Jeff Richfield, entrepreneur and spiritual empowerment coach, joins David Meltzer to discuss building wealth and purpose through faith-based principles and character development. Richfield shares his journey from exiting Nashville Music City Roofers - a $12 million roofing company he built over 10 years - to pivoting into health and wellness after experiencing a stroke. He introduces Feel Great, a natural GLP-1 nutraceutical alternative to Ozempic containing yerba mate and theobromine, designed to address metabolic disorders affecting over 30 health conditions. Beyond business, Richfield discusses his spiritual music project and his book "I Am, I Have, I Act," which outlines 40 character traits for aligning passion with purpose and profitability. The conversation emphasizes delegation, team accountability, KPIs, and treating money as a stewardship responsibility rooted in generosity rather than greed. This episode benefits entrepreneurs struggling with hiring decisions, founders exploring faith-based business models, and anyone seeking to integrate spiritual principles with scalable business systems.

Key takeaways

  • →Delegation to trusted team members with clear accountability and KPIs is critical to scaling a business from startup to millions in revenue.
  • →A natural GLP-1 nutraceutical product (Feel Great) with yerba mate and theobromine addresses metabolic disorders without the side effects of pharmaceutical alternatives like Ozempic.
  • →Success requires spiritual and character alignment before pursuing wealth; stewardship, generosity, and honor are foundational to integrity and long-term prosperity.
  • →Identifying and removing personal interference in your own trajectory is more important than external obstacles, as capabilities already exist within you.
  • →Building a sustainable business requires delegating hiring decisions to qualified team members rather than making them personally if it's not your skill set.

Questions this episode answers

What is Feel Great and how does it differ from Ozempic for managing appetite?

Feel Great is a natural GLP-1 nutraceutical containing yerba mate leaf (five times potency) and theobromine from chocolate, approved with 20 double-blind studies. Unlike Ozempic needles, it comes as a sachet and creates satiation and reduced food cravings without the side effects some users report from pharmaceutical GLP-1 drugs like vision problems or lawsuits.

What process did Jeff Richfield use to scale Nashville Music City Roofers to $12 million in revenue?

Richfield hired his daughter Jessica, a seasoned HR professional, to delegate hiring decisions since he acknowledged being too nice to hire effectively. He implemented weekly leadership meetings with all five team leaders, established KPIs for quality control, created accountability systems, and gradually incorporated AI - building the company over 10 years through consistent step-forward, step-back progress.

What are the core principles in Jeff Richfield's book "I Am, I Have, I Act"?

The book presents 40 character traits across a 40-day perspective (15 minutes daily) designed to align people with "the great I am," positioning them to be qualified stewards of wealth. Richfield emphasizes that divine alignment brings assignment, then treasures, with money relationships grounded in generosity, honor, fellowship, accountability, and stewardship rather than greed.

How does Jeff Richfield connect faith and music to healing and business success?

Richfield believes nothing comes to earth without first coming through the spirit, and that tears in prayer are heard by God and can heal listeners. His song "One Thing I Seek" (Psalm 27) was created during his darkest season after divorce and panic attacks, reflecting his belief that spiritual empowerment precedes profitability and that being a channel for wealth requires first stewarding it generously.

What mistakes did Jeff Richfield make early in building his roofing company?

In his first five years, Richfield hired people too easily because he was too nice and too trusting, resulting in people attempting to steal his company and taking advantage of him. This taught him the importance of delegating hiring to qualified professionals rather than doing it himself.

What our scoring noted

Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.

Insight Density

2 / 20

The episode is almost entirely promotional - tour announcements, product pitches for a 'natural GLP1' supplement, and spiritual platitudes, with virtually no actionable B2B insight beyond a generic delegate-trust-accountability-KPI list.

So first it's the team you have, then you got to trust them, then you delegate to them, then you have accountability. And then you have KPIs
Divine alignment brings us our assignment

Originality

3 / 20

Recycled motivational and spiritual content mixed with supplement marketing; the only mildly novel angle is the 'tears in prayers' tangent, which is not business-relevant.

our relationship with money is based on generosity, honor, fellowship, accountability, stewardship
if the tears from heaven could fall to earth, that would be amazing to heal people

Guest Caliber

7 / 20

The guest did build and exit a $12M roofing company over 10 years, which is a real operational achievement, but the conversation pivots almost entirely to supplement promotion and inspirational speaking rather than leveraging that experience.

