Source2Pay has evolved far beyond simple cost-cutting into a strategic connective layer that unifies finance, legal, supply chain, and operations into a single intelligent ecosystem. Jessica Franco, Senior Director of Alliances at GEP, explains that organizations leveraging S2P can pivot faster, align spending with business priorities, and respond to market disruptions with confidence - yet only 27% of enterprises feel equipped to respond rapidly to change. GEP's Quantum platform addresses this by eliminating fragmented legacy systems and silos, embedding analytics and proactive insights that help procurement leaders anticipate risk rather than react to it. The real unlock comes through change management and user adoption; even powerful platforms fail if users revert to old habits. Through its partnership with WhatFix, GEP delivers contextual in-app guidance, embedded support, and AI-driven agents that make adoption frictionless and continuous, ensuring digital transformation scales beyond go-live and evolves with the solution.
S2P serves as a connective layer that unifies finance, legal, supply chain, and operations into a single intelligent ecosystem, enabling organizations to pivot faster, align spending with business priorities, and respond to change with confidence from a single source of truth.
GEP Quantum is built on an integrated data foundation that eliminates silos across spend, suppliers, contracts, and operations, transforming procurement from process-driven to intelligence-driven with flexible workflows that adapt to how enterprises actually work, rather than forcing organizations to fit rigid systems.
Change management and user adoption are critical; even the best platform falls short if users don't embrace it, as they naturally revert to old habits when processes feel cumbersome, making embedded contextual guidance and internal change champions essential.
WhatFix brings intelligent in-app guidance and contextual support within GEP Quantum so users don't need to toggle between systems, while also enabling business users to create and iterate training content at the speed of change, ensuring digital transformation scales continuously beyond go-live.
AI-driven agents and behavioral data, combined with in-flow learning and guidance, enable enterprise applications to think and adapt alongside users, making adoption more effective and preparing clients for a future where adoption and intelligence evolve together.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode is almost entirely composed of generic procurement transformation platitudes and product marketing language with virtually no novel, non-obvious claims. The only external data point is a single cited Gartner stat, and even the framing of S2P as a 'connective layer' is standard vendor boilerplate.
Change management today goes far beyond, you know, the traditional training. It's about meeting users where they are.
The companies that are going to succeed and that succeed are those moving from reactive firefighting to more proactive insight-led procurement
There is no contrarian, first-principles, or counterintuitive thinking anywhere in the episode. Every point made - legacy systems bad, change management critical, AI will improve things - is recycled standard B2B SaaS vendor content with no fresh angle.
It unifies what were once separate processes into a single intelligent ecosystem
our AI-first solution allows teams to adapt and fast-track modernization
Jessica Franco holds a senior title at a legitimate and well-regarded procurement software company (GEP), giving her some credibility, but her role is Alliances - a partnership and BD function - rather than an operator who has implemented S2P at scale. Her answers reflect a vendor marketing perspective rather than hard-won practitioner experience.
at GEP, we've built our solutions with that reality in mind
This partnership has been so fantastic, right? And we've seen some of these outcomes and value add and value impact at several joint clients
The episode contains a single cited external data point (a Gartner survey) and some product names (GEP Smart, GEP Quantum), but offers zero named client examples, zero concrete metrics, no dollar figures, no timelines, and no case study details - just vague references to 'several joint clients' and undefined outcomes.
a recent gartner survey mentions that only 27 percent of the organizations feel they can respond rapidly to market disruptions
we've seen some of these outcomes and value add and value impact at several joint clients
This is an explicitly co-branded partner marketing podcast where the host (a WhatFix marketing director) lobs entirely predictable setup questions at a GEP alliances executive. There is no pushback, no challenging of claims, and no follow-up that goes beyond inviting the guest to expand on their own talking points. The host even pre-signals his own questions as 'quite often asked.'
First up, why is S2P the financial backbone of an enterprise? I know this is something that's quite often asked, but I think this is where we should start
This has been really engaging and a rich conversation, Jessica. Thank you for walking us through not just how GEP is reimagining procurement

I'm your host Rajesh Pantinna, Director of Enterprise Marketing at WhatFix And today, we are diving into the most mission-critical engines of enterprise transformation, Source2Pay. And we'll unpack how Source2Pay, S2P, has evolved into a strategic backbone connecting finance, IT, supply chain and compliance, and how change management and digital adoption are central to maximize your ROI from S2P systems.
