Five dimensions, 20 points each
The host breaks down two core mechanisms from successful TV series that apply directly to content marketing: open loops and cliffhangers. Open loops are strategic gaps in your messaging - starting a story or promise without fully closing it, forcing the brain to seek completion. Rather than saying "Here are five tips for better content," the host advocates for drama: "There's ONE reason your content isn't converting and chances are high it's not what you think." This approach makes your audience curious enough to swipe, watch, or read further. Cliffhangers work similarly but at the end of content pieces, leaving audiences wanting more and pulling them back to your brand. The key insight: don't reveal everything upfront. Instead, create psychological tension by being deliberately vague and dramatic. This isn't clickbait - it's strategic storytelling. The host emphasizes using these techniques 2-3 times weekly across your feed, hooks, sales pages, and podcast intros. When these mechanisms are woven throughout your entire brand touchpoints, they create an obsession loop that makes audiences unable to ignore you.
An open loop is a mini cliffhanger placed at the beginning of content (your hook, first sentence, opening scene) that creates curiosity by not revealing what you're about to say. A cliffhanger happens at the end of a content piece, leaving audiences hanging so they come back for the next episode or post wanting to know what happens next.
Instead of saying "Here are five tips for better content," create drama by saying something like "There's ONE reason your content isn't converting and chances are high it's not what you think," or "What I'm about to tell you is so controversial that content coaches will hate me for saying it." The goal is to make people curious enough to swipe or read further.
Use them 2-3 times per week across your feed, hooks, and touchpoints. Using them too frequently causes them to lose their power and feel manipulative, but at this frequency they become magical and create obsession with your brand.
The human brain naturally wants stories to be completed and closed loops to be resolved - similar to how an unfinished song loops in your head all day. When you create an open loop, your brain creates psychological tension that you can only resolve by engaging with your full content or coming back for more.
Go through your current feed and review the hooks you've already used, then ask yourself how you could have made them more dramatic or created an open loop. You can recycle old posts with new, more compelling hooks that include open loops rather than creating entirely new content.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode conveys essentially one idea - use open loops and cliffhangers in hooks - stretched thinly across 16 minutes with heavy repetition, throat-clearing, and self-referential filler. The Zeigarnik-adjacent earworm point is mildly interesting but underdeveloped and never named or grounded.
in German we say or warm, which is like a ear warm. Then this happens because your brain wants to continue the song it already knows.
When you feel like its too much then it's exactly right. An open loop lives from drama.
Open loops and cliffhangers are foundational, widely circulated copywriting concepts. The Netflix analogy for content strategy is thoroughly recycled. There is no contrarian angle, no first-principles reasoning, and no novel framework offered.
using mechanisms Good series use also for your content gives you the biggest unfair advantage, You could possibly have.
It'S The Same Thing, when you have a song playing on your head all day long
This is a solo monologue by a coach whose only stated credential is running 'high proximity clients.' No scale, no company, no measurable outcomes are established, and there is no guest - the host is effectively a content-marketing coach speaking to other coaches.
which is exactly part of the work I do with my high proximity clients where we go into every single detail
Not Another Content Challenge. I'm Curious To Read That. Use That Stage Take The Spotlight
There are virtually no concrete data points, named companies, revenue figures, or case studies. All examples are invented generic hooks ('here are three reasons why your content isn't converting') and the only named reference is Netflix as a broad cultural touchstone.
A classical hook would be Something like. here are three reasons why your content isn't convoling.
you will lose massive impact in twenty-twenty six.
This is an unstructured solo monologue with no guest, no interviewer pushback, and no sharpening of ideas through dialogue. The delivery is rambling and self-interrupting, with ideas repeated rather than deepened, and the episode ends mid-topic as a deliberate cliffhanger rather than delivering on its stated premise.
And its... Chances Are High That IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK. or You could also add something and I probably shouldn't talk about that.
This is something But there Is About To Be Continued On Another Day Inside. not another content challenge.