So I exited my roof company, Nashville Music City Roofers. Uh, we were 30 employees. 10 years, 12 million
I tell people I'm a spiritual empowerment coach

Specificity & Evidence

5 / 20

A few concrete numbers (30 employees, 12 million, 10 years) appear, but most claims are unsubstantiated marketing assertions about supplements and metabolic disorders with vague, dubious 'evidence.'

we were 30 employees. 10 years, 12 million
approved with 20 double blind studies with our natural GLP1 called Feel Great

Conversational Craft

4 / 20

Hosts ask long, leading, flattery-laden questions and never challenge any claim, including dubious health assertions; much of the runtime is technical audio issues and self-promotion.

By the way, Nick's, uh, future so bright he has to wear shades
you guys can hear me better now?

We are rocking and rolling with episode 903 or more. And Jeff Richfield is waiting in the green room. Welcome, Jeff.

Speaker C: Hey, guys, thanks for having me on. This is such a blessing out here in, uh, LA from Vegas. Uh, it sounds like you do a lot of touring yourself.

Speaker A: Yeah, we, we get on the move over 200 cities, which is now you're part of our neighborhood. You'll be in Vegas, in California, in New York, in Miami with us. Uh, as you are a great speaker, songwriter, and you, uh, uh, have poured into people inspirationally. Also a great entrepreneur. I've been trying your new company, uh, first day to day, uh, with balance and, uh, give me an idea, uh, in the health space and wellness space, uh, you are creating a great legacy. Give me, give me an idea what the rich life is really about.

Speaker C: Thanks for having me, Dave. This is amazing. So I exited my roof company, Nashville Music City Roofers. Uh, we were 30 employees. 10 years, 12 million. And I sold the company two years ago. I had the wealth and then I had a stroke. And then I figured, oh my gosh, my world's over. Right? You can have all kinds of problems in the world until you have a health problem. That's the only problem. So I figured out I got to move into the health sector. And you know, we went through Covid. Everybody lost parents and people and grief. Now God says we want our health back. And I'm in that to save a million people with metabolic disorders. So what we have here is something that's a natural GLP one. Can I just go for it and tell you?

Speaker A: Yeah, please.

Speaker C: You see it all over the news, billboards, GLP1, right? You can't like, not see it. Now you have Ozempic, you have the other drugs, they have the needles. You have problems with these things. Some people are going blind. Some people have lawsuits against them. We are the only natural nutraceutical in the doctor's playbook, approved with 20 double blind studies with our natural GLP1 called Feel Great. Why is it called Feel Great? Well, we put that yerba mate leaf in it from Argentina and we give it a five times potency, five times. And then we put some theobromin in it, which is from chocolate. And it makes you feel good. It gives you an elated feeling. So you have it in the morning, this little sachet. And when you drink it, and hopefully you did, you'll notice that you're not as hungry. So it gives you a satiated feeling. Like, you're just not. Like, the food noise goes away, right? The cravings go away. And the truth is, Dave, There is over 30 metabolic disorders, including cancer, diabetes, lupus, neuropathy, brain fog, food cravings galore because of the food that we eat that you know as well as I do, they're under a lawsuit. Nabisco, Coca Cola. The sugars are out of hand. The kids in schools get ADHD from these high sugar foods like Cheerios and Frosted Flakes. And I'm here to set a standard, and I'm saying no more.

Speaker A: And the protocol itself is so easy to use. Uh, I had gotten my first order of it and had my first packet this morning as we met yesterday. So I didn't waste any time to get on the program. Already feel different. Uh, I'm a nootropics guy, have taken tea every morning. And so switching up the routine, I was a little bit concerned that it wouldn't have, uh, the same positive impact on what I'm doing. And, uh, I look forward to working with the team. I know Bill Walsh, one of my associates, is also heavily involved, which gave it credibility. Um, Nick, have you heard enough to be curious enough to have our first question. By the way, Nick's, uh, future so bright he has to wear shades.

Speaker C: That's great. By the way, I love your book.

Speaker B: I'm just enjoying my weather tax that I pay.

Speaker C: Dave, the book is just to confirm

Speaker B: you can hear me better now, right?

Speaker A: Uh, you're. Yeah, we can hear you better. You're a little delayed.

Speaker B: You guys can hear me better now?

Speaker A: Yeah, we can hear you better. You're just a little delayed.

