Dr. Patrick Finn, Ph.D. is President and COO of Twist Bioscience ( ), a company that’s helping turn biology into something you can engineer, iterate, and even industrialize. Dr. Finn has spent his entire career building the infrastructure layer of modern biotech - from sequencing and sample prep at Beckman Coulter and Invitrogen, to scaling commercial platforms at Agilent Technologies and now Twist. Dr. Finn also served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Enzymatics (recently acquired by QIAGEN), leading commercial activities for North America and Europe, delivering significant top line growth and expanding the base of business to business customers. So this isn’t just a conversation about the future - it’s about how the tools that make the future possible are actually built and deployed. On this episode we go beyond the buzzwords and dig into what it really means to “program biology”, and how close we actually are to designing medicines the way we design software.
