Five dimensions, 20 points each
In the final episode of a four-part self-leadership series, Bernie Borges delivers the 90-Day Self Leadership Blueprint - a structured planning tool designed to survive real life's interruptions. Unlike typical goal-setting frameworks that collapse under pressure, this blueprint begins with an anchor statement (your personal why), then isolates three specific moves rather than ten competing goals. Each move includes repeatable action steps and a "two-minute start" to eliminate activation friction. The framework incorporates accountability through a partner relationship, physical visibility reminders, and honest checkpoints at days 30, 60, and 93 to maintain progress visibility. Critically, Borges addresses the three enemies that derail most plans: time compression (when busy weeks displace new behaviors), identity friction (when one missed day becomes a story about who you are), and re-entry failure (when gaps feel insurmountable). The blueprint offers tactical defenses - either systems-based protocols (if-then structures) or meaning-based reinforcements (why statement reviews) depending on how you're wired. Designed for leaders facing job transitions, career plateaus, or life imbalance, the free tool takes 15 minutes to complete and is built for iteration across all five life pillars over time.
It's a free planning tool from Bernie Borges available in the show notes at fulfilledatworkacademy.com that takes about 15 minutes to complete and guides you through building a durable 90-day change plan around one of five life pillars (health, fitness, career, relationships, legacy).
Plans typically fail when life pushes back - not at the start - because they lack a personal anchor (why), don't account for time compression during busy weeks, trigger identity shame after one missed day, or offer no structured re-entry path after gaps, causing quiet abandonment rather than restart.
Time compression (busy weeks cause you to drop the new behavior first), identity friction (one missed day becomes a story about who you are and becomes an exit ramp), and re-entry failure (missing several days makes you feel too far behind to restart).
It's the smallest possible version of your planned move that you can do in the first week, designed so that starting the plan never feels heavy or overwhelming.
The blueprint includes honest check-ins at day 30, day 60, and day 93 to track what's working, what's drifting, and what needs adjustment - because progress you can't see is easy to abandon.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode offers a structured framework (the 90-Day Self Leadership Blueprint) with some useful tactical specifics like 'two minute start' and the three enemies of plans (Time Compression, Identity Friction, Re-entry Failure). However, much of the content is repetitive recap of a four-part series, and core concepts like 'self leadership' and the five pillars remain largely conceptual without deep new insights. The insight density is moderate but diluted by promotional material and recap.
A plan that's designed from the start to survive a busy week
the blueprint has you identify in advance the exact moment that's most likely to knock you off track
The five pillars framework (Health, Fitness, Career, Relationships, Legacy) and the 90-day planning cycle are well-established in self-help and coaching literature. The 'friction-proofing' concept of pre-identifying failure points is sensible but not particularly novel. The observation that job loss and career 'emptiness at the top' are structurally similar is somewhat counterintuitive, but the overall thinking is mainstream life coaching doctrine without contrarian or first-principles reasoning.
A life balanced on one support isn't strong, it's just upright until the day that it isn't
The person who lost their job and the person who climbed all the way to the top and quietly thought, hey, wait, is this it? Those two people are standing in the exact same spot
This is a solo episode by Bernie Borges, the host/CEO of Fulfill the Work Academy, promoting his own coaching program and free blueprint. There are no external guests with operational track records or practitioner credibility to evaluate. The speaker is self-referential and selling his own methodology without third-party validation or guests who have executed at scale outside his ecosystem.
I'm Bernie Borges. I'm the CEO of Fulfill the Work Academy
This is the process I went through myself and it's the process that I use in my group coaching programs
The episode provides some concrete tactical details: 'three moves, not 10 goals,' 'day 30, day 60, day 93' checkpoints, 'two minute start,' and the three named friction enemies. However, there are zero named examples of real companies, individuals, or quantified outcomes. No metrics, data, timelines, or dollar figures are provided. The framework is outlined but lacks grounding in specific case studies or measurable results.
Three moves, not 10 goals. Three enough to create real change, also few enough that you'll actually do them
Day 30, day 60, day 93. Honest check ins on what's working, what's drifting, and what you'll adjust
This is a solo monologue with no guest interaction or host-driven questioning. The speaker reads through his framework methodically without pushback, critique, or genuine inquiry. There are no moments of productive disagreement, sharp follow-ups, or real curiosity about counterarguments. The delivery is structured and clear but lacks the conversational dynamism that would signal strong interviewing or thought-testing craft.
