Five dimensions, 20 points each
The shift to AI-generated content has fundamentally changed organic growth dynamics. Where showing up consistently once provided competitive advantage, the ability to produce content at scale has leveled the playing field - everyone sounds the same because AI produces what's already been said. Jolie Gregerson argues that organic content still works, but only when it's genuinely specific, polarizing, and relationship-driven with real human voice behind it. She identifies three edges for 2026: infusing your authentic perspective and lived experience throughout your brand (what AI cannot replicate), focusing on your existing community rather than chasing new audience growth through content volume, and building systems on the backend - specifically paid ads - that generate visibility without requiring daily personal effort. This distinction matters because many entrepreneurs respond to declining organic reach by grinding harder, which drives burnout. Gregerson's Life-First Business Growth philosophy positions paid ads not as a necessity for everyone, but as a sustainable lever for entrepreneurs ready to scale beyond what personal output allows, allowing them to maintain the life balance that motivated them to start their business in the first place.
AI lowered production costs to nearly zero, flooding every platform with content volume that algorithms and humans cannot meaningfully process. Content itself stopped being the competitive advantage because everyone can now produce consistent content easily, leveling the playing field.
Organic content works when it's genuinely specific to one person's problem (not generic tips), relationship-driven with your actual community who know and trust you, and infused with your real voice, opinions, and lived experience rather than AI-generated takes.
The algorithm is overwhelmed trying to sort through identical AI-generated messages from thousands of creators, making it harder to reach new audiences organically; paid ads bypass this congestion and provide consistent visibility without depending on algorithm favorability or daily posting.
They grind harder and post more content, assuming that increased effort (which got them here) will get them to the next level - this creates burnout and doesn't address the real problem that consistency alone no longer provides competitive advantage.
Your specific lived experience, real frameworks, authentic opinions that aren't sugar-coated for mass appeal, and your philosophy - what you've actually lived and experienced that only exists because you lived it.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode's one core claim - that AI has levelled content production and therefore consistency is no longer a competitive edge - is passable but immediately buried under repetition and self-promotion. Every subsequent point ('infuse your voice', 'be specific', 'use systems') is a platitude restated multiple times without elaboration or depth.
When everyone can produce content easily and quickly, content itself stops being the edge.
trying to push past that ceiling with more content and more posting and more effort, that is where exhaustion lives and that is where burnout grows.
The framing of AI as a content-commoditisation threat is a widely circulating take in 2024-2025 and is not developed with any new angle. The prescriptions - authenticity, personal voice, paid ads - are the most recycled advice in the creator-economy conversation, and the episode adds nothing novel on top of them.
AI is a pattern machine. So it produces what has already been said at scale
your lived experience, your real framework, your actual opinions, not one that's sugar-coated to make everyone happy
This is a solo-host monologue; there is no guest. The host cites managing 'millions of dollars in ad spend' and 'eight years running ads', which are plausible practitioner credentials, but no verifiable detail, client names, or outcomes are offered to substantiate the experience claimed.
I have managed millions of dollars in ad spend for my clients
I have learned over the eight years I've been running ads how to make it work for every single business model
The episode contains essentially zero concrete evidence: no named clients, no campaign metrics, no before/after data on organic reach, no platform-specific statistics, and no case studies. Every claim remains at the level of assertion.
I have been hearing that it's harder for little guys to get off the ground because there's just so much competition
a lot of people are leaning into paid ads
As a solo monologue there is no interviewing, no follow-up questioning, and no productive tension. The structure is loose and highly repetitive, cycling through the same points multiple times, and a significant portion of runtime is dedicated to promoting a free workshop and requesting Apple Podcast reviews.
