Episode notes

What does it really take to preserve pulp vitality in a severely decayed posterior tooth - and how does your handpiece factor into that outcome? Dr. Anna Paholiouk is a restorative dentist practicing in Orange County, California, whose clinical philosophy is rooted in minimally invasive advanced adhesive dentistry based on biomimetic principles. She serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Southern California Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry - the same institution from which she graduated - contributing to the education and mentorship of the next generation of clinicians. Dr. Paholiouk holds the distinction of being the first and only female Fellow of the Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry, is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and has completed well over 1,000 hours of continuing education in pursuit of clinical excellence. In this episode, Dr. Paholiouk walks through her philosophy of circumscribing the pulp during preparation design, explaining how the goal of preserving nerve vitality dictates every clinical decision - from handpiece selection to isolation protocol.
