Five dimensions, 20 points each
After a multi-year sabbatical studying relationships and founding The Brotherhood Society for Men, the Momentum Podcast host is closing Simple Operations - the membership and consulting business he built over decades - and transferring it to Gabe, a client who not only mastered the content but expanded it into a published book. Gabe, who met the host in 2018 recovering from bankruptcy, embodies the passenger seat leadership framework: running multiple businesses while working only 20-30 hours weekly and maintaining strong relationships with his family. The host explains that passenger seat leadership means shifting from doing all the work yourself (driver's seat) to creating systems, predictable communication rhythms (daily huddles), and clear roles and responsibilities so your team drives execution. Gabe's book Passenger Seat Leadership targets expert-led businesses in the $750k-$10M range - coaches, speakers, product creators trading on their expertise - and addresses the common ceiling where founders feel like they're juggling chainsaws. The book covers frameworks for roles, responsibilities, results, and requirements; replacing random interruptions with cadence-based communication; and simplifying complexity to enable scaling. Offered at 99 cents during launch with exclusive Q&A access via passengerseatleadership.com, it's positioned as the systematized evolution of the host's twenty-year methodology.
Passenger seat leadership means you stop doing the day-to-day execution work (driver's seat) and move into a position where you have more capacity and energy for strategy and growth, while your team handles operations through clear systems, predictable communication cadences, and defined roles and responsibilities.
Gabe has installed the Simple Operations System in all his businesses, which includes daily huddles for predictable communication, clear roles and results frameworks for each team member, and systemized processes that allow his teams to execute without constant founder involvement.
The book addresses founder overwhelm through frameworks for daily huddles, clear role and responsibility definitions, reducing random interruptions, and scaling complexity - specifically designed for expert-led businesses in the $750k-$10M range that hit growth ceilings because founders try to do everything themselves.
The host wanted Simple Operations to continue thriving under someone who loved it more than he did; Gabe demonstrated genuine passion for the content and vision, already expanded it with new thinking, and embodied the principles in his own businesses, making him the ideal steward.
The book is designed for coaches, speakers, consultants, and founders running expert-led businesses who are trading on their expertise and have scaled to a point where they're hitting a growth ceiling or feeling overwhelmed doing everything themselves.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode is almost entirely a personal narrative and book promotion, with fewer than three actionable ideas surfacing amid extended filler. The rare content nuggets are stated and immediately dropped rather than unpacked.
simplicity scales and complexity creates constraint
He replaces a random Godman interruptions with predictable communication, which changes everything
The 'passenger seat' framing is a mild repackaging of the well-worn 'work on your business not in it' idea from E-Myth and similar sources; nothing introduced contradicts or meaningfully extends existing operator knowledge.
the driver's seat is when you're stuck doing everything in the business
it does mean that you can have a lot of your time back. You can drive growth, have peace, have profit
There is no guest in the episode at all; the host delivers a solo monologue promoting someone who does not appear or speak, and that person's credentials amount to recovering from bankruptcy and being an enthusiastic membership customer.
Gabe actually met me in 2018 at an event where he was recovering from his own like massive business rupture. He had gone bankrupt
he didn't just learn the content, he actually embodied it
The episode provides almost no verifiable data or named results; the handful of numbers given are vague estimates or launch pricing rather than evidence of business outcomes.
Gabe's designed this for businesses between about 750k and 10 million
he works about 20 or 30 hours a week
This is an uninterrupted solo infomercial with no questions, no follow-ups, no pushback, and no interlocutor of any kind; the entire episode is structured as a sales pitch for a book launch.

I wouldn't be recording this podcast if I didn't absolutely think this book would change your life
Computed from the transcript - who did the talking, and the words that came up most.