Most content dies the moment people consume it. Not because it's bad. Because there's no reason to keep thinking about it. In this episode, I break down one of the most powerful psychological mechanisms behind binge-worthy content: open loops and cliffhangers. You'll learn why your brain is wired to crave unfinished stories, why most educational content gets forgotten instantly, and how to create content that people can't stop thinking about long after they've closed the app. We'll talk about the difference between giving people information and creating tension, how to make your content impossible to ignore, and why the brands people obsess over rarely answer every question immediately. Because the goal isn't to get a view. The goal is to make people need to know what happens next. Don't aim to go viral. Learn how to live rent free in their heads. **>> More from AIMING HIGH <<** Instagram: [ Website: [

One thing that is typical for series and therefore, typical of Netflix are cliffhangers. And I don't know how often already... I was sitting there just an episode ended.. and i'm looking at Flo my husband saying like they're not serious about that!
They can do it because especially with the most emotional episodes or things in storylines where I am so into it I'm so surprised when the episode ends, because i am so concentrated on what im seeing there. That then it's just such a big surprise that suddenly ends! There is like this one thing...I want to know how it goes on?
I want you to follow along with storyline and continue doing that. And then suddenly they are like uh-uh until at point but not further..and if u wanna know what comes next Who is the kidnapper or what's the secret? You have to watch next episode.
This why people binge want, because they always wanna know What comes Next and using mechanisms Good series use also for your content gives you the biggest unfair advantage, You could possibly have. I personally outplayed the cliffhangers and stuff like that because then i just start the next episode for five minutes And then I know what it is all about! Then I decide when this thing ends And it's at the same time. exactly what you want.
How I use or how i play personally with cliffhangers is, What do you want your people to do? Because You don't want them To be in a state of oh! I want to know whats next. Oh maybe waiting until tomorrow Maybe waiting Until all algorithm shows me about content piece but I know or now want to know everything.
I need you go into her brand, I need to stalker right away because i need to know what's next. this is why we need to talk about cliffhangers and open loops which should use in your content way more often than currently doing. let's go. We were already talking about the from to, and we will need that.
And we talked about storylines...we talked about your core message! Storylines are a thing good brands actually thrive on but there's things you can use right away which then make your content bingeable right away, so you don't have to wait until you build something. You don't need go into all the details and just take your current content and pimp it which I personally love because we do not always create from scratch.
even though a white canvas is great thing or white canvass are great things We dont' always need to create from scratches And this is what we can do with cliffhangers and open loops. You of course, also use that for new content pieces you're creating. So What Do I Mean When I Say Open Loop? What Do i say when I say Cliffhanger?
I already gave the example. with series with Netflix with a cliffhanger thing you know at end of an episode suddenly they let your hang on the cliff. You don't get to know what's the secret. you Don't Get To Know Who Is The Twin?
You Don't Got To Know What's The Dangerous Situation She Just Went Into When Your Brain Wants The Story To Be Continued Because This is How Our Human Brain Works We Want Stories To be Continued. It'S The Same Thing, when you have a song playing on your head all day long in German we say or warm, which is like a ear warm. Then this happens because your brain wants to continue the song it already knows. so Chances are high that you have that song playing in your head all day long because You didn't listen to it till the end.
and so, Your brain tries To end. It's tries to then close The cycle which is the same thing when it comes to storylines When he comes to cliffhangers. we started a story And there We don't know how it ends but we Are So into it That we want to Know How it Continues. Which Is why?
When it just ends like that and we don't get to end or continue, then think about all of them. is priceless because when you have people, not only consume your entire content piece but at the end of your content piece be it a point where they are like okay I need more. i need to know what's next. give me more!
these are cliffhangers. The other concept I was talking about, the open loops is kind of the same thing but it's a mini cliffhanger. It's in the beginning of your post! It's the opening scene of your reel...
it's the first sentence off you're sales page..is the first ten seconds of your podcast episode....It's your hook!! It's THE FIRST THING THEY SEE!!!
And what most people do there is that they on one hand say to less And at the same time, say too much that people don't need to read then get what it is all about. So What do I mean when i say its too less? A typical example of a hook doesn't have an open loop and here are five tips how you can improve your content. Nice!
I know When I read this post will give me five tips on creating better content. Cool, I've already read that a thousand times. What does better content even mean? So this doesn't make sense.
on the one hand because it takes away too much before i swiped and would get five tips how this entire carousel post is built. It doesn't say anything at all, so that when people who just see the hook don't get anything in terms of Oh, this is typical for her brand. Or This Is Her Stand or This IsHerPerspective So it doesn't do anything to you. A hook like Five Tips For Better Content Doesn't Do Anything To You And It Doesn' Also Then Don'T Do Anything When You Get More Specific.
