Five dimensions, 20 points each
This foundational episode establishes Online Marketing Freaks as a resource for operators looking to launch or scale digital ventures. The host, drawing from over a decade building hundreds of funnels and achieving 150,000 YouTube subscribers, positions online marketing as a path to location independence and global reach. Key concepts covered include attention-getting through organic channels (YouTube, TikTok, Twitter), funnel architecture as systematic sales processes rather than just software, content-driven pull marketing versus paid push marketing, and the importance of authenticity in building audiences. The host promotes the freaks.frk.es URL shortener - offering pixel tracking, A/B testing, bio pages, splash pages, and campaign management for free - as a starter tool for affiliate marketers and link management. Upcoming software launches promise AI-powered content tools and simplified sales funnel builders. This episode benefits entrepreneurs in early stages, affiliate marketers, and anyone building digital products or services who need strategic guidance on attention, audience building, and systematic sales processes without expensive tool overhead.
It's a free URL shortening tool with premium features typically costing $100+ annually, including pixel tracking, A/B testing, bio pages, splash pages, campaign tracking, link expiration, and multi-platform pixel integration (Facebook, Google, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube). Users can claim a free premium account by registering at freaks.frk.es.
YouTube users are more accustomed to clicking links and the platform supports longer-form content, making it easier to drive conversions and build email lists compared to TikTok, where you must post 3+ videos daily and users rarely click bio links.
A funnel is a systematic sales process designed backwards from your end product through entry-level offers (webinars, free resources, email signups) to guide audiences toward purchase; it's a strategy and customer journey structure, not a software tool.
Pull marketing creates valuable content audiences actively seek and consume (organic, content-driven), while push marketing forces ads to people through paid channels, billboards, or unsolicited messages - pull builds long-term trust, push is faster but expensive and creates audience resistance.
Recording once (like this Twitter Space), then uploading to YouTube as full episodes, creating short clips for TikTok and Instagram, distributing as a podcast, and using AI transcription - allowing one piece of content to serve multiple channels and audiences without proportional effort.
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode is almost entirely self-promotion for an unreleased URL shortener and vague future software, interspersed with marketing 101 platitudes. There are essentially zero novel or non-obvious claims for any experienced B2B operator.
you need attention and uh, you can get attention
the money is out there on the street and you can get it uh, if you are a little bit smart and know how to use the freedom you have now
Every concept presented - pull vs. push marketing, content repurposing, funnels, organic vs. paid - is recycled marketing 101. There is no contrarian, first-principles, or counterintuitive argument anywhere in the episode.
this is called pull marketing. You pull the people to you. And instead of push marketing, this is like pushing ads
it's about content creating and also, uh, documenting and not um, only... acting
There is no guest; this is a solo monologue by the host. The host cites some credentials but presents them in a vague, self-aggrandizing way with no depth of practitioner insight to back them up.
I built some hundred funnels. I think I sold, yeah, some hundred thousand books and had a, the place one podcast. Uh, so, uh, in Germany, the best out of 20,000 podcasts. I have a YouTube channel with 150,000 subscribers
I'm, now I'm the, the, the talking head
There are a handful of specific data points (150k YouTube subscribers, 100 subscribers in two months, 10k in six months) but they are anecdotal and self-reported; the rest of the episode is pure abstraction and vague product promises with no named clients, revenue figures, or case studies.
after six months we had 10,000 subscribers
I had a YouTube channel already in 2006 when YouTube was uh, born
This is an unstructured solo ramble with no guest, no questions, no pushback, and no interviewing whatsoever. The episode is primarily a promotional pitch for an unreleased product interrupted by loosely connected anecdotes.
