After a hiatus from podcasting, the host is back documenting his entrepreneurial journey - specifically the launch of a subscription-based business model he's pursuing. He completed a training course focused on subscription business fundamentals and read "Automated Customer" to build confidence in this new venture. Currently at day 56 of the project, he's setting up payment processing and actively recruiting key personnel: a marketer and another core team member to help automate operations. His aggressive target is $100,000/month in take-home income by the end of September 2019, with a fully hands-off, automated operation running by then. The host was energized by attending Grant Cardone's 10x conference, where he shifted his mindset from focusing on a single business to building multiple revenue streams. This philosophy - driven by the idea that he "didn't come this far just to come this far" - has crystallized his two-year goal to 10x his income. He's also reading Martha Beck's "Finding Your Own North Star" and maintaining daily time with his family while building these ventures.

Key takeaways

  • →The host is launching a subscription-based business 56 days in, targeting $100,000/month take-home within six months using a training course and 'Automated Customer' as foundational resources.
  • →His hiring strategy focuses immediately on two key roles - a marketer and an operations person - to automate the business toward a hands-off model.
  • →After Grant Cardone's 10x conference, his mindset shifted from single-business focus to building multiple income streams within months, with a two-year goal to 10x total income.
  • →Daily family time and personal development (via books like 'Finding Your Own North Star') are core to his lifestyle while scaling multiple businesses.
  • →The core principle driving his expansion is that success in one area obligates him to share knowledge and create value across multiple business models rather than concentrating on just one.

He purchased and completed a subscription business training course about a month before day 56, and read 'Automated Customer' which he found very insightful for building confidence in this new business model.

What is the host's financial goal for his subscription business by September 2019?

His goal is to generate $100,000/month take-home income (before tax) from the subscription business by the end of September, with the entire operation fully functional and hands-off.

What was the impact of Grant Cardone's 10x conference on the host's business strategy?

While he didn't gain technical knowledge, the conference shifted his mindset from focusing on one business to building multiple income streams across several businesses; the speaker's message 'you didn't come this far just to come this far' particularly resonated with him.

What our scoring noted

Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.

Insight Density

1 / 20

The episode contains virtually zero actionable insight for a B2B operator - it is a personal check-in monologue consisting almost entirely of motivational filler and vague status updates. There are no frameworks, no lessons learned, no tactical takeaways.

my mindset wasn't straight. But I'm back at it now
I'm very excited to start podcasting and recording and make a journal of my new adventure

Originality

1 / 20

The only 'idea' presented is a second-hand motivational quote from a Grant Cardone conference, repeated multiple times in the episode. The concept of multiple income streams and '10x' thinking is entirely recycled Cardone-brand content with zero original synthesis.

you don come this far just to come this far
I am committed to 10x my income within two years

Guest Caliber

0 / 20

There are no guests whatsoever. The solo host is an early-stage entrepreneur sharing a personal diary entry about starting a subscription business they have not yet launched. There is no practitioner expertise on display.

i've never done before it going to be very interesting i very excited

Specificity & Evidence

3 / 20

A handful of concrete details exist - a $100K/month revenue goal, a 6-month timeline, and two book titles - but these are aspirational figures with no grounding in data, unit economics, or prior results. No named business, no market, no methodology is described.

My goal is to make $100,000 a month take home before tax from this particular business within six months
the book i believe was called automated customer was very insightful

Conversational Craft

1 / 20

This is an unstructured solo ramble with no interviewing, no questions, no follow-ups, and no intellectual structure. The delivery is stream-of-consciousness with significant repetition and self-correction throughout.

So that's pretty much it for today. I'm very excited to start podcasting and recording and make a journal of my new adventure

Hello everyone, it has been a while since I podcast and I'm back on now. The reason I haven't been podcasting is I've been doing a lot of researching about what I like to do and next for my project and the holidays and everything. There's really no excuse, just my mindset wasn't straight. But I'm back at it now.

so today is march 18 2019 is actually day 56 since i bought this training course tailored to start a business in a subscription style and so yes my next business is going to be subscription-based and i actually have been talking to a lot of people about it and bought training course just finished studying it about a month ago have put together something i also read a book about it the book i believe was called automated customer was very insightful so also gave me some insight and confidence and start a new subscription business which i've never done before it going to be very interesting i very excited so today day 56 my website is about is up Just working on getting the payment processor in place And then today I set my goal is to hire some marketer today and also automate a few other process by hiring another key person.

So hopefully by the end of the day, I will have the ad for hiring these two key person out and start the hiring process. My goal is to make $100,000 a month take home before tax from this particular business within six months. So by September, the end of September, my goal is to have this fully functional, automated, and hands-off. and actually not long ago I attended Green Cardone 10x conference and I haven't learned a lot of technical stuff from that conference however I have learned a lot about mindset and goal setting and it inspired me a lot on that sense I remember one speaker said not necessarily word for word, I'm really bad at quoting, but the idea is you don come this far just to come this far And so I feel like that really resonate for myself So I didn come this far just to come this far and so i feel like that really resonate uh for myself so i didn come this far just to come this far so my mindset has shifted now and instead of having just one income from one business i am going to create multiple income from multiple businesses that i have always thought i'm good at and i'm capable of doing and provide value to my customers the reason i've never done it before is i like to focus on just one thing but now i want to push my limit and get out my comfort zone and do multiple things that um because i feel like like after the conference and talk to other people i feel like like i i owed it to other people because i want to help people as much as i can so why not why share just one one aspect of my life or one expect your mind instead of sharing everything I know.

So that's what I'm about to do. I am committed to 10x my income within two years. So by then this year, things are going to be exciting. So I'm committed to it.

So that's pretty much it. I am spending time with my kid every day and work and then go work out and right now I'm listening to this book that recommended by one of my friend this book is called finding your own North Star it by Martha Beck it been a really good book And I run I listen to it while I run And it give me a few really, how do you say it? Like, I wouldn't say life changing, not quite yet, but really like a wow, oh, uh-huh, that kind of moment. And then it made me, you know, start to take action on certain things that I was contemplating to do.

So I'm very excited about that. So yeah, so I'm kind of, I think I'm halfway through the book and very interesting, very enjoy it. So yeah, so I spend time with my kid every day, majority of my time, that's just my lifestyle I'm committed to. And I work, committed to creating multiple businesses within the next few months.

So the one I mentioned, the subscription business is almost up and running. And then immediately I'm starting another one. We'll tell you more about it as soon as I get it going. So that's pretty much it for today.

I'm very excited to start podcasting and recording and make a journal of my new adventure.