I'm actually covering this in a free live workshop that I am hosting really soon. It's May 18th
if you guys would leave me a five-star review on Apple Podcasts. It really spreads the word about my podcast

AI didn't just change content creation; it changed the rules of organic growth entirely. And if your visibility still depends on showing up every day, posting consistently, and staying "on" to keep momentum alive... this episode is for you. We're breaking down what actually changed, where organic still works (and where it has a real ceiling now), and most importantly, where your edge lives in 2026. Welcome to Life First Business Growth, the podcast for high achieving female entrepreneurs who want to be rich in business, but even richer in life. I'm your host, Jolie Gregerson, work from home mom, serial entrepreneur, and meta ads expert who has managed millions of dollars in ad spend for my clients. Every week we're digging into real strategies, sustainable systems, and what it actually looks like to grow a thriving, profitable business without sacrificing this one beautiful life you have to live.
We're talking about using paid ads as a tool for freedom. So your business keeps growing even when you're offline, out of office, and fully living your life. Because growth isn't about doing more, it's about doing it in alignment with the life you're meant to live. If you're ready to stop choosing between your business and your life, you're in the right place.
So grab your coffee and let's go. Hello, hello, and welcome back to the podcast. I have a really good one for you guys today, and it's how AI changed the game for organic growth and how to have the edge in 2026. Now, there's something that happened in the online business space, or something that's happening right now that I think we really need to talk about.
And I say this because there's a lot of noise around the topic, a lot of hot takes, a lot of fear, a lot of here's how to be AI energy. And honestly, it can be pretty exhausting. So today I want to slow it down in typical growth and alignment fashion. I want to give you a real picture of what's actually changing, why it matters specifically for the kind of business you're building, and most importantly, where your edge actually lives in 2026.
Because here's what I know to be true. The women I work with are not looking for tricks. They're not looking for hacks. They want a strategy that holds up over time and doesn't require them to sprint and supports their real life.
They don't wanna dive into something that's gonna be a waste of time, which is so prominent in today's day and age, right? So many different trails that entrepreneurs can go on that is, in fact, a waste of time. And I know that you are not looking to waste your time and I'm not looking to waste your time. So let's dive into what this actually is and what actually changed.
So here's an honest picture of what AI did to organic content is really a lowered the cost of production to almost zero. And although that does sound like a win, and in some ways it is, What it also did is flood every platform, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, email inboxes, podcasts, YouTube, with a volume of content that no algorithm, no human being even can meaningfully process. We went from content scarcity problem to content abundance almost overnight. And here's what's really relevant for you.
When everyone can produce content easily and quickly, content itself stops being the edge. Let me say that again because I want it to land. When everyone can produce content easily and quickly, content itself stops being the edge. Content is no longer the competitive advantage that it used to be.
Showing up consistently used to mean something, right? the people who showed up consistently they were the ones that had an edge over the competition but in today's day and age we're not seeing that edge anymore and I think that entrepreneurs are feeling it because the people that could put out some really good content and do it consistently like I said they had the edge and now the field is leveled people are not feeling that they have the edge anymore from showing up consistently.
So what most entrepreneurs fall into is grinding even more, even more than they already were, because they were able to put out consistent content without AI by pure determination and disciplined, really. And it took a lot of effort. Well, now that the edge is gone, a lot of entrepreneurs are looking for the edge again. and I'm going to get to what that edge is that a lot of people are finding in a bit but let's jump back in to organic growth so I want to be clear about something because I don't want to leave you with the impression that organic content is dead because it's not but the conditions under which it's worked in the past has changed organic content still works when it's genuinely specific not generic and I think that we all know this now more than ever we got to be specific we got to be clear on who we're talking to so for example not five tips for growing your business I mean it has to be content that's specifically for someone so when they hear it it's unmistakable that it's for them.
So your real opinion, your actual experiences, your specific lens on a problem that's specific to you, like be polarizing. Don't be scared to go against the grain because I think now more than ever, because AI is so prominent in our world, people are starting to sound more and more alike. And AI can produce a good take, but it cannot produce your take. and that is going to be what sets you apart.