of course this is not so easy to make it here on an audio format. But we will go on in the next weeks

And we will do this on a regular basis every week on Tuesdays and talk about online marketing uh topics, strategies and so on or whatever you like because we love online marketing. This is why we are the on the marketing freaks. Yeah and I have some uh, I have some points on my list we could talk about. But before we start I want to yeah. Give you a gift. I have a gift for you because we are developing a lot of software tools in the moment uh right to launch uh hopefully in the end of July or August. And it will be uh, I think it will be a game changer for many uh other software uh companies on the market and will give the possibilities to yeah uh everybody for easy start to go online, to sell online. Doesn't matter if you sell your own products, digital products, physical products, services, coaching or software, uh, or you do affiliate marketing or uh so whatever. Yeah uh, I just show your face, your company and uh, whatever you are doing on a new completely new basis because we think this market needs some more uh competitive competition and this will come I think and we are serious about this also even if the name is not sounding so serious because we are the only marketing freaks. But uh, you will see this is very serious because online marketing for me is a lot of fun. It's like a game uh and I like to play the game all the time. Um and yeah I have a lot of experiences uh built hundreds of funnels and into online marketing for more than 10 years. Um, I think uh, um it was about 11 years and so I saw a lot of things coming and going and was using everything and now it's the time that we are um improving ah this this side of uh applications you can use and yeah I think this is a promise I can give you. Uh and yeah the present, the gift I will give to you when you are listening to this show today is our URL shortener. You can find it on freekas frk es. This is the online marketing freaks shortener. And you can short your URLs but not only this. You can register for free for a premium account now and you can uh, you can get access to the uh bonus features all over. It's so fantastic. You can make individual links, you can put pixel in the links. You can uh, yeah ending links am. You can make AB tests in your links. You can make uh a bio page, you can make splash pages. You can campaign and sort everything. You can um. Yeah you have uh, you can expire links and so on. You can change the. The bounce site and so on. You can have a lot of things features which usually uh cost about um 100 uh at least $100 a year you can get, you can claim now for free when you just register on Freekus Frk es. Check it out and shorten your links. Especially interesting also for starter who um uh start with affiliate uh marketing very often and um yeah you're sending out links uh and there's traffic on the pages but you never see anything maybe. So you have now the possibility also to um include a pixel. It doesn't matter from which uh service. Facebook, uh Instagram, Google, YouTube or Twitter, LinkedIn, whatever you can include into the link when you register today on frickrsfrk Es. Yeah um, let's go into some uh topics. What is the nice thing of online marketing? Um, online marketing is for me is the way to um freedom some kind of uh one solution uh in this world and the last years helped us for more accepting. There's more acceptance of uh, of this way of uh yeah living, of working and also uh, of selling uh even more than before. And you can use that. You can work from wherever you want. You can uh sell all over the world 247 and um yeah you can reach a lot of people and you have so many components and yeah I want to give you a little over you and if you have any questions you can just uh hold your hold your hand and then uh we can also discuss about. About some points. Uh as I mentioned before um the very good start for everybody who is not so much into the topic of online marketing issues. Whatever it is. Landing pages, funnels, email marketing, media campaigns or copywriting or ads. Yeah it all starts I think with affiliate marketing. I was uh starting also uh with this um kind of uh yeah money making ideas. I m Was starting with audiobooks, um selling audiobooks for audible via YouTube. I had a nice strategy for this. I was uploading only the covers and uh uh was typing in like you get a free audiobook here and um just uploaded this in the loop sometimes with music and then of course with affiliate things and I sold a lot of audiobooks not only uh uh in one country. I uh sold all over the world. I made these videos or some kind of video um in different languages uh in English, German, Spanish, French, Japan, Japanese and I think and uh yeah this was, this was uh. This was a great way of uh, starting with all this to see what, what happens here. And um, unfortunately the policy of YouTube uh changed and then they said uh, it's not allowed to, to upload this covers there anymore. But it uh, it took about a year or something like that and I was paying my rent with this money with