Speaker B: That's so weird. Okay, no problem. Well, Jeff, uh, in lieu of office hours made for mistakes, um, and the reason I jumped off was I actually had no audio, so I'm jumping back in hot. But my question to you is, as a seasoned entrepreneur, is I think everybody has made some mistakes as it pertains to relationships and the spheres of influence that we surround ourselves with. And so what I want to understand for you, as you know an entrepreneur that's had many successes, it would. Is what is your process for trusting and vetting various different partners, investors, et cetera, et cetera? Because that's a great area where obviously a lot of interference can be created both emotionally as well as quantitatively in alignment with your business?

Speaker C: Yeah, that's a great question. And when I began Music City Roofers, in my first five years, I stumbled and fell many times. I knew, I reasoned that I cannot be the Guy who hires because that's not my skill set, because I'm too nice, right? And I'll hire anybody. And I got taken advantage of, honestly. Uh, some people tried to steal my company. So I figured, we know what, I'm going to hire my daughter Jessica, uh, and she's seasoned pro with hr. So I delegate number one, if you don't have the quality, learn who you can trust to delegate something to right, to build a company. And then you got accountability. So we have our leadership meeting, you know, every week, all five team players are there and we're all going through the ups and downs of what's happening. So first it's the team you have, then you got to trust them, then you delegate to them, then you have accountability. And then you have KPIs, right, measures of quality control so that you can make sure the systems are working in automated fashion, especially with AI these days. So you got to incorporate the AI and get that involved. But yeah, when I built this company to 12 million, uh, it didn't come easy. It took 10 years, uh, to step forward, step back, step forward. And we had to hire the right team. It was a hero culture. I sold it. Now my son's flying away with the roofing industry in Nashville and it's exciting time to be in to pass the baton to your son, you know, um, so, yeah, I'm blessed. And I'm also still working on me like I have challenges right, as a 62 year old man and, um, you know, going through some fires right now, but God's faithful to keep me under his hands.

Speaker C: Carry me through the valleys no weapons

Speaker A: formed against us will prosper. Those challenges and struggles are, uh, absolutely part of the bargain. In faith and wisdom. Uh, if you want faith and wisdom in your life, it's part of the bargain to have struggles, setbacks, failures and mistakes. Um, but you also have this inspirational side of you as you are in the self development world and inspiring others. I'm particularly interested. I had read up since we met about the music side of it. Obviously being a Nashville guy, uh, music is a big Part of that city, a big part of where I, uh, went to law school in New Orleans. Very similar to Nashville, uh, in a big part of my life, although I'm not very talented. Um, how important? Beyond health, which I will tell you, my favorite saying about health is if you're healthy, you get as many wishes as you want. If you're unhealthy, if you're unhealthy, you only have one wish and you experience that. But now you sing songs and create inspiration through music. Uh, give me a little bit of background on why that music is so important to your life.

Speaker C: I went through my darkest season, guys, and I'm stumbled through a divorce, unfortunately, 35 year marriage. And in that dark season of separation, God visited me because I was, had panic attacks and I hit my lowest of lows. And he gave me seven spiritual laws of the Presence. And everybody's, you know, wanting the Presence. And so, um, yeah, I had in One Night trilogy. Uh, the Presence is now coming out and we're working with some people from the Secret. So that's funny you mentioned them. Uh, Joe fatally is, you know, I got the copy and Mike Beckwith. So I guess there's a new movie coming out and they asked me to do the Spiritual Pillar. And so a song came with that too called, um, one Thing I seek. It's Psalm 27. This one thing I seek, this one thing I to meditate on the beauty of the Lord all the days of my life and dwell in his temple. So I was in tears when I wrote it. And I remember that it's. There's the shortest verse in the Bible which says Jesus wept when he saw Lazarus dead. And if, guys, if we can get tears in our prayers, I think the father hears tears and I think the song will weep. People who hear it, they say they cry. And my idea is if the tears from heaven could fall to earth, that would be amazing to heal people.

Speaker A: I love that. Nick, bring us home, man. What are you thinking?

Speaker B: Absolutely. And Jeff, you know, I definitely can feel, you know, your passion, especially on, uh, the music side, let alone with what, you know, you and David were speaking about. And, and I want to understand your perspective because I've learned so greatly from David of how to be able to blend that passion then with purpose, then to create profitability. And I want to understand for you where the root and the mindset that you approach such passionate work with, because so many people can get caught up in their passions. And then it's the classic Barney song of I love you, you Love me. Nobody makes any money, right? So I want to understand your roadmap for success in alignment with aligning those three things.

