he leads us on, um, our excursions and stuff like that. And what he explained is that Sedona, there are no ancient, like, artifacts or sorts of, you know, like, living materials found there. It was a place where the Native American, the Hopi tribe that lived in that area, they wouldn't live. They didn't live in Sedona. It was like their place where they would go for pilgrimage. It is the place where they would go for ceremonies and for their special occasions. You know, I imagine as people make their, um, pilgrimages, wherever people go to sacred sites. So Sedona, the whole town itself, is a vortex. And what does that mean? It's literally where you can feel the heartbeat of the earth. You can feel the energy of the earth pouring and. And they have different orientations. So you can feel them in, um, you know, going in a downward spiral. You could feel them going in an upward spiral. Some are masculine, some are feminine. You know, it's. It's really, really cool, and it's just Beautiful. I mean, these beautiful red rock formations. And the house that I rented is magnificent. It's got this beautiful vista. It's such a beautiful spot with, you know, indoor and outdoor spaces and it's, it's holy. I mean, I really believe it's holy. And the retreats that I host are all luxurious. They' all um, amazing in their, in their ways. Like I've, I've hosted, you know, all over. I've done the Dominican Republic connect, you know, where you and I are in the east coast, but like Connecticut, like driving distance for me. You know, Shelter island out the eastern end of Long Island. So it's like all of them are sacred. But I have to say, as soon as I left Sedona, I was like, I want to go back there. And I, and I just booked it again. So, you know, I'm, um, I'm excited for it. It, it's, it's, it's a holy place. And the support that I got out there. I have this beautiful plant based chef, she takes care of everything. We've got this gorgeous, beautiful, divine, masculine, overlighting presence in the shamanic healer that supports all of the things. So it just felt so great doing it. And then having the women on the reunion call, they all jumped timelines. They all jumped timelines. They all came back home and changed things in their lives in very, very significant ways.
Speaker A: I love Stona and have been very, very lucky to go there many times with my family over the years too. We were there in March, I was there for a retreat. And I always say, and I'm curious if this is your experience. That's why I'm sharing it, that Sedona gives you what you need, not always what you want. Like there's always a gift for you, even if it looks a different way than maybe you thought it to look. And as an example, you know, we're going to Sedona. It's March. It's like the winter in many places. So we were excited for a little bit more warmth, um, and to get outside and do some hikes. Marcy, it poured.
Speaker B: No, uh, oh, the pouring, yeah.
Speaker A: There was torrential downpours there. Like the, the trails were closed. And it was so interesting. As an observer, I found m myself being able to move through it quicker. But in the space of others, people were struggling because it's like, no, I wanted it to be this way. And there's always that gift that Sedona gives you of, uh, maybe it's flexibility or, you know, changing your course and changing Your way and changing your mind. And I'm curious if you've had that experience, you know, being there.
Speaker B: Well, it's interesting you say that because I. I think what you experience in your vacation is a metaphor for life. And it happens and gets very heightened when people go on vacations or retreats or they're like, I think it's going to be this way, right? When we have that attachment to how we think it's gonna go. And like you said, you being conscious and aware, uh, you were like, okay, I gotta go with the flow here, or else I'm gonna bring suffering and who knows, right? Like, what the gift is. But a woman that I had a conversation with that, uh, lives there, said it so beautifully. She said, the desert is a crucible, and with the heat, right? Everything just transmutes so quickly. It's like it just can't. Not. There is. I mean, you had the deluge of water, right? And it's like it. You just can't not alchemize m and transmute and, you know, burn up. What. What isn't serving you. And it does. It becomes this place. I mean, this is where we turn, you know, coal into diamonds. It's this pressure. And what I find with everything and everybody is everything is getting speeded up. There is just this huge acceleration. Either you're on your karmic timeline or you're on your destiny timeline. And, you know, if. If it's not going in the flow, as we spoke about. And again, there are little things that happen here and there, but it's like, how. How do you deal with the disappointment? How do you deal with that? You think you're hiking every day and. And there are floods, right? Life is how well you do with plan B. Yeah.
Speaker A: So true, right?
Speaker B: I mean, so, you know, no resistance to that. So I always say. It's like the cream that I use for myself and for my clients, um, is, you know, how is this for me to grow? Instead of, why is this happening to me? And that little reframe can take you out of victim consciousness, can reframe the lesson here of, like, why is this happening for me? And then you can move accordingly. And that's not like a spiritual bypassing thing. Of course, you could be disappointed. You could be angry, you could be frustrated, you know, like, oh, this is what we were supposed to do. You know, all of it. Um, and at the same time, okay, like, I have to. I can either be miserable in this situation, or I can. You know, I feel like when it's the hardest. That's when we really have to go into our tools and really see how we can shift and alchemize. And that's what I do with people, too. It's not just sessions. I'm giving the tools, I'm giving the perspectives. Um, and retreats, especially everyone in the bubble of the retreat. It's like we synchronize and raise our vibrational frequency, and then you come home, and in whatever ways, it's like, you know, whatever needs to be shifted, you can. You're then on a different timeline. And, and. And it's powerful stuff.
Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, if you think about it, we think the same thoughts every day. We do the same things, we drive the same way to work. So a radical zoom out from your life, which is a retreat, like, to literally, you know, get someone to watch the dog, someone to watch the kids. Uh, you know, you need to figure it out.
Speaker B: Yeah.
Speaker A: You can't not change exactly, because you've extracted yourself from your daily to go pivot, redirect.
