The Independent Hotel Show Miami represents the dedicated annual conference for luxury, boutique, and independent hotel operators across North America, the Caribbean, and Central America. Held September 16-17 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the event curates an exhibit hall with over 200 vendors spanning audio and entertainment, bedding, design and decor, food and drink, housekeeping products, marketing and branding, spa and wellness, and hotel technology solutions. Beyond the exhibit floor, attendees access an innovation stage featuring panels, Q&A sessions, and keynote presentations from industry experts, with substantial networking opportunities throughout both days. Cody Aydent, host of Virtual GM Podcast, offers free registration using code CODY26, making the only dedicated event for the independent hotel sector financially accessible. Previous attendees have included board members from Pineapple Hotels and Miami-based properties who shared their experiences on the podcast. For independent hoteliers seeking vendor relationships, emerging industry trends, and peer networking within the boutique hotel space, this event is positioned as the year's most relevant conference, requiring only flight and hotel bookings once registration is secured.

This episode is almost entirely a promotional advertisement for a trade show, with no actionable strategies, frameworks, or non-obvious claims for hotel operators. The only faintly useful piece of information is a free registration code.

make a whole trip out of it, stay longer, hit the beach, enjoy everything that Miami has to offer
There is zero original thinking in this episode - it is a monologue advertisement for an industry event with no contrarian or first-principles argumentation of any kind.
this is the only dedicated event for the luxury, boutique and independent hotel sector which focuses on hotel industry trends, emerging opportunities for today's hoteliers to help grow their business
It truly is going to be two days of action packed luxury independent information
There is no guest whatsoever in this episode; it is a solo host promo segment. The host shares a golf anecdote and end-of-month admin observations before pivoting to event promotion, offering no practitioner depth.

you are rolling with just me today. Uh, I'll keep it short and sweet for you, but I got some exciting stuff to talk about
The episode provides specific logistical details (dates, venue, promo code, website) but these are event logistics rather than substantive business evidence; no real data, metrics, or named case studies relevant to hotel operations are offered.

Speaker B: you are and however you're listening. Thank you so much being back with us on another episode of the Virtual GM Podcast. Uh, you are rolling with just me today. Uh, I'll keep it short and sweet for you, but I got some exciting stuff to talk about. We're going to be talking about the independent hotel show in Miami, which is September 16th and 17th at the Miami Beach Convention center special. I wanted to get this out, make sure I give you guys plenty of time to book your registration. Um, but let's still start with the segue. Wouldn't be the Virtual Jam podcast without it. Uh, so we are. I can't even believe this, but it's almost July. And so my business best for this week was just prepping all the end of month information, getting our goals set for July, getting all the finances ready and getting, getting those budgets done. And so that's always kind of the busiest time of the month, is right there at the beginning and the end as we prepare, uh, to give ourselves the best chance to be successful as we can. And then if you listen to last week's episode, Megan gave a golf update for her personal best. And I'm gonna do the same today. Had a great round this last weekend. Was able to shoot, uh, 77, which is awesome. Uh, that was a par 71, the course that we played. So that was just six over par. And it was kind of a funny round. I didn't even have, uh, a birdie the entire round. Had some opportunities, but never got one. Uh, but able to just keep the score low, which is great. I did get, uh, myself a new putter. I'd been waiting for years to, to finally get this putter I had my eyes on. Finally pulled the trigger, and it's made all the difference in the world. Funny story, actually. The very first round, I played with it. I'd never even putted it on grass yet in the very first hole, little par four, hit a good drive, got onto the green in my second shot at about a 42t putt breaking right to left and I sank it for a birdie and everyone just started laughing because everyone knew it was my first time using the putter. So putter's been amazing. So shout out to Callaway. Uh, or no, I'm sorry TaylorMade for their spider putter made all the difference in the world for me. So that was pretty fun. Okay, so let's talk about the independent hotel show in Miami. Uh, for all of the listeners to this podcast, this is truly the best for your show for you to go to of the entire year one. You're an amazing location. Uh, uh, always, ah, a good reason to go to Miami. Uh, so many fun things to do, make a whole trip out of it, stay longer, hit the beach, enjoy everything that Miami has to offer. But for the particular business that we are in, this is going to give you all the vendors you want to see, all the relationships you want to make. And so I want to talk a little bit more about what kind of what you can expect for this. So uh, this business event is specifically for luxury, boutique and independent hotels. And what's so exciting is I actually get to give you free registration. So the website that you're going to go to is ww.independent hotelshot.us and I will put that link in the show notes as well but you can use my code Cody26 and that's going to give you guys free registration for the event. And this show is the only dedicated event for the luxury, boutique and independent hotel sector which focuses on hotel industry trends, emerging opportunities for today's hoteliers to help grow their business and, and enrich the g, uh, the guest experience. And so you might be asking yourself, well, who should attend? Uh, it's for all forward thinking, independently minded modern hoteliers from North America, the Caribbean and Central America. And what you will find is a curated exhibit exhibit hall with 200 plus innovative companies from across the hotel supply chain. Accompanied by expert insight from an emerging education program and numerous networking opportunities throughout. The show is tailored to meet the demands of hoteliers committing to enhancing their business. And then exhibitor categories include but are not limited to. We're going to have audio and entertainment, beds and bedding, boutique gift and resort wear, design and decor, food and drink, hotel support services, housekeeping and hotel products, marketing and branding, spa and wellness and technology. So really, uh, uh, and I know for the listeners that we have the demographic that listen to this podcast, this truly is the best event that you can attend. It's Tailor made. It's made for you. Independent hotel shows have been around throughout the world for quite a few time. I believe this is the third year, um, maybe fourth for Miami. I will be there so I'll get an opportunity to meet any of you that are listening. There's going to be so many opportunities to network awesome networking events. Awesome. Of course we're going to have the big exhibit hall, there's going to be the innovation stage where there's going to be panels, Q and A keynotes, uh, so many industry experts that you probably listen to. Along with this podcast, you're going to get the opportunity to meet in person, get to get uh, direct feedback from all of the amazing panelists. It truly is going to be two days of action packed luxury independent information and what I'm going to do. We had a couple of the board members on last year in preparation for the podcast. I think we had three or four different board members who have all been there before and, and shared kind of what you can expect and the experience that you can receive. And so in the show notes for today's episode I'm going to have all of those podcast episodes from last year too. So if you want to learn more about the independent hotel show and, and, and hear directly from people I've attended in previous years, all that information is going to be below for you. Uh uh, we've got the president of Pineapple Hotels. We've got her episode. Uh uh, we've got another amazing, amazing hotel that's right uh uh, there in the heart of Miami. We've got the GM of that property who will be with us, another Miami hotel gm. So a bunch of great industry experts that you can hear from and uh, people have been on the board for years and have really made this show uh uh, what it, what it is. And so I just want to put a reminder out there to get this booked. You've got a couple of months before the show starts. Get your flights booked, get your hotel booked. It's at the Miami Convention Center. There's a hotel right there that's connected to it that you can stay at. And again you want to use code CO uh D Y26. That's going to cover your registration. So all you've got to cover is your, your flights and your hotel and we would absolutely love to see you there. We want this to be the best event yet that they've put on and we're looking to get the largest audience possible to create the best opportunity for all of you to get to meet other like minded professionals and really make a difference for you and your property. So be sure to go to independent hotelshows.us and we will see you in Miami in September. And then go check out the show notes on this one because I'm going to have those additional podcast episodes available for you and then most excuse me, most importantly, get outside. Enjoy your summer. We've just got a couple months left and we will be back next week with an amazing episode.