Of course, we'll also discuss how GEP and WhatFix are partnering to make S2P technology, change and process adoption frictionless, scalable, and measurable. Joining me today is someone who is driving this from the front, Jessica Franco, Senior Director of Alliances at GEP. Jessica, really thrilled to have you on the show. Welcome.
Thank you, Rudresh. Excited to be here. Appreciate the opportunity. Excited for our dialogue today.
Awesome. Awesome. So I'll dive right in. First up, why is S2P the financial backbone of an enterprise?
I know this is something that's quite often asked, but I think this is where we should start and just lay the foundation. Over to you. Yeah, no, thank you. I think that's a great starting point to our discussion today.
The way I like to frame it is that source to pay, right, S to P, serves as that connective layer across finance, legal, supply chain, and operations, right? It unifies what were once separate processes into a single intelligent ecosystem. So when these functions operate from one single source of truth, right, these organizations we're seeing, right, can pivot faster, align spending with business priorities, respond to change with confidence. Our clients that are using Source2Pay, S2P, are doing more than just savings or compliance.
They're unlocking strategic supplier collaborations and gaining transparency across global operations. AI-powered solutions like GEP Smart help organizations move faster, make smarter decisions, and engage more strategically with these suppliers. yeah and i love how you called it out because every time s2p is talked about it seems like cost savings it's just that that seems to be the you know agenda but it's clearly much more than that and actually taking that a bit forward and applying it to the current global context a recent gartner survey mentions that only 27 percent of the organizations feel they can respond rapidly to market disruptions.
Do you wonder if these numbers are really too low? And how do you think leading organizations should transform their S2P strategy, keeping in mind increased volatility, whether it's supply shocks or new regulatory shifts? Yeah. I know that number seems stark, right?
And honestly, that number doesn't surprise me, Rajesh. It's a clear indicator of how many organizations are still constrained by these rigid legacy systems The organizations that struggle are typically constrained by fragmented ERPs and these legacy source-to-pay S2P systems that rely on siloed processes and siloed data. To your question, today's environment, and I feel like we'll be talking about this consistently throughout our conversation today, demand streamlined, data-driven, flexible solutions that allow these businesses to adjust quickly when, you know, supply shocks or regulatory changes hit.
The companies that are going to succeed and that succeed are those moving from reactive firefighting to more proactive insight-led procurement, organizations that are using data as a strategic asset. And so, you know, at GEP, we've built our solutions with that reality in mind. Our AI-first solution allows teams to adapt and fast-track modernization. And, you know, our AI first solution provides that embedded analytics that give these procurement leaders the foresight to anticipate risk, right?
I know you asked about that instead of reacting to it. Yeah. And I do remember last year looking at basically the sneak peek into quantum and that was really mind blowing because you actually not just made the analytics available, you were directing steps. You were giving people headless, basically, you know, next steps moving from one system to the other.
And that really takes me to the next question that I have. What led GEP to develop quantum and how does it differ from legacy platforms? Yeah, absolutely. I appreciate that question.
So GDP Quantum was born from the need to unify fragmented procurement and supply chain systems into a single intelligent platform that connects data, decision, and execution. It's built on an integrated data foundation. It eliminates those silos, right? We're talking about those legacy, right?
It eliminates the silos across spend, suppliers, contracts, and operations. It enables a continuous flow of insight to action. Its flexible workflow engine adapts to how enterprises actually work, right? Not the other way around.
So I would say, you know, Rajesh, in essence, GEP Quantum was created to transform enterprise procurement from process driven to intelligence driven, empowering teams to manage every dollar and outcome with speed, precision and foresight. The crux to this really is, right, it's to compete in today's global economy. Procurement can't be fragmented. It must be streamlined.
It must be smart. It has to be adaptive and user-friendly. Yeah, amazing. And like I was saying, the last time I had seen like quantum in action, I do remember a specific use case where it was not just about, like I was talking, like, you know, you can go anywhere with the next steps and get approvals, et cetera.