Speaker C: Thank you so much. I tell people I'm a spiritual empowerment coach. So nothing comes to planet earth, but first by the spirit. So what it is is we get alignment with heaven. Divine alignment brings us our assignment. And after we have our assignment, then we can get to the treasures. But our relationship with money is based on generosity, honor, fellowship, accountability, stewardship. Without those qualities, you have no integrity. So my book I wrote called I Am, I have I Act is based on characters, a new bottom line. You can get that on Amazon. I Am, I have. Because if you have the great I am, you have what he has got it. So I learned that early. So it's a 40 day perspective, 15 minutes a day with 40 character traits to get you to be the gold. So you can then qualify, be qualified and then steward what God's going to bring you, right? Because he wants to give wealth, but he's only going to give it to those who steward his treasures. Well, and it's about being a giver, uh, to give it on, pass it on to be a channel for that wealth. Everybody says it's the golden age, right? Silver and gold. So I believe that in King Solomon's day there was so much silver in the streets it was worthless. And I do believe God wants to do that again. To bless people and go across the Jordan into the promised land. But uh, we can speak prophecy all day long, but it comes down to action, doing right to others and then you will be done right to you.

Speaker A: So true. Never negotiate your last penny, Always be fair and don't do business with dicks. I am happy, I am healthy. I am wealthy, I am worthy. I am rich with Jeff Richfield. What am I doing to interfere with it? He is an incredible friend, part of our neighborhood. You'll be seeing him on our other shows. He was absolutely gracious enough to give up this Saturday along with the Walmar as we don't miss a time to do made from mistakes. Uh, Jeff Richfield, the rich life. You can find him. Just get him back on here. Uh, hopefully to let us know. Do you know where they can find Rich? Is it the richlife.com?

Speaker C: it's uh, jeffrichfield.com jeffridgefield.com look him up,

Speaker A: follow him, be inspired in your divine direction. A new friend or a family? A new friend in the neighborhood. You get to see him a lot more. Jeff. Promise us you'll come back 100% I'm

Speaker C: there, I'll be there. I'll tour with you. We will make a difference in this world and make an impact, right?

Speaker A: Guaranteed, my friend. Thank you so much. We'll see you soon. That's Jeff Richfield. Jeffrichfield.com the Rich Life. And check out his music, check out his book. Amazing entrepreneur, Nick of Wall. I'm gonna let you go back to what you're doing, but I need your takeaway of the day.

Speaker B: Yes, sir, the takeaway, um, which actually I already had a takeaway. And then Rich dropped that gem of I am and I have, which I expand upon that by saying, what am I doing to interfere with it? Something that you have taught me and I've continued to practice, is understanding the interference that we are creating because it's already within us. Coming from an omniscient, all powerful, all knowing. And it's a matter of elevating our awareness to what we're doing to create that interference, resolve that interference and roll back into our trajectory. So it's a great reminder, especially here on a Saturday as we enjoy, um, the beautiful weekend that we have and a little bit of extra activity with that weather, uh, tax that we get to pay.

Speaker A: Yeah, enjoying the weather tax. We'll be coming down to San Diego for Uncle Eli's 50th anniversary party at the Catamaran Hotel in Pacific Beach. Then off to Chicago, get back on the road and I will see you in Newport beach at the Mastermind. My takeaway for the day is Jeff's relationship to tears and how God is aware of the tears and tears are great and may God shed tears all over us. Uh, so that was a great takeaway. Hadn't seen or heard someone take the perspective of tears in that direction. I loved it. All right, we will be in Chicago, then Newport beach is mentioned. Big, big lineup in Newport beach with Tim Story, J Abraham, Marie Diamond, Austin Keane, John Coyle, myself Nick of Womb. Then Vegas for summer league, then Philly for the All Star Game, then New York for Fanatics Fest in a speech out in Long island, then SOFI Stadium, then Miami FC with Messi London, private member, private networking group in the uk. Then Breckenridge, Colorado and then back to SOFI stadium or somewhere. Vegas, I'm sure. 200 cities. Just text us 949-298-2905. Informed and invited. That's all we want you to be. Informed and invited. Please text us 949-298-2905 if you like books, guides, exercises and replays. Simply Email me David Blessed David Beloved at D first initial. Meltzer Servant.