Let me walk you through the blueprint, what it actually is

Most plans don't fail on day one. They fail the first time a busy week, a bad day, or a missed morning shows up and knocks you off track. In this final episode of the Self Leadership series, I hand you the tool I’ve been promising since episode one: the 90-Day Self Leadership Blueprint. This isn't another worksheet you'll fill out once and forget. It's a plan built with a defense system already inside it, because the real test was never starting. It's staying in it when life pushes back. Who This Is For This episode is for two people who might not think they belong in the same room. The first is anyone in the middle of a hard job search, watching good applications disappear into AI screening systems with no explanation. The second is the high achiever who got everything they were chasing and quietly wondered, "wait, is this it?" If either one sounds like you, or someone you know, this episode closes the loop on the whole series with a concrete, 90-day plan you can start building today. Five Takeaways Insight fades. Plans don't, if you build them right. Three episodes of insight can move you emotionally for a few days, but without a structure to hold it, life swallows it back up.

Speaker C: this episode is also available on, um, my fulfilled leadership YouTube channel. The link is in the show Notes if you're just finding this episode welcome. This is part four, the last one in a four part series on self leadership. And if you haven't caught the first three episodes, no worries. Let me get you caught up in about a minute or so because you're going to want the context, the full context for what I'm handing you today. In episode one of this series, which is actually episode 291 of the podcast, I talked about what it feels like when the ground moves underneath you. The job market has gotten strange. Really strange and really hard. Many talented, skilled and experienced people are getting screened out by technology that they can't see and can't control. I made the case that when circumstances stop responding to you, the one thing that you can control is how you respond. And that's self leadership. Now in episode two of four in this series, aka episode 292 of the pod, I asked you to look at the actual structure of your life. I used the picture of a roof that's held up by a single column, and for a lot of us, that one column is our work. But but a life balanced on one support isn't strong, it's just upright until the day that it isn't. Now I gave you the five pillars that real life actually stands on. Health, fitness, Career, Relationships, and legacy. These pillars represent the foundational platform for all my work in leadership. And then in episode 3 of 4 aka episode 293 of the pod, I told you something that surprised a lot of you. The person who lost their job and the person who climbed all the way to the top and quietly thought, hey, wait, is this it? Those two people are standing in the exact same spot. One drifted there through loss and one drifted there through winning. But it's the same structural problem. And I told you that before either one of them decides what to do next. They need to take an honest inventory of where their life and their values actually are right now. And that's where I left you with an inventory Call to action but no plan. So today, when you need to build

Speaker C: jobs on episode four of four in this series, aka episode 294 of the pod. I'm going to make good on the promise that I made you back in the first episode. Today's the day that I hand you the tool. Hey, I'm Bernie Borges. I'm the CEO of Fulfill the Work Academy and I'm glad you're here for this one, because this is the episode where the whole series has been building toward. So my style is to shoot straight with you. And here's the thing. Insight doesn't change your life. I mean, I could give you the sharpest three episodes that I've ever recorded on Self leadership. And if that's all you walked away with, you'd probably feel something for a few days if you're lucky, and then life would swallow it back up. Now, that's not a knock on you. That's just how insight works. It fades unless you build something around it. So the last thing that I want to leave you with is just another idea or another insight. What you actually need is a plan. Not a vague one. Not a list of good intentions on a sticky note that you write in January and then forget by February. I mean, a real plan, A plan that's built around what you actually value. A plan that's designed from the start to survive a busy week. Because a busy week is exactly what's going to try to kill it. And that's what I built. It's called the 90 Day Self Leadership Blueprint and it's free. You can find it in the show notes. Let me walk you through the blueprint, what it actually is. Because I don't want this to be some vague mystery box. I want you to know exactly what you're getting when you download it. Now, incidentally, if you're listening to this on an audio podcast player, I strongly encourage you to click over to the video when your situation allows. Not while you're driving, obviously, because I'm showing screenshots of of the blueprint on the video. So this is one episode that I really recommend that you watch on video. Now, the 90 day self leadership blueprint starts with your anchor. You see, before you commit to a single action, the blueprint asks you to acknowledge the why behind it. The why. Because when a week gets hard, and it will, this is the line that you come back to. Most plans skip this part and jump straight into the tactics. And that's usually why they fail. Then the blueprint narrows to three moves, not 10 goals. Three enough to create real change, also few enough that you'll actually do them. And for each move, you're not just writing down what you want to happen, you're identifying the specific action, the repeatable steps behind it, and what I call the two minute start, which is the smallest possible version of that move that you can do this week so that starting never feels heavy. Now, you also set a cadence and a signal that some way of knowing that it's working before that big result even ever shows up. Because if the only feedback that you get is the end result, well, then this plan will be like others that you've attempted before and you're more likely to quit long before you get there. Then the blueprint gets into accountability and visibility. You identify one person who's in this with you that you can turn to at any moment for support and accountability. Now, uh, here's a pro tip. Offer that person to be an accountability partner to them for high powered mutual accountability. Now, you'll also identify one physical reminder that puts the plan in front of you when you're not thinking about it. An old fashioned sticky note or maybe an item on your calendar or just a few examples of how you can approach this. Out of sight is out of mind. And a plan that lives only in a PDF and in your head doesn't survive contact in a real week. Then come the checkpoints. Day 30, day 60, day 93. Honest check ins on what's working, what's drifting, and what you'll adjust. Progress that you can't see is easy to abandon. And these checkpoints keep it visible. Then there's the Part that I'm actually the proudest of. The Friction Proving Plan look here's the honest truth about plans. Most of them don't fail at, uh, the start. They fail the first time life pushes back. So the blueprint has you identify in advance the exact moment that's most likely to knock you off track. And it identifies three enemies that almost every plan runs into. Here they are. Number one, Time Compression.
