HR BESTIES ranks #3835 on The B2B Podcast Index with a substance score of 57.0 out of 100, scored across 1 recent episode. It scores highest on specificity & evidence and guest caliber. Named companies (JP Morgan Chase, SHRM), specific dollar figures ($1M settlement offer, $11M demand, $11.5M verdict), named courts (10th Circuit Court of Appeals, Eastern District of Virginia), and procedural specifics (motion to compel, 35 - 36 pages of screenshots) anchor the case discussions well above the genre average.
Averaged across 1 recently scored episode, with cited evidence.
Roughly a third of the episode is pure filler - the dream sequence, pocket pastries, book promotions, and PTO small talk - leaving substantive HR content concentrated in the JP Morgan and SHRM lawsuit segments. Even the denser sections rarely move beyond surface-level case reaction.
“Okay, so if I'm JP Morgan, and sometimes I wish I was, like, how would I handle this now when it comes to the executive, right?”
“people in any situation fill, fill emptiness or lack of knowledge with the worst case scenario”
The AI prompt-building angle in the JP Morgan case is a genuinely novel detail, and the discovery-dispute walkthrough of the SHRM service dog lawsuit is unusually granular for an HR podcast. The wrap-up advice on HR as a team sport, however, recycles familiar practitioner tropes.
“He went and I don't know if he used his real dad name, but there's, like, an AI platform...had asked a prompt of like, what do I do if...very similar to the allegations he came out with”
“if you put things in a legal document, like a complaint, in the US at least that is protected from defamation”
There are no external guests; the three co-hosts are the only voices. Ashley brings genuine employment-law credentials and a published book, and Jamie and Lee are working HR practitioners, giving the legal and case commentary credibility - but it never reaches the practitioner-at-scale standard that warrants a higher score.
“I've been in HR for 23 years”
“I spoke yesterday at a conference and I was talking about this with the JP Morgan of how it's, you know, you have investigations and that's why it's important to figure out who's going to investigate”
Named companies (JP Morgan Chase, SHRM), specific dollar figures ($1M settlement offer, $11M demand, $11.5M verdict), named courts (10th Circuit Court of Appeals, Eastern District of Virginia), and procedural specifics (motion to compel, 35 - 36 pages of screenshots) anchor the case discussions well above the genre average.
“they checked, um, computers, they checked messages, emails, door records, like badge records”
“they had offered him, allegedly, a million dollars to settle, and he was like, no, m. No, I want $11 million”
The show is structured as friendly co-host banter rather than disciplined interviewing; follow-up questions are infrequent and claims go unchallenged. The JP Morgan segment does generate a decent hypothetical scenario question, but hosts mostly affirm each other rather than probe or push back.
“So, like, if I was that female executive, is this not criminal?”
“So if I'm JP Morgan, and sometimes I wish I was, like, how would I handle this now”

The only HR podcast I’ve found that is actually entertaining and inspiring. I’ve been binge listening for months on my commute and will be so sad when I’m caught up to current episodes and can’t listen everyday.