And that's still yours. That's still something you can own and that still something that going to give you an edge over your competition that is now starting to sound like everyone else because they really just leaning into AI So make sure that you do add your yourself really into your brand and I think we're seeing that more and more through across the board. So organic content does still work when it's relationship driven. Your actual community, the people who already know you, trust you and they hear from you it's why I like podcasting I feel like I really relate and connect to people when I hear their voice it's why I love face to camera content on Instagram it's why I like YouTube it's why I like podcasting which is why I podcast and it's also why I'm gonna try to do more face to camera content on my Instagram but people want to know that you're a real person especially in today's AI driven world.
And I think it's more important than ever, right? And email lists still work when there's a real voice behind them. But I do think that people are picking up to the fact that a lot of things nowadays are AI, and it just makes it seem less genuine. So yes, organic content does still work when it's positioned correctly.
And when there's still a lot of human in it. Um, when you do have an edge because you are infusing yourself into everything. And when you're speaking to that one specific person with one specific problem, then your content lands better. And that's, what's really going to cut through the noise.
So where organic content has gotten a lot harder is in new audience growth. So reaching people who don't actually know who you are and also relying on the ever-changing algorithm to push your content but like I said earlier there's so much more there's really just an overflow of content because everyone is able to be consistent so everyone is jumping on the train because AI is writing everything it's hard for the algorithm to keep up so people are seeing bigger spikes in their organic growth and seeing less consistency and I've also been hearing and I'm no organic growth expert like you all know paid ads are my thing I do not want to be a slave to my schedule and I feel like sometimes organic does that like you have to post a certain amount of stories a day you have to post a certain amount of posts a day in order to stay in the algorithm's good graces it's not something I wanted.
I'd rather pay a little bit of money and basically essentially buy back my time so I can actually live my life and spend my time with my family. And so I'm no organic expert, but I have been hearing that it's harder for little guys to get off the ground because there's just so much competition. And so there's definitely a ceiling now. And it's a real ceiling that a lot of entrepreneurs are really feeling.
So trying to push past that ceiling with more content and more posting and more effort, that is where exhaustion lives and that is where burnout grows. And that is why I made Growth Alignment is to help women pass that because I want to see more and more female entrepreneurs create thriving businesses that they love though, not businesses that become a cage for them and totally go against why they started entrepreneurship in the first place. And that's what I'm seeing in a lot of businesses I work with.
So making sure you have a strong message, you're really keeping the human aspect in your content, you're not letting AI write everything for you. So then you start sounding like everyone else, that's really going to take your edge away from you. So what is the edge that you can have in 2026 moving forward when a lot of people are facing this problem? So I want to spend the rest of our time going over this because I know that's probably why you clicked on this podcast episode and because this is the part that really matters.
So the edge in 2026 is not more content. I know that that is a trap a lot of people are falling into, especially those people who used to stay ahead of their competition by creating consistent content. It's just like, that's what's always worked. Now it's all of a sudden not working as well.
And so they're like, oh my gosh, I have to do more. And this is where burnout lies. And I am trying to help you guys avoid burnout and build businesses that actually give you your life back, not the other way around. So your edge is going to be thing that AI cannot replicate.
So this is your specific voice. This is you and making sure that you are throughout your brand. So your lived experience, your real framework, your actual opinions, not one that's sugar-coated to make everyone happy. And AI is a pattern machine.
So it produces what has already been said at scale and what it can't produce is a thing that only exists because you lived it, right? And so making sure that you are putting your perspective, your take on everything in all of your content. If you guys listen to my podcast or any of my stuff, you know that I'm so big on life first, like life first always. We have one beautiful life on this earth and I want to live it.
I want to live it to the fullest. I don't want to look back and be like, wow, I worked the whole time. I didn't get to spend time with my kids. I didn't get to spend time with my husband.
I didn't get to take care of myself and my body and go on the walk and really pour into myself because I was a slave to socials. I was a slave to my business. That is exactly the opposite of what I want you to think. When you come into my world, I'm going to help you look at things through a life first lens.