After a two-year sabbatical, Alex returns to the Momentum Podcast with a major update. In this powerful and emotional episode, Alex shares why he stepped away from business operations, what he's been studying (sex, intimacy, relationships, Tantra, Taoism), and why Simple Operations has officially transitioned to new leadership. Rather than letting the movement fade, Alex made a deliberate decision: hand it over to someone who loves it even more than he does. That person is Gabe. Gabe first encountered Alex's work in 2018 while rebuilding from bankruptcy. He didn't just learn the Simple Operations System - he embodied it. Today, Gabe leads multiple businesses from what Alex calls the "passenger seat" - working 20 - 30 hours per week, maintaining a thriving family life, and scaling with simplicity instead of chaos.

This is the Momentum Podcast. Hey everyone, it's been a while and it's so good to be back recording an episode of the Momentum Podcast. I have actually been on sabbatical for the last couple years studying sex, intimacy, and relationships with my wife Katie. And I've started a new movement called The Brotherhood of Society for Men that I will do a podcast on soon and drop it here.
but today I've got some important business to share with you and really some important news. On my sabbatical, so many people reached out to me and said, hey, where can I get the same type of information that you used to share with Simple Operations? I've had so much trouble running my business and I want to go back in that membership. Are you going to ever do it again?
Honestly, the answer is I'm never going to be in business. Well, I'm not going to say never. There is a very, very, very low likelihood I will ever be in business operations again. I don't say never because every time I say never, something comes back to get me.
But I still habitually say it. And for decades, I helped entrepreneurs develop their operations. And for me, that business just came to a close. I think part of it was my solar return.
Part of it's maybe I hit 50. Part of it is maybe I just had been doing the same thing for too long. and I can't tell you how absolutely in love I am with the new movement that I'm running and what I'm doing now. But just as importantly, I really didn't want simple operations to just die.
When it came time to close a business, Katie and I decided that we weren't going to go out and find buyers and we were just going to close it and take time. Take time for ourselves, take time for our relationship with our daughters. Just take time to explore this new world that we stepped into of Tantra and Taoism and all kinds of other stuff that has just been life-changing. But I knew I was going to have to sell Simple Operations or I wanted to, and I didn't want it to just thrive and do well.
I didn't want to just find a buyer. I actually wanted somebody who cared about it more than I did. I know that's kind of crazy to say because I spent decades of my life putting that content together. but there was one person who was in our membership and I knew he just he loves this stuff like it's not that he kind of likes it he loves it and when we announced the new Simple Operations logo and the meaning behind it and how it had all the symbolism and business and it actually had a lot of masculine and feminine symbolism it's kind of funny how we were telegraphing our move from a while back gave actually this person that wasn't supposed to reveal it he actually had I was going have this big reveal at the end of the podcast, but now you know his name.
He actually got the tattoo on his arm and came to an event. And I'm like, man, he really loves it more than I do. And we were talking on our sabbatical and he told me how much he really missed the membership and how he felt like he could take it to the next level. And I think some people in my position of having done something for 10 years to have someone tell you, hey, I can take your stuff and make it even better, might be offended.
You know, I actually think there's quite a few people in my business that are in my position that would be offended by it. But what I heard from Gabe wasn't like, hey, it wasn't enough. What I heard was, I love this so much that I'm going to put the time and the effort and the energy into making it even better, into taking what you did and using it as the foundation and the launch pad for helping entrepreneurs even more and for helping entrepreneurs get their time back and their lives back and have better families and better businesses and make more money and feel better about themselves and stop feeling like they the only ones suffering and stop feeling like they can do it all themselves and stop feeling like they just stuck And so Gabe and I talked over our sabbatical and Katie and I talked and we put together a deal for him to take over simple operations and bring it back to the market.
And I can tell you that it's something that I'm so excited about already because I've already seen him actually making it better. And he's accomplished stuff since he took over this business that honestly I never did. And I'll share some of that in just a minute, but I wanna give you the backstory. story.
Gabe actually met me in 2018 at an event where he was recovering from his own like massive business rupture. He had gone bankrupt and I was speaking and he was rebuilding and I shared the entrepreneurial personality type and some of the simple operations concepts and content. And he told me that he felt seen and heard in a way that he never had as an entrepreneur. And when he joined our membership, I think it was a year or two later, he didn't just learn the content, he actually embodied it.
