Episode notes

Hello to you listening in Flushing, Queens, New York ! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. Maybe like me you stop and wonder: who am I right now, how do I describe myself, what nourishes me ? It’s scary, isn’t it, not to have the answers. Perhaps there is great wisdom in resting there, not resisting, not pushing back, but trusting that the answer will come in due time. The poet Derek Walcott knows that while we may have forgotten who we are, who we are has not forgotten us. His poem, Love After Love , suggests a great joy in coming face-to-face with the one who knows us by heart: Love After Love “The time will come when, with elation you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome, and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart.