Speaker B: That's it. Exactly. And then when we get out of that situation, what I work on doing with women is what is that next unconscious program, that 5% that people are, you know. Sorry, the 95% that people are running on. Right. 5% is conscious. Uh, thought 95 is unconscious. We're all running on programs, and it is the program that fuels the emotion, that fuels the belief, um, and how we show up. So, you know, as we bust through those layers and clear those layers, then we're able to fully stand in the next version of us. And, and. And it's empowering because most people just are like, all right, this isn't working, and they don't know why. And I help them figure that out.
Speaker A: Yeah, Yeah. I also think about, like, with retreats, it's like the connection. The sisterhood. And I used to run a. A mastermind that was based on, like, Napoleon Hill's definition of the mastermind. Like, literally come two or more people coming together to create the third brain. And I've seen that happen at retreats, and I'm curious if you've seen it too. It's like, you know, people come there because they want to change something in their life or their business or relationship, and when they put two more brains together, a third avenue opens up. Like, has that happened for people?
Speaker B: Totally. Totally. So that is. You speak to such a beautiful point because it is within the relationships of the women and whether individually and the friendships that are made, or someone says something and then the Whole pivot happens. And then the collective sisterhood becomes the mastermind. Right. And of higher consciousness, um, 1 million percent. And what I say to women, too, is, like, when women are together and it's safe, women, everybody relaxes. Nobody is responsible for anyone else. Everything is an invitation. You don't even have to do everything if you don't feel like it. But I do give good time to integrate because I don't think 247 on retreat is very, um, good. You know, it's like you're not integrating, but it's so often in the downtime, in the relaxations and the casual, then be like laughing hysterically, you know, just every woman then has permission to go. I don't have to do anything but take care of myself. Oh, my God. I don't remember the last time that was, you know. And that's. And that's the gift of a retreat. Everything's taken care of. Everything goes on as it should when they leave, and everything returns when you come home. And the gift is to just up level, become that higher mind coming connection of sisterhood and fun and play and friendship.
Speaker A: It's the.
Speaker B: It's my favorite thing. I love it. That's why I plan them.
Speaker A: Yeah. So you have the one in Sedona in June. Is there anything else coming up that you can share with the. The audience?
Speaker B: Yes. And I did a retreat in Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania, in the Poconos, um, last October, which was like, peak leaf peeping, beautiful, you know, um, fall foliage. So I'm gonna do that again too. If anybody is interested in that retreat, um, send. Send me messages and let me know. Those are the two that I have. So June and October. And I think that's what. That's, like, all I'm going to do. Like, that's what feels aligned. We know, you know, it takes a lot for them to come into manifestation. And that's where I did, um, and I did two more in the earlier. So I did Sedona and I did the Dominican Republic. So for last year in 2022, I did five. That was a lot.
Speaker A: Wow. Yeah.
Speaker B: Yeah, five retreats were a lot. Um, this year, four feels comfortable for me. But Sedona got, um. You know, I was just like, wow, because it just. It was amazing. It was amazing just because the location, the chef, the. The. The shaman guide, like, the women who were called to it, I believe a beautiful, like, when your heart speaks to go to Sedona. And there had been women who had gone to Sedona before, but they were like, Never ever like this. Never ever like this. It was, it was really extraordinary. So, yeah, so that's what I'm, um, that's what I've been focusing on.
Speaker A: One of my last questions for us today is going to be more of, you know, the impact and the vision with your work. And I'd love for you to, you know, reflect on what happens when, you know, more people not only come on retreats, but connect with themselves and connect with others. Like, what would this world look like if we had more people who were open, willing to do that?
Speaker B: Everyone will then return and remember the truth of who they are, which is unconditional love. We come from love, we return to love. We are love. The illusion is that we're separate from each other, from ourselves, from source energy. And I just believe this process is a re membering. It's the truth of the essence, which is unlimited, pure, light and fully, um, here to live human and divine, like the bridge between heaven and earth. And as people reclaim those parts of themselves. And I do a bunch of different modalities, like I do past life regression, I do the body coat, I do all these techniques, but the bottom line is everyone then comes into wholeness and holiness.
Speaker A: M
Speaker B: thank you.
Speaker A: Um, this has been so much fun with you here today, Marcy. I just want to say thank you and if you could just give our listeners a way to connect with you. Instagram, what works best.
Speaker B: Sure. So my Instagram is at Marcy Baron, which is my full name, M A R C I B A R O N M. And my website is marcybaron clears.com and I know you'll have those in the show notes. So, you know, send me a message, follow me, you know, inquire about the retreat. I just love connecting and holding space and really showing everyone, um, the truth of who they are because that's really it. I'm just the guide. And on my website if you want, um, there's a five minute energy cleanse. I'll actually send you the note too if the, the exit the street link. It's five minutes. And what I'm very passionate about is energetic hygiene. So just like we brush our teeth, we wash our hair, you know, showers, we need to take care of our energy too. And what everyone says after the work with me, one session, all of the things is, I feel so light. We don't realize how much we're holding, um, in our energy body. So it's free. It's five minutes. It's like you do it at the end of the day, and you're literally washing and clearing your energy. You're calling your energy back. It's healing. It's amazing. I will send you that. Yeah. Yes. It's. People can just get it with their email and download it to the phone. And some people are like, oh, my God. Wow. In those five minutes, something shifted. So it's like a good little taste.
Speaker A: I love that. Thank you so much, Marcy, for being here today. This is an amazing conversation.
Speaker B: Thank you, Bridget. I am just so happy to connect. And I loved our conversation. It went so fast.
Speaker A: Uh, that's what happens when you're having fun.
Speaker B: We're in the unicorn.
Speaker A: Yeah, we are. Unicorn out.
Speaker B: Thank you.