He got inside it and brought it into his business and was so passionate about it. And I could always count on Gabe to do two things in our events. One, ask the question nobody had because he was pushing the limit of this content to a point where I hadn't even thought about it. And so he, as a client, as a member, already started expanding the content and growing it and forcing me, asking me, giving me the opportunity to step up and make it better.
And he really changed his life with it. And he owns and leads multiple businesses from what I used to call the passenger seat. Now Gabe calls it the passenger seat. It's a concept I made up, and I'll share what that means in a minute.
and despite like having business at multiple businesses, he works about 20 or 30 hours a week. I know because Gabe is a close personal friend and there are many times where I reach out to him for help or support or I need to jump on a call to work through something with someone or I need his amazing energetic and somatic skills and he's just a wizard and he has helped me with so much and I know he only works 20 or 30 hours a week because anytime I've called him, he's been available within 24 hours.
He's never been overwhelmed. He's never been buried. And it's because he lives these concepts. He doesn't just talk about him.
And he does this while maintaining a relationship with his son, Arliss, that we talk about all the time. And Arliss is an amazing kid. And he maintains a close relationship with his wife, Rachel, who we talk about all the time, too. I feel like I know her, even though I've never met her in person.
And the way he does this is because he has the SOS, the Simple Operations System, installed in all of his businesses. And that's why his teams are thriving, the businesses are thriving, and he's doing so well. And so Gabe took one of my concepts, leading a business from the passenger seat, and he expanded it into a book that I'm so proud to have written the foreword for, and it's called Passenger Seat Leadership. And I got to tell you, if you're running a business, you shouldn't do it without buying this book.
Because here's the metaphor that this means. It's, you know, the driver's seat is when you're stuck doing everything in the business. You're driving and you're, you know, navigating and you're going in the road, telling, you know, actually driving the car. You're doing the labor of driving the car and driving the business and driving everything.
And that is just exhausting. I know because I lived that for most of my career until I figured this stuff out and started Simple Operations And the passenger seat it doesn mean that you not in the business It means you stop driving the day-to-day. It means you sit in the passenger seat where you have more time, more effort, more capacity, more energy to do other things. And it doesn't mean that the business just runs itself because that's unrealistic.
Too many people have made that promise and it just doesn't work. But it does mean that you can have a lot of your time back. You can drive growth, have peace, have profit, and build a business that supports your life instead of your life being your business. You know, as entrepreneurs, we're like that small percentage of the population that gets to make up the rules for our life.
And so many of us make up rules where we're losing, where we are overwhelming ourselves, where we're doing too much, where we're in that driver's seat. And it's because we don't understand a better way. And so Davis figured that out. Gabe has figured that out and he understands it and he embodies it.
And, you know, we think a lot of times, like if we hire more people, it's just going to solve the problem. But the fact is simplicity scales and complexity creates constraint. And Gabe doubles down on this. He's going to explain that to you in a way that it's going to like land in your body.
It's going to be something that changes your business. And, you know, how do you stop interruptions and got a minute and like death of a thousand paper cuts as somebody running a business. You know what I'm talking about. It's like you get up, you have your to-do list, you know you're going to get things done.
And at the end of the day, you're like, where did the time go? Because you've been interrupted constantly. You put a rhythm in place. You have a cadence.
You have a system that runs the business. And Gabe breaks it down to the daily huddle. He replaces a random Godman interruptions with predictable communication, which changes everything. And one of the big questions is like, do your people actually know what winnings looks like?
And Gabe gives you the framework for roles, responsibilities, results, requirements for every person that you really shouldn't, like, if you have people working for you right now, you should stop everything and get this book so that you can get this in place and you'll get more out of the team you're already investing in. Like, think about that. Whatever you're paying them, they're going to be worth more after you do this. And it's going to change things.
And you can stop micromanaging and trying to figure out what every single person is doing. And like, I just explained to you what's in chapter two, seven, and five. So it's in the book. And so this book is for any expert led business.
