We’ve all been there. You’re sitting across from someone you hope will hire you, there’s the potential for real money, and they ask you to do what they think is just a little bit of work on spec for free. Not to mention they want you to submit a proposal before they commit. You might have said okay and done that work, submitted that proposal, and crossed your fingers. Maybe you booked that client in the end, maybe you didn’t. But you probably didn’t feel great about it either way. This just happened to one of the students in the current No BS Mastery cohort. The difference was that not only did she hold her boundary of not working for free, but she also had a clear way to follow up by sending them the link to her LP. People talk about boundaries like they're a mindset problem. You just have to believe in yourself and you’ll stop doing work for free and charging what you’re worth. But I don’t think that’s really how it works. I think boundaries have a lot more to do with structure. Because when you have the right structure, boundaries are really easy to hold.
