Nice with Dave Delaney ranks #2747 on The B2B Podcast Index with a substance score of 63.0 out of 100, scored across 1 recent episode. It scores highest on guest caliber and specificity & evidence. Jason Falls is a genuine long-tenured practitioner - EVP at an early-stage martech startup, multi-book author, podcast network operator - with real deal experience in influencer marketing. However, he occupies the thought-leader-adjacent lane as much as the operator lane, and the episode doesn't extract the depth his résumé implies.
Averaged across 1 recently scored episode, with cited evidence.
There are pockets of genuinely useful practitioner knowledge - creator cost tiers, community-influencer logic, UGC-as-creative-department - but they're buried under extended personal tangents (Belmont University, ex-wife dinner, non-alcoholic beer, Nike movie) and meditation chat that delivers zero B2B value. The insight-per-minute ratio is low.
“we actually will help you find great content versus great content creators. Because we have image to image and video to video search”
“I will tell you that there is a vast gap between, you know, people who have, let's say 10 to 50,000 followers or so and the people who have more than, let's say 100,000 followers”
The community-influencer framing (find people already in your ecosystem rather than keyword-matched strangers) is a coherent and moderately fresh angle, but most other takes - AI gets you 80-90% there, quality over quantity in followers, signal-to-noise is worsening - are widely circulated in marketing circles and don't push into genuinely contrarian territory.
“you'll notice I don't use the word the R in the word influence marketing. I just say influence marketing without influen”
“it doesn't matter if the person who is creating the content has followers at all. If what you're looking for is really authentic user generated content”

“I reached out and said I would really just love to see what your rates are for, you know, maybe a sponsored post and some Instagram stories and maybe a reel”
“I knew very early on I don't need everybody to listen to me for me to have a successful career”
A handful of concrete data points land well - the $7,500 rate for a 46K-follower static post, $17K FTC fines per incident, the 14-point brand-safety check - but much of the conversation stays anecdotal or gestural ('a couple of technology clients,' 'dozens of influencers a month') without naming clients, campaigns, or measurable outcomes.
“her rate was $7,500... for one static Instagram post. So just a still picture and a caption”
“it find the creators $17,000 per incident. So per post. And it also find the brand $17,000 per post”
The host regularly injects lengthy personal anecdotes that derail the conversation (his kids' band camp, Griffin Technology days, Google speaker tenure, sobriety journey), and almost never challenges Jason's claims or asks for harder evidence. Questions are open and friendly but rarely pointed enough to draw out the guest's real expertise.
“my kids both, uh, uh, study band. They're both, uh, musicians in there. Each summer, uh, Belmont has an awesome, uh, band camp”
“I remember earlier on because I had brands actually hire me as, as an influencer to promote the work they're doing”