affiliate marketing. And so I was uh, yeah I was crashed into this new field of possibilities. And um, yeah I, I learned how to make uh, websites uh, yeah manually um, in a very early stage when I was um, something like 16 years or something as I started. And it was awful. But yeah all this, all this stuff came together and it was very interesting for me. And especially of course uh the social media um and the social media reach you can get, you can build up um, quite easy in quotation marks because uh, of course you have a lot of possibilities and um, you now you have a lot of channels. Uh, yeah those, those days there was mainly only YouTube and Facebook a little bit. Instagram was empty. When I joined Instagram in 2012, uh, I was pretty alone with some of my friends, was only posting my daily photos uh, on Instagram. And until Facebook bought this it was a uh, very empty, lonely place. And now it was, it became a very big player. But now uh, I'm not so much uh, into Instagram anymore. I'm a little bit bored about that. And I think uh, especially Twitter is growing fantastically. Um, um since Elon Musk took over this social uh media network. Also improving a lot of things. And I also love this Twitter spaces. Yeah. Um, our account here, the online marketing freaks is yeah. As you see it's only one month old account. We are really, really new here and have some hands of followers. We really appreciate that. But I think uh, the, the, the number of followers will grow when we release our baby. Yeah. Ah and our babies because we have a lot of things in, in the basement, hidden in the basement ready to uh, almost ready to launch. Uh, but we want to fix some things first and then we will come with that. So um, come back to the strategies because the biggest point is always getting attention. It doesn't matter if you make uh, if you're doing affiliate marketing or selling your own stuff, you need attention and uh, you can get attention. For example uh, in my example with uh, the audiobooks. Yeah. When you are putting in um, yeah relevant search content, uh search content or keywords to for example YouTube because it's a biggest search engine after Google. So people are looking for example for audiobooks for free. Yeah. And then you type in the title of the audiobook of the book and for free. And then a lot of people will come to your video. Yeah, this is only an example but I think you, you understand what I mean. And um, yeah. So you think how can I get the reach. How can I get uh, more people to listen to this? How can I um. Yeah, reach my audience without spending too much money or too much effort? Um, of course you can spend money if you want to make uh, if you make paid content or you make uh, paying for ads, pay per click. Um but this is sometimes disappointing for some people. Uh, especially in the beginning and when you're not knowing your numbers at all, when you have no funnel, that's that means you have no um, you say it's funny with, with several products so you have more revenue on uh, specific funnel. Yeah, because there's not, you're not only selling one thing unusual. So you need also a strategy for this. Um, um, maybe we can talk about that later on. Um, so we need attention, uh, or we need ah, followers or we need um, email contacts. So it's always a question how can you get them? Um, and yeah of course now we have also players like TikTok or we have also Instagram but I think still YouTube is very, very powerful because also you um, the people are more used to click on links and also you have the possibility to do uh, have longer content. Um, but to advertise and get your name dropped or your brand dropped of course, uh, especially TikTok, um, or even also YouTube shorts and the reels on Instagram are good to get known by people but you have to put your work on it and this is very, also very hard and it can be even more expensive ah than paying uh, for ads. Um, for example on TikTok you have to make at least three videos a day to reach a big, big crowd, something like that. And uh, yeah on the other platforms it's the same. Maybe even make uh, more videos. Uh some of the biggest players there, they um, release five videos a day for example. But still on Instagram and TikTok you're not um, you have to get the people into your bio to click on the bio on the bio link. So this is also a conversion killer. Um, you can get them of course with short videos to search for your name to come to YouTube and watch longer episodes or subscribe m to your channel there. Or you always can uh, try to get uh, email contacts, uh when you're delivering something with value so people are interested in getting into your list uh, or getting the content or getting the gift in exchange for their email address. Same would be for uh, webinars for example. But webinars in this case now it's a little bit more advanced. Uh, it's not easy for the start, I think. Um, but um, webinars are really the marketing killer. That's uh, the best tool you can use in my opinion. Uh, of course when you combine it with reach, with uh, audience and attention. Um, and you have to know how you make