That way as you build out your business you not doing it in a way that blind because I think that what a lot of entrepreneurs do is they just jump on the next strategy because they like oh well I just want to build my business but they don't actually think about what that looks like in reality and what that is going to look like down the road so make sure you infuse that into everything that you do that is why I infuse that into my stuff because it's what sets me apart from all of the other ads gurus out there.
Um, because I, I'm so much more than an ads guru. I'm so much more than an ads expert. I am like more importantly, I'm all about life first growth, which is my passion. Like, yes, I'm really good at ads.
Yes. I have tons of experience in ads. Yes. I've managed millions of dollars and worked with some top names in the industry.
And I'm really proud of that. but my mission is to help more women build businesses that they love and actually be able to live their life. I want more women to be able to be out of office and offline and living their life. That is like the growth alignment philosophy.
So make sure you're infusing your stuff with your philosophy, not just something off chat GBT. And that's also going to really build trust with your audience. And so just making sure that you have those levers. And then another thing I did want to add that a lot of people are leaning into in 2026, and I'm not just saying this because I am a paid ads expert, but a lot of people are leaning in to paid ads.
And the reason is because they don't want to rely on the algorithm to really make sure that they're still pushing their stuff like the algorithm's overwhelmed the algorithm has so many people coming in saying the same exact thing and it's trying to find the differences in it all like imagine trying to sort through hundreds of thousands of different messages and know who to deliver it to when all of it sounds the same because it all came from the same machine like it's harder than ever for the algorithm and I think people are realizing that and so they're kind of bypassing the algorithm and leaning into paid ads.
And I'm actually covering this in a free live workshop that I am hosting really soon. It's May 18th. I'm releasing this episode or I'm recording this episode on May 7th. So it's coming right up and I'm really going to be diving into everything paid ads.
And just like the name implies, ditching the algorithm. If you guys want to save your seat, I will link it in the show notes or you can head over to my website, www.growthinalignment.com forward slash workshop.
Definitely save your seat. It's free. It's May 18th and we're really going to be diving into basically what we're talking about today, but in more detail and also really showing you what your business can look like when you implement a paid ad system. Busting some myths over there.
I'm doing some really cool giveaways. Like there's a bunch going on over there. So definitely save your seat. You have nothing to lose.
It's free. It's going to be jam packed with value. And if you have even thought about leaning into paid ads, you've even thought about building a business that grows even when you're offline, definitely jump into the workshop. Once again, that's www.
growthinalignment.com forward slash workshop. So that is edge number three that I want to dive into. And this is one of the most important ones, but also the most underrated.
And the reason content volume feels like the only lever is because for most businesses, it is the only lever. If they stop posting, visibility drops. If they go quiet for weeks, lead flow dips. Growth is tied directly to personal output.
And this is not sustainable. It was never sustainable. And in a world where AI is producing more content than anyone can consume, like have you went on Instagram lately? You can hardly consume it all before just getting overwhelmed.
And half of us are burnt out and overwhelmed already. So it's just not as effective as it used to be. and the women who will thrive in 2026 and go beyond all the rest and really draw their line in the sand for what's going to separate them for their from their competition is not their daily effort in posting i can tell you that much so it is actually going to be the women who build systems and for many that is like I said low cost visibility ads or lead gen ads there's so many different ad strategies and I guarantee there's one to match your budget but really just ads in general and so many more women are leaning into it so many more entrepreneurs in 2026 are leaning into it and I'm not just saying that because I'm a expert in paid ads so what does this look like in practice?
Because I know we just covered a lot, but let's look at it from a 30,000 foot view. So if you're sitting with all this and thinking, okay, so what do I actually do? Here's how to think about it. First, audit your existing content to make sure specific, make sure that you are giving your opinion, make sure that you're showing people how you're different, make sure you're bringing in your expertise because there's a lot of people out there that are are faking it till they make it.
