Remarkable Leadership Lessons ranks #5226 on The B2B Podcast Index with a substance score of 47.0 out of 100, scored across 1 recent episode. It scores highest on insight density and originality. There are one or two mildly interesting ideas - the 70/20/10 reframe applied to communication and the values-vs-beliefs distinction around money - but the vast majority of the episode is generic self-help: take small steps, be authentic, change is hard but necessary. The ratio of platitude to insight is very high for a 37-minute episode nominally aimed at B2B operators.

“70% of their communication is their own stuff M. Their own beliefs, their own emotions, their own experiences, their own whatever. 10% might be a combination of their stuff and it being personal to me, but only 10% of their communication was directly personal to me”
“beliefs is whether or not you deserve that money”
The 70/20/10 rule borrowed from accounting and applied to interpersonal communication is a genuinely fresh framing, but it is the only meaningfully contrarian idea in the episode. Everything else - everyday people as trailblazers, small daily steps, looking back to move forward - is recycled self-help that has circulated widely for decades.
“he comes to me one day and he says, look, as long as 70% of the invoices go through, fine, 20% get escalated, and 10% we write off. That's our goal.”
“if you're taking less stuff in, then you have more energy for you. Just like with the air filters or whatever, the less stuff in, the longer the air filter will”
Wendy Watson is a life coach and spiritual therapist with a massage-therapy background who transitioned from corporate accounting; she has not operated a business at scale, led teams, or navigated B2B challenges in a way that would be directly instructive to the podcast's stated audience of small-to-mid-sized company leaders. Her expertise is personal-transformation coaching, which is thinly relevant at best.
“going from corporate America to massage, the more I incorporated my journey into my massage business”
“I helped a woman go from suicidal tendencies and telling me I was her last option. In just five sessions, she had a whole new outlook on life”
The episode relies almost entirely on personal anecdotes without verifiable data, named companies, measured outcomes, or timelines with numbers. The one concrete figure - five sessions to a 'whole new outlook' - is an unsubstantiated claim, and client stories are anonymised and impressionistic rather than evidence-based.

“I helped a woman go from suicidal tendencies and telling me I was her last option. In just five sessions, she had a whole new outlook on life”
The host occasionally asks orienting follow-up questions (values vs. beliefs distinction, what a session looks like) and attempts to connect the conversation to her five-pillar framework, but she rarely challenges any claim, frequently inserts long personal tangents, and the default conversational register is affirmation rather than interrogation.
“can you distinguish between values, beliefs, traditions? Maybe. I'm not sure.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.”

This is a great podcast that humanizes the side of leadership and how to be an effective and transformative leader. She zones in on the person and not just the professional side to unearth life lessons that anyone can take away from. She has an impressive line up of guests as well, so it’s a great listen.

I had heard that AI may have biases and I appreciate Episode 136 because it clarified how this is occurring and the reality behind AI. Anyone wanting to expand their knowledge to become a better leader, regardless of role, would do well to listen in to Denise’s impressive line up of guests!