Speaker D: Hey, it's Christy from Lululemon. I'm in the office with what's New, and the Breezily Collection has definitely caught my eye. There's a Breezily tank, shorts and pants, all in our Swift fabric, which is super lightweight and stretchy. Speaker C: when the Week gets busy and the new behavior is the first thing that gets dropped. Number two, Identity friction. When one missed day turns into a story in your head about who you are and that story becomes an exit ramp for your plan. And number three, re entry failure. When you miss a few days, you feel behind and you quietly walk away rather than restarting the plan you see. Once you know your enemy, you can choose your defense. If you're wired for systems, you'll build an if, then protocol for your hardest moment. Something like, if I can't do the thing that I planned today, I'm going to put it on my calendar for not less than three days from now. Or if you're wired for meaning, you'll build a daily reinforcement and an identity anchor instead. Something like, if I can't do the thing that I planned today, I'm going to revisit my why statement to remind myself where this fits in my life's priorities. Either way, you're not hoping the plan holds, you're building it to hold. And last, the blueprint doesn't stop at one life pillar. Once you've worked through health or fitness or career or relationships or legacy, whichever one that you're prioritizing first, there's a template that's built right in so that you can come back and run this same process for the next pillar. This isn't a one time worksheet, it's a tool that you can use again and again. So who is this blueprint for? Well, let, uh, me be clear about something. This is not just for the person who's in the middle of a hard job search. And it's not only for the person that's secretly wondering why they're empty at the top. It's for both of you. Because you're closer to the same place than you think. If any part of this four part series landed for you, whether you're rebuilding a support that got knocked out or building width and depth under a life that's been standing on one tall column for too long, this blueprint is where that work starts. Why 90 days? So let me address that because you might be wondering why I call it a 90 day blueprint. Simply stated, 90 days is a reasonable and measurable time period to plan and take action. Action that can move the needle in one of your life pillars. Look, life goes on beyond the initial 90 days, obviously. And it's my hope that you'll use the blueprint to evolve your plan well beyond those 90 days. Now, are you wondering why I'm doing this? It's pretty simple. This is the process I went through myself and it's the process that I use in my group coaching programs. In fact, I remember the first time someone in one of my coaching programs asked me why I didn't share this blueprint more broadly with others. I didn't have a good answer. I believe that question came to me for a reason. For this reason, to share it with you and anyone that you think should have it. So here's the call to action. Get your 90 day self leadership blueprint. Here's exactly where to get it. Go to the show notes for this episode and you'll find a link to a page on my website at fulfilledatworkacademy. Again, it's free and it takes about 15 minutes to work through. And I'd, uh, encourage you to actually sit down with it rather than skimming it on your phone or when you're sitting at a red light in your car or in a waiting room. Give it the honesty that it deserves. That you deserve. No one's going to grade your blueprint. No one, that is, except you. You. So if this series, this four part series landed with you, the best thing that you can do is share it with someone who needs it. Maybe that's a friend in the middle of a hard job search. Maybe it's someone who looks like they have it all and they can't figure out why it's not enough. Either way, they deserve to hear it. Even if you only share this episode because I'll link up the first three episodes in the Show Notes. Just share it with them. And if you share it on social media, use the hashtag 90day Blueprint now. If you want to explore participating in the 90 day self leadership group cohort, which is comprised of between five and 10 people where we meet virtually, you can let me know by responding to the email that you'll receive when you download the Blueprint. Now. I intentionally keep these cohorts small and I only do a handful of them throughout the year due to the demands that my corporate programs put on my schedule. Hey, if we're not connected on the socials, you can connect with me and subscribe to my weekly newsletter where I unpack leadership and self leadership topics every week. The subscription link to my newsletter is in the Show Notes. I'm, um, Bernie Borges, your fulfillment architect and your self Leadership architect.
