Alexander Tower argues that most entrepreneurs focus on the wrong variables when sales stall. Rather than tweaking product, video production, or headlines, the real blocker is prospect psychology - specifically three interconnected belief systems that determine purchase decisions. External belief concerns whether the prospect trusts you over other gurus and scammers in the market. Internal belief centers on self-limiting thoughts: "I'm not smart enough," "I don't have the money," "I'm not tech-savvy enough." The third, opportunity belief, asks whether the prospect sees your solution as the right vehicle to bridge their current state and desired outcome. Tower uses real examples - a life coach with low course sales, a dentist who dismissed a high-ticket service strategy - to show how even strong content fails if messaging doesn't dismantle these belief barriers. The insight applies across service businesses: coaches, consultants, professionals. Operators building courses, programs, or services will recognize missed revenue hiding in unaddressed prospect psychology rather than in the offer itself.

Key takeaways

  • →The number one reason prospects don't buy is misaligned belief systems, not weak copy, videos, or products.
  • →You must address three belief types in your marketing message: external belief (trust vs. scams), internal belief (self-doubt and limiting beliefs), and opportunity belief (whether your solution actually solves their problem).
  • →Even great coaches add belief-building inside their programs, but this psychology must live in your marketing message and sales copy before prospects will buy the program at all.
  • →A prospect may intellectually agree your offer is strong but internally believe they lack the competence, resources, or the right solution to succeed.
  • →Identify what specific internal beliefs block your prospects - lack of technical skill, insufficient capital, inadequate intelligence - and rebuild those narratives in your messaging.

Questions this episode answers

What is the number one reason people don't buy products or courses?

The number one reason is misaligned belief systems. It's not about weak copy, poor videos, or inferior products - it's about whether prospects believe in you, believe in themselves, and believe your solution can actually work for them.

What are the three critical belief systems you need to address in marketing messages?

External belief (does the prospect trust you over scammers and fake gurus), internal belief (does the prospect believe they have the capability and resources to execute), and opportunity belief (does the prospect believe your specific solution can take them from where they are to where they want to be).

Why did the dentist prospect not buy the high-ticket coaching service after a webinar on ticket selling?

The dentist held an opportunity belief block - he didn't believe a strategy taught for coaches and consultants could apply to his dental practice, even though the underlying principles were transferable to any service business.

Why should you address belief systems in marketing messages rather than only during the coaching program itself?

If prospects don't believe in you, themselves, or your solution before buying, they won't enter the program at all; belief-building must happen in your marketing message to drive the initial purchase decision.

What limiting beliefs commonly block prospects from buying?

Common internal limiting beliefs include: "I'm not smart enough," "I'm not tech-savvy enough," "I don't have enough money," and general self-doubt about capability or worthiness.

What our scoring noted

Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.

Insight Density

4 / 20

The episode nominally covers a three-part belief framework (external, internal, opportunity) that could be useful, but the actual substantive content takes up roughly two minutes of a nine-minute episode; the rest is repetition, verbal stumbling, and filler. The few ideas present are generic and buried in noise.

the number one thing that is stopping your customers from buying it from you yeah a lot of people i know you might i know there are times you look at your business and you'll be like um not not not really not many people are buying from you but you wonder why why
there are three important types of belief that you really need to attack in your marketing message

Originality

3 / 20

The three-belief framework (external trust, internal self-belief, vehicle/opportunity belief) is a near-verbatim reproduction of Russell Brunson's widely-circulated 'Expert Secrets' framework, presented without attribution or any novel angle. There is no contrarian thinking, no first-principles reasoning, and no fresh synthesis.

the first thing the first belief system is the external belief
the next thing you need to attack is the internal belief system

Guest Caliber

2 / 20

This is a solo monologue episode with no guest whatsoever; the host provides no verifiable credentials, scale of business, or evidence of having executed these strategies at any meaningful level. The only practitioner evidence offered is a brief anecdote about a single unnamed coaching client.

few days ago i was actually talking to a client and this guy was uh he's a life coach
remember, my name is Alexander Tower

Specificity & Evidence

3 / 20

The entire episode contains zero data points, zero named companies, zero dollar figures, and zero measurable outcomes. The only examples are an anonymous life coach client and an unnamed dentist at an unnamed webinar, both used illustratively without any quantified result.

he has launched this course for over about a week now i think i think yeah i think a week so uh he asked me why people not so many people are actually buying
someone came to meet me and was like oh you did you did a great job you gave a great content but i'm a dentist and it can't work for me

Conversational Craft

2 / 20

There is no interview, no host-guest dynamic, and no structured argumentation; this is an unscripted solo ramble with heavily repetitive phrasing, no follow-up questions, no evidence evaluated, and no productive tension of any kind. The rhetorical questions are purely decorative.