They are truly building AI businesses. Like if you talk to them outside of chat GPT, I guarantee they wouldn't sound as good as their content because chat GPT is writing it for them. And so I think people are picking up to that nowadays. So the trust is actually declining in those people So if you can really infuse your voice throughout everything it going to set you apart Like yes it might take a little bit more time but I promise you people are getting savvy to it and it going to set you apart and it going to give you an edge in 2026 Second stop trying to reach new people with the same content strategy that got you to where you are because it might not get you to where you're going.
And this is both from a strategy perspective, but also from an energy perspective because I know a lot of women run into this issue where what got them here isn't going to get them where they're going because they have so much more on their plate. This is hard for entrepreneurs I have found to understand because when we started our business we were grinding to grow it but then you get to a point where now you're growing the thing so good job hats off you're doing it but that also means there's more on your plate and so you can't keep expecting your hustle to be the thing that drives your business forward because that creates burnout real fast and I have seen it firsthand so the women who know they want to get bigger they know they want to keep scaling and the only thing their brains can comprehend is more effort then right because effort got them here so more effort gets them to the next level and I really try to come alongside people and say hey actually you're to the point in your business where you can actually install systems on the back end this growth engine that's going to run even when you're offline living your life and that's the thing that's going to give you the edge over your competition and for a lot of people that's paid ads and that's when they come into my world and start to work with me.
So just think about a system that you could put in place that doesn't depend on you. Um, because this is really what's going to set you apart. This is also what's going to give you your life and your energy back. So I'm super passionate about it.
And there's so many misconceptions about paid ads and where your business has to be in order to grow them, your budget, all the things. Like I said, we're going to be diving into that a lot deeper and ditch the algorithm. So it's free. Save your seat for that.
Okay. And so here is what I want to leave you with today. The noise around AI and content and organic reach. A lot of it is designed to make you feel behind, like you need to pivot, like you need to jump onto the next strategy.
Like everything you've built is suddenly for nothing, right? I feel like that's so common in entrepreneurship world is where people's like, oh, what you've been doing is terrible. You got to try this instead. because they're just trying to sell you something.
I think it's one of the reasons I love what I do is because I don't make you change your whole business in order to install a paid ad system. I have learned over the eight years I've been running ads how to make it work for every single business model. And so I don't think you have to change your whole structure, but you better believe there's a lot of people out there saying you do because they're trying to sell you into what they want you to buy. And like I said, I don't believe that.
What I do believe is that what is really going to set you apart from your competition is making sure that you are infused in your brand throughout your brand. And also that you can put systems on the backend that makes it to where you're not in so much competition with everyone else because everyone is able to mass produce content using chat gbt but not everyone is leaning into paid ads yet do i think we might get there of course because it's getting louder and louder and harder and harder to grow a business organically but right now the industry hasn't caught up to it yet i do think there's way more entrepreneurs than you think that are leaning into paid ads a lot of people think it's just the massive brands that are running ads but actually a lot of times those brands got massive because they started running ads and so that's like a backwards thought that people have and I think if you make sure that you are infused throughout your brand and that you are building it in a way that's going to support your life and that's really going to set you apart and it's really going to make you have a business that you love it's really going to have make you have a business that you can stay behind that you are passionate about and when you're passionate about it and you feel like you are serving your mission that's when lives are going to change and that's when you really get to feel good about what you are doing.
I'm going to wrap up this episode here if you liked this episode and if you like this podcast it would mean the world to me if you guys would leave me a five-star review on Apple Podcasts. It really spreads the word about my podcast. It helps me to grow. It helps need to be seen by more women who want to grow a life first business and really build a business that doesn't feel like a cage build a business that allows them to spend time with their family and to be present with their kids and to pour into themselves and to not be so drained by their business that they just want to collapse on the couch at the end of the day like I want women to build businesses that they love because that's why they started entrepreneurship.
And I want more women to hear about that and really create this mission and this movement for women to show them there is a different way because I see so many women in burnout and dropping off and actually quitting their dream because of that burnout. And it doesn't have to be that way. And so like I said, if you could leave a five-star review on Apple podcast, it would mean the world to me.