I mean, honestly, I think it'll help any business, but really if you're an expert leading a business who is trading on your expertise, so you're a coach or a speaker or somebody who really understands something to the core, somebody who's created software around your expertise, or someone who's created a product around your expertise, this book will change your life and it will give you your life back. And if you have scaled your expertise to any level, and now you're hitting a ceiling of growth, it's going to change things for you.
And Gabe's designed this for businesses between about 750k and 10 million. And the lessons are going to apply if you're an earlier stage business. And honestly, even if you're bigger, you're going to get something out of this, I guarantee you're gonna read the book and say, wow, I can't believe we got to 1520 30 million and we don't have this. And so it's like, this is Gabe's metaphor, not mine, but it always makes me laugh.
It's for the founder who feels like they're juggling chainsaws while riding a unicycle. Like you've just got too much going on every day. And the goal is let's build an amazing life and not like one that replaces it. Or let's build a business that facilitates amazing life, not becomes your life.
And so I asked Gabe to put something together special for the people who listen to this podcast, you were loyal to me for, I mean, geez, 900 something episodes over, I think eight years or yeah eight years And so you can join the wait list and you get special pricing on this book It gonna be on Amazon for 99 cents which is silly And you should absolutely take advantage of it. And if you buy during the launch, you're gonna get special pricing, the 99 cents and an exclusive live Q&A with Gabe.
So if you've got a problem with your business, if you've got something going on, if you've got something that has you feeling stuck, if you don't know how to get out of what's happening right now, buy this book, join the Q&A and get some freedom back. Get some expertise. Get what you need from this book. And so this is easy.
Go to passengerseatleadership.com. That's right, passengerseatleadership.com.
Sign up for the wait list and get a copy. I wouldn't be recording this podcast if I didn't absolutely think this book would change your life. And when I say that Gabe's already evolved this business and made it better. For years, for years, for like 15, 20 years, people asked me to write a book on business and I never did.
And Gabe gets in here and he's got it done. And here it is. It's my concepts, but evolved and improved. It is someone who is so passionate about business, not just because he makes money, but Gabe loves doing that.
But he really actually has this like massively open wide heart to help entrepreneurs because he's one of us and he understands us and he knows our challenges and he knows how it feels to be fundamentally stuck. And I'm so excited for you to get this. And I just want you to remember, like wealth is not measured in revenue and profits alone. I know too many people who are so poor, all they have is money.
It's actually measured in the quality of time you get to spend with the people who matter most. My brother Gabe figured that out. And in this book, he's going to help you do the same. And I just want to remind you and thank you and express just such deep gratitude for having you as a listener of the Momentum Podcast.
You signing in week after week and listening to the episodes, regardless of where you started, regardless of if you didn't in a while, if you listened to any of the episodes, I just want you to know the numbers and the downloads motivated me for years. And they kept me in a place of creation and a place of intuition and inspiration for you. And that's why I'm recording this podcast, because Gabe has actually, absolutely, and actually, and in reality, not just in words, but in action and in embodiment, has learned how to build a life where he actually gets to live it.
And he keeps expanding his business empire and his success and his profitability and what he's doing. And if there's anyone in the world I would recommend you learn from, once I close this business, it's Gabe. I wouldn't have sold it to him if I didn't trust him with you, my audience, who I have such deep love, admiration, and respect for. And so thank you for trusting me all these years.
And now I want you to take the trust that you had in me and hand it over to Gabe because he's going to take you the rest of the way. And there's no one I would have chosen to do this besides him. I love you all. Thank you for being Momentum Podcast listeners.
And I'll be back in, I don't know, a week or two. And I'm going to tell you all about the Brotherhood Society and how I'm going to build the biggest men's organization in history. That's going to absolutely, I get an emotional talking about it. how I'm going to build the biggest men's organization in history that is absolutely, fundamentally going to change the world, and we already are.
Thank you so much. Go get the book, passengerseatleadership.com. Love you like crazy, and we'll talk soon.
