I've been quiet, but I'm back with big changes to serve you better

Jim A. James & The UnNoticed Entrepreneur · 2025-05-20 · 9 min

0:00--:--

Jim A. James returns to The UnNoticed Entrepreneur with a strategic reboot focused on serving audience needs rather than simply publishing content. He's launched theunnoticedentrepreneur.com, a new magazine-style website featuring embedded article players, podcast episodes, and a digital twin AI indexed on 800+ past interviews - allowing listeners to ask questions of both Jim and his entrepreneurial guests. The channel has been streamlined on YouTube to improve algorithmic categorization. Most significantly, Jim has partnered with NatWest Bank to pilot three full-fledged business interviews with UK accelerator entrepreneurs: Charlotte Lang (content agency), Charlie Taylor (wine bar), and Amber Probin and Hazel McShane (Piqual, the world's first women's urinal). These NatWest-sponsored interviews air Thursdays and dive deeper into pricing, capital raising, cash flow, people, and mindset - broader territory than his previous functional marketing focus. Going forward, Jim plans Tuesday "M Insights" sessions drawing on 30 years of business leadership experience across Singapore, China, and India. He's explicitly asking the audience to shape the show's direction via survey at theunnoticedentrepreneur.com, inviting listeners to identify which guests, questions, and business problems would be most valuable.

Key takeaways

  • →Jim is launching a multi-format content platform combining written articles, podcast episodes, and an AI digital twin indexed on all past interviews to answer questions about featured entrepreneurs.
  • →The show is shifting to a more audience-driven model where listeners can request specific guest types and business topics they need answered through a survey form.
  • →NatWest Bank partnership episodes will feature full-fledged business interviews covering pricing, fundraising, cash flow, people management, and mindset rather than just marketing-focused content.
  • →Jim will introduce Tuesday 'Insights' episodes where he shares observations on trending topics and business challenges based on his 30 years of experience, with viewers able to submit questions.
  • →The creator acknowledges past gaps in listener engagement despite 800+ episodes and is committing to build deeper relationships by understanding what problems audiences are actually trying to solve.

Get Noticed! Send a text. In this episode, I share what I’ve been up to lately, including launching my new website and magazine for The Unnoticed Entrepreneur. I talk about how you can now read articles, listen to podcast episodes, and even interact with my digital twin to ask questions. I’ve also updated my YouTube channel to make it more focused. I announce a special series of interviews with entrepreneurs from the NatWest Accelerator program and invite you to let me know what kinds of guests and topics you want to hear about. My goal is to build a more interactive relationship with you, so I’ll be adding a survey and doing more solo insight episodes. I also encourage you to