These Are Five Tips That Makes People Fallen Off. If Your Brand The First Second They See You Doesn't Make It Any Better Because Also That It's Vanilla, Vanilla. We Don't Want Vanilla. So when I talk about open loops, it's about telling them something so that even if they wouldn't swipe because they see you just on your Instagram feed.
They don't go into everything and they just scan It would give them Something they can remember. That is something that is on brand for you And then also makes them so curious. I need to read that. I NEED TO KNOW THAT because inside my brain there was created an open loop.
if i don't know how this continues,I can sleep well tonight. so are you ready for some examples and the guidance? How You Can Create on The One Hand Open Loops And On The Other hand Clip Hangers? So let's start with the OPEN loops.
So, as I already mentioned an open loop means that you start something and You don't fully close it. so our brain Don't knows what comes next but wants to know What's Next? A classical hook would be Something like. here are three reasons why your content isn't convoling.
Okay And your brain thinks, like with my example where the five tips for better content. It things okay. I know exactly what i get right now. there is no tension No tension at all.
if you would say something instead Like There's a reason Your content Is not converting and chances are high that it is Not. What do You think? What Do I do there ? It can be this same exact Same post.
That Can Be These Free Reasons. But I'm not only saying there are three reasons why your content is not converting. Just don't tell them they're free reasons, maybe some of them a thing for you. but i say that one reason would be even stronger.
There's ONE reason Your content isn't converting and can give two bonus reasons inside the post. One reason your content doesn't convert and chances are high that it's not what you think. And, It is this addition we need! And its...
Chances Are High That IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK. or You could also add something and I probably shouldn't talk about that. Or content coaches will hate me for talking about that Content Coaches Will Hate Me For Revealing It OR SOMETHING. IF YOU DON'T REALIZE THAT you get left behind And if you don't realize that, You will lose massive impact in twenty-twenty six.
So giving them something where they can grab to. it's about being more dramatic In your hooks. It's about be more dramatic and everything you do is over dramatizing. because when you say here are three reasons why a content isn't converting nice but When I see or when i said there Is A reason Your content is not converting the same way it did last year Or when I say there's a reason your content isn't converting and chances are high that It's not what you think then our brain wants to close That real or that loop.
Not bad really, but look at me And you can see even more things so you can say things like it's now. What do you thing? Is? I almost didn't say this.
people will hate me for saying these. It should be illegal to tell you this and what I'm about to tell is so choosy that it feels kind of illegal. So, You can do all these things. The important thing is To make a drama Overdramatize.
When you feel like its too much then it's exactly right. An open loop lives from drama. Its not clickbait Its' not classical clickbait. in those terms It more or less opens the loop.
Don't tell them what it is. Make them curious about What It Is so that they then need to swipe, Need To Watch in order to find out. So what you can do with the open loops? You go onto your feet and you just go through everything And then pick some of your hooks And then you ask yourself, how could I have made those even more spicy if i would've added an open loop?
If I'd had one of these sentences. You can also come up with your own sentence. These are just examples that came out. So go into the feed and Ask yourself Where Could I Get in More Spice?
Where Could Open a Loop? where didn't do That? Either just recycle those posts, post them again with a new hook or start creating you but train to add open loops To your content. It shouldn't be like every single content piece because when people see You do that all the time All the times it loses its power.
But when you do then two of three times per week? It's magic! And it becomes even more magical when you don't see trust for single content pieces, what? When your things starting in open loops and your entire brand.
big, big things happen inside your brand and you signature offer. And then just only tell people Oh, something is coming but create open loops in a smart way which is exactly part of the work I do with my high proximity clients where we go into every single detail. We're going to every single touch point so that we use things mechanisms like the open loops and the cliffhangers To then draw people into the brand world So they can't get away from it They can't ignore it. It's just not possible, they will get obsessed with it because of all the tiny details we bring into it.
and We already talked about cliffhangers And I would show you a real-time example for a cliffhanger Because inside this training i won't tell You About The Cliffhangers. This is something But there Is About To Be Continued On Another Day Inside. not another content challenge. And in the meantime, let me know what your biggest takeaways from these audio trainings are your hooks, which you pimped with open loops.
Show us your hooks and share your wins everything you implemented from the challenge already. what that did for your brand? What that did For Your Mind? What are The Things You Say?
Yes! These Are Different Since We Started Into. Not Another Content Challenge. I'm Curious To Read That.