Also so proactive, like you called out that if there is a contractor if there a vendor who is basically not you know assigned the right kind of permissions is not basically a part of that particular procurement cycle you can actually eliminate that right at the start of the, you know, raise of the purchase acquisition, raise of whatever, like, you know, first step that the individual is doing, procurement individual. So really, really amazing, right? But I do feel whenever, you know, we talk about a lot of these coming into play and especially large scale implementations, the solution works well on paper, but real success depends on how users embrace that change.
Right. And like you said, it's large enterprises, it's global operations. Everybody needs to be on the same page. So we've often heard people's side of transformation is the most challenging part.
From your side of things, how vital is this change management and user adoption? Absolutely. And it's certainly a very important topic. It's one that we are very cognizant and aware about when we are leading these global transformations and having these discussions with global operations and clients.
clients. But, you know, very simply, Rajesh, it's absolutely critical. You know, even the most powerful solution will fall short if users don't embrace it, right? Change management today goes far beyond, you know, the traditional training.
It's about meeting users where they are. It's about meeting them with contextual in-app guidance. If processes feel cumbersome or unintuitive, people naturally will revert to old working ways, right? Or old habits.
Simplifying workflows and embedding support directly into the experience dramatically reduces that friction, right? So we've also seen that true success can also hinge on building those internal change champions, right? And I know this topic is near and dear to Wuffix, right? But building those internal change champions, securing genuine top-down buy-in to drive adoption, which makes that new path the path of least resistance.
Yeah, yeah. And I know like how you mentioned that WhatFix and GEP have like really driven seamless change management, but there is also the aspect of ensuring data integrity, strengthened compliance, because you talked about cumbersome processes. These are clear signs that when digital option is done right, the results are really transformational and that digital transformation is effective. in itself.
I'm really curious to hear your thoughts, Jessica, on how you see that we are together boosting adoption and positively impacting core business outcomes from an S2P standpoint. Yes, and I appreciate that, Rajesh. I think, you know, first off, this partnership has been so fantastic, right? And we've seen some of these outcomes and value add and value impact at several joint clients, right?
But, you know, overall, what I can say is WhatFix brings that powerful layer of intelligence, of intelligent guidance, right, within GEP. So users don't have to toggle between systems or guess what comes next, right? It truly creates that intuitive experience With WhatFix clients can create and iterate training content at the speed of change empowering these business users once again right to lead that enablement themselves. This is huge going back to what we are talking about, right, in these complex initiatives with these large global organizations where change is constant.
This really ensures that digital transformation doesn't stop at GoLive. It continues to scale as the solution evolves, but it also scales with usage. Yeah. Yeah.
And actually, like you mentioned a few minutes ago about the fact that there is also AI now, and that is basically also actually catalyzing change so much. What are your thoughts on the joint roadmap for GEP and WhatFix and how we are preparing clients for a future that's defined by AI, behavioral data, and like you said, like in the flow learning, in the flow guidance. I'm definitely excited for what's ahead for us too. But I could say, you know, looking ahead, GEP and WhatFix are aligned on a vision where enterprise applications think and adapt alongside users, right?
The GEP and WhatFix partnership ensures that as GEP evolves, right, as our solution evolves, our clients' adoption efforts also evolve seamlessly, right, ensuring that long-term scalable success. At the end of the day, that's what we care about. Our clients are of the utmost importance for GEP, And I know that they're also of the utmost importance for WhatFix, right? So by combining our GEP, AI first quantum platform with WhatFix's real time digital adaption platform and learning capabilities, I do believe that we're preparing our clients for a future where adoption and intelligence are capable of.
continuous. Yeah, yeah. I'm really looking forward to how this pans out because even WhatFix is now powering a lot of basically AI-driven agents within the product, insights agents, authoring agents, et cetera. And that's going to like transform things as well, manifold, right?
Not just the old in-app guidance. It's basically going to get far more effective. Yeah, and GenTech AI, right, is critical. You know, it's something that we are at the forefront of.
So to your point, right, I know that that's going to also continue to evolve, you know, our solution, but also our partnership, right, and what that looks like. So I'm very excited to see what's ahead for us, too. Awesome, awesome. This has been really engaging and a rich conversation, Jessica.
Thank you for walking us through not just how GEP is reimagining procurement, but also how you are making transformation measurable and adaptive to users through our partnership, especially with their global supply chain that affects all the departments that we talked about. Thank you. Oh, sorry. Go ahead.
Yeah. No, amazing. I know. Thanks, Jessica.