Speaker A: Hey, it's Jim here. I know that I have not been around so much, so I want to take this opportunity to first of all, apologize. I've been offline. I want to explain why I've been offline, what's happening and what's coming next on the Unnoticed Entrepreneur. Uh, couple of things then to share with you. First of all, I built a new website, a new magazine, and it's at, uh, theunnoticedentrepreneur.com I have started to post on their articles and I've embedded the player so that you can actually listen to the article if you want to. And there is also an embed of the podcast episode. So the idea is that you can listen to the article that I've written, you can listen to the episode that's there because they're not quite the same thing. One is a summary of the other. And then I've also added in a player which can follow you across the different pages so that you can actually listen to a podcast whilst you're reading. The idea is that it becomes really one page with different ways to interact with the content. And speaking of interaction, what I've also done is to embed the digital twin that I have, which is really indexed on all the podcast interviews. So when you have a question, you can actually just click on the little orange dialog box in the bottom right hand side of the screen and it'll take you to the digital twin and you can ask questions of not just me, but the battalion of entrepreneurs who have been on this show. So the idea is that then you can listen to the show, you can read about the show, and also then you can ask questions as well. I've still got the YouTube, of course channel and I've updated that as well. And you can find that at the Unnoticed Entrepreneur as well. That's a bit more streamlined. I've removed some of the dead lists that I had there and removed some of the personal items that I had on there. Because what I was understanding was that YouTube doesn't know how to categorize channel if it has all kinds of random information on there. I had things like my dad speaking about his life story and I had me planting some trees. Interesting. Uh, enough. Both of those were very popular, but maybe that's a story for another, another channel. So I've tidied up the channel. And the other thing that I have as big news is a pilot that's being run with the NatWest Bank. NatWest bank in the UK is one of the largest Banks and we have created three episodes with entrepreneurs based in the UK that have been evolved in the accelerator. And I've interviewed those three down here in Bristol actually as a pilot. So you will hear three people. Charlotte Lang who's built a content agency, Charlie Taylor who has built a wine bar because he was allergic to wine and so he's built a wine bar to solve that problem. And also Amber Probin who along with her co founder Hazel McShane started the world's first women's urinal, uh, called Piqual. And they supplying those to the London Marathon for example in the Glastonbury. Three great stories, three interviews. There are also then videos of those on YouTube. And what I've also done is to make those into articles on the new magazine uh, website. So you'll find the fully fledged sponsored by NatWest articles and those are appearing on the Thursday first of all coming out on when on Thursday the 22nd, then 29th and then June 5th. I have not been posting as many episodes generally and I have a large backlog of people that have applied to be on the show. About 30 applicants are uh, in my review list. What would be really useful for me is if you could let me know what kind of guests and uh, what kind of information you would like me to find for you. Because I have all manner of people apply to come and share the mic. Everyone has a great story but I'm mindful of sharing information no one's interested in and I'm interested in really serving you with finding the answers. So I'm going to actually put a survey form on theunnoticedentrepreneur.com so you could let me know what kind of questions you'd like me to ask of what kind of guests. So what, what problems are you trying to solve? I can go and find those people and ask those questions and get you the answers. What I want to try and do going forward is to build really a much deeper and better relationship with you. I have been creating content over 800 episodes but uh, I haven't really managed to connect with you. You haven't told me what you need and I probably am guilty of not asking you enough what you need. I've had this deluge of people applying to be on the show and I have been grateful they wanted to come on the show, been fascinated by all of their stories. But this is supposed to be a two way medium, not just a one way medium. And so this show is for you, not for me. Actually I'm here to serve you with solving the problems that, that you have. The NatWest accelerator interviews are uh, a little bit different. They are a full fledged business interview. We talk about pricing, we talk about raising money, we talk about cash flow, we talk about people, talk about mindset. If you find that a more interesting and broader interview, then also let me know because I'm also questioning the focus of the show. Should I expand it to include a slightly broader remit or should I stay on the more functional side of marketing and even dive into the AI and how AI is being used? Or is it a bit of all of those things? I do work as a business coach and I've just recently won a very large client out of America, which is wonderful. And that's teaching me again what it's like to be an entrepreneur, um, and just some of the questions that they are facing. And I have some clients here that I coach as well with their, uh, branding and ah, business strategies and that's also a source of inspiration for the show lineup. You let me know the kind of questions that you've got and the kind of problems that you're facing and I will do my best to find the answers. In the next three weeks, you are going to have NatWest accelerator entrepreneurs coming on the mic on Thursdays and on a Tuesday, I'm going to get involved by doing my M Insights. I haven't done this very much since I first started the podcast. And when I started the podcast back in 2019, 2020, I actually recorded over 200 episodes with just me speaking six, seven days a week. I was in the garden shed during lockdown. I must have been mad, but I certainly nearly drove myself mad, which is why I started to interview people. Some of those early shows, uh, are still some of the highest ranked shows, like what we could learn about PR by the withdrawal of the American troops from Afghanistan. I did a case study on the PR around the messaging on the American troops coming out of Afghanistan, for example. I don't necessarily have to get political, but I have observations. I can talk about things that are trending, but I can also talk about some of the challenges that people are facing as they grow their business and also as they look to do things like appoint a PR firm or work with an agency. So I'm going to take a Tuesday where I do a shorter session, maybe 10, 15 minutes where I share some of my insights and observations with you so you can ask me questions that you'd like me to answer. More than happy to do that. I have 30 years of experience running businesses in Singapore, China, uh, India. I built teams. I've also worked in house and run other people's companies. I'm going to work to bring that expertise on the Tuesdays. Thank you so much for listening. And sign up to the newsletter@theunnoticedentrepreneur.com because then we can stay in touch and then I can give you information in every format known to man. All right. Have a great week. It.