you understand what i'm saying
so you need to identify those beliefs you need to identify their internal belief what exactly stopping them what do they think can stop them internally

hello fighting entrepreneurs i'm super super excited to have you listening to this right now and today i want to discuss something really really important with you something very important that can actually that has been affecting your business but maybe you don't maybe you know maybe you don't know but today i want to talk to you about the number one thing that is stopping your customers from buying it from you yeah a lot of people i know you might i know there are times you look at your business and you'll be like um not not not really not many people are buying from you but you wonder why why so you try a lot of things you try a copy you try your videos you think maybe it's your um maybe it's your product itself maybe your oversugs or something but the truth is maybe your message is what's wrong actually and number one thing like i said that stops your customer from buying from you is the belief system it's not your it's not uh it's not your videos it's not your products it's not even you it's not about you it's about the belief system you need your copy your message needs to need to need to address their belief system now few days ago i was actually talking to a client and this guy was uh he's a life coach and so he asked this um this this course online i just just launched this course so he was asking me that okay but he has launched this course for over about a week now i think i think yeah i think a week so uh he asked me why people not so many people are actually buying so i asked him okay so let me see your message let me see everything then i realized there's one important thing that is missing and not just missing his own it's missing virtually all everyone that i've seen every message i've seen online out there anything and that is belief system there are three important types of belief that you really need to attack in your marketing message and the first thing the first belief system is the external belief now people it's good it's good it's good it's good there are a lot of things out there and people are people are scared of scams there are lots of scammers out there there are lots of gurus out there that that are posed to know what you know that they say that the how or some they say they know what they're saying but in the real sense they actually don't know shit so you want to distinguish yourself from this karma you want your client you want your prospect to know that now i'm not like those guys yeah that's not you want them to know that you can actually take them to where they want so the first one is the external belief system do they actually believe in you or do they believe or maybe they are maybe they believe something is there's something else somewhere maybe their family they had something you need to attack that first you understand what i'm saying then the next thing you need to attack is the internal belief system now this one is one of the most important belief system that you really really you cannot do without this you really need to attack this and that's the internal because one of the reasons in fact the most important reason why your clients might not buy from you today sorry your prospect might buy from you today is because they might feel they feel okay you have a great product if you um you're a very great person you know what you're saying but can i actually do this like i don't know there are lots of internal belief i don't think i'm brilliant enough to do this i don't think uh i know i'm tech savvy enough to do this i don't think i have the necessary finance to do this i don't it's a limiting belief self-limiting belief that there is this belief inside them that they think they can do it so you need to identify those beliefs you need to identify their internal belief what exactly stopping them what do they think can stop them internally do they think they they're not up to the task i want you to remember before you i want to take you back memory lane now remember when you were starting your before you started your uh your business your coaching or your coaching business or your expert or any business you doing I want you to remember what happened now there is if you remember there is actually a thought in your head like can you actually do this no you can't do this no you can't do this so you kept on procrastinating procrastinating sometimes you even move from opportunity to opportunity looking for shiny objects all around that's it that's it it's because of the internet it's because of the internal belief system so you need to change you need to break that belief pattern and rebuild a new belief pattern before they can actually have the confidence to buy from you and the third one is the opportunity now fine your product is good but do they believe your product can actually take them to where they are going do they believe is your product do they believe your product is the right thing are you are you giving the right message to show them that your product is the right thing you understand someone might be like um okay let me give you an example let me give you an example um there was a time i did uh i did a webinar i did a webinar on uh i ticket i did a webinar on a i ticket selling i ticket service this time around so as so because i was actually giving examples about um coaches consultants coaches consultant immediately after the webinar someone came to meet me and was like oh you did you did a great job you gave a great content but i'm a dentist and it can't work for me i'm like what the strategies i taught in the in on the webinar can work for anybody as long as it's a service either your professional service business or your day or you're a coach or you're a consultant it can work for you you just need to be creative about it you understand what i'm saying now this guy did so at the end actually i offered a particular product at the end of the webinar i showed my high ticket secret program at the end of the webinar but this guy did not buy because of that because of that belief now so you need to rebuild your message to tackle this kind of beliefs the external belief you need to find a way to break your external belief make them realize that yes you the best person to take them to that promised land the internal belief let them see let them see that they can actually do this and the external belief also and the uh the new opportunity which is the thought belief system is you need to show them you need to let them know that no matter where they are your product your solution can take them to wherever they want to be because you know we like it and now the difference the the the difference between uh where your customer is right now where they want to be straight line so can your product take them from that place from point a to point b where they want to be so it's left for you to answer now before you go now if you already have a product on sale or maybe you're still uh you're still developing yours check your message is there a way you actually did you actually address this thing in your message the external belief the internal belief and the new opportunity it is very very important because no matter how good your copywriter is no matter how good your uh your hook your story your offer everything is if you're not attacking that belief system if you're not uh attacking that belief system breaking it down to rebuild another one then you can't and i'm aware that most coaches most coaches they they do this a lot you know in their program but now because that's what coaching is for many ways you know you tend to thank you encourage them to work harder on themselves you know make them see the fact that they can do what they want to do they can you know but that's inside your program who will who's gonna see your program if they don't nobody's gonna see that if They can't even buy your program.

So you need to make them buy your program by moving that particular concept outside also to your message, to your marketing messages. You understand what I'm saying? So I hope you go out there. I hope you speak with the right people and I hope you help the right people.

And remember, my name is Alexander Tower. And remember that I love to see you prosper.