a nice webinar. Yeah. And so, and then it's starting when you get the attention. What are you doing with the attention? It's like um, you're like building a channel for uh, uh, on the beach. When you, when you're building a channel on the beach for the water, the water flow comes and then you build already a channel maybe around your castle. Then um. Yeah, this is what online marketing or funnel marketing is about. You are thinking about the way the water uh, will flow or the audience will behave in your funnel. And um, when you did your work well, then it will work. When you did your work well, then it will work well. Yeah, this is nice. It's a nice saying. I will write this down, I think, um, yeah and I uh, think this is uh, you have to think or you have to understand the possibilities you have and how the strategies are really working. Because um, then you, when you understand that and you know the structure, then you know what kind of tools do you really need? Because some people there are starting and buying some tools, some kind of blind and are fooled also by big companies with the high, high rates, high monthly rates. And uh, yeah, this is oversized for most of the uh, starters. Even uh, even for grown up marketers. Um, I know this really good, um, I have a lot of experience, know a lot of uh, international marketers and uh, as I said already I built some hundred funnels. I think I sold, yeah, some hundred thousand books and had a, the place one podcast. Uh, so, uh, in Germany, the best out of 20,000 podcasts. I have a YouTube channel with 150,000 subscribers. I was working on uh, 12 book funnels for other people and, and so on and so on. Um, uh, so I know what I'm talking about. But of course I didn't know when I was in the beginning. So I made a lot of mistakes. But you don't have to make. And our project, uh, the online marketing freaks will support you in this way. So you should follow us uh, on the Twitter account, uh, or you even go to our website onlinemarketingfreaks.com and subscribe as a beta tester. Yeah, it's possible. Now you can join and we, you get informed when you're uh, when we are ready to give it out to you and we are excited, uh, what do you think about that? Uh, but more to come. We also will, uh, explain, uh, step by step, everything we do and what, what we are thinking about this and why we're doing this, uh, in the next weeks on a regular basis. And I think, um, yeah, it's uh, it's fun when we all have fun and we have, when we all have success, you know, uh, because only when you have success with the tool, then you will uh, stay subscribed. Uh, and this is of course our interest in our interest. So. And yeah, in my team I'm, now I'm the, the, the talking head. Yeah, one face to the customer. But even you don't see my face now, but you will. Um, and also in our back is my CTO or my head of developer and he's uh, working day and night, uh, uh, on this, um, on our new applications. And we are very proud to launch this as soon as possible. Yeah. And even uh, if you think now what is this, uh, what kind of guys, uh, are coming there? You know, uh, it's always starting like that. It's also the same for you when you start something. Yeah. Uh, in the beginning, of course, you have no subscribers. You know. And I uh, remember when I built up my YouTube channel in 20, uh, 15, I had a lot of YouTube channels. By the way, I also had a YouTube channel already in 2006 when YouTube was uh, born. But uh, changed a lot in this time. But, but uh, my still existing big YouTube channel was founded in 2015. And I know the biggest party we had was when we had hundred subscribers. When we hit the hundred subscribers it took like two, uh, months I think. And after six months we had 10,000 subscribers. So um, as you see, of course in the beginning every account is on zero. Yeah. And you do your very best that you're not staying on zero. And you do your very best so you can um, make profit out of this. Use this and use it, uh, I think as um, integer as you can. You know, not faking the people, not fooling the people. It will always, uh, uh, come, come back and it will break your neck in the end. So this is, I think this is important for me also. And um, so this is how you can, yeah, you can use that. Um, and I think today is Also the authentic content is very important, uh, because, um, and it also. I think this will be a trend in the next time. And this is also why I think that Instagram is foolish. And uh, yeah, and, and it belongs to Facebook of course. And Facebook is already gone, but it's not buried right now in my opinion. And uh, Twitter, I said this already 10 or 15 years, uh, before, uh, I think 10 years before I said Twitter will always survive against Facebook. Yeah. And I was already in the game when there was no Facebook, there was only my space. So, uh, when I sometimes, uh, spoke in front of uh, students, uh, in university, talking about uh, content marketing and social media marketing, and I was mentioning MySpace, the crowd was laughing out, uh, loud because they could not imagine I'm so old. I know MySpace. Um, yeah. And uh, so, so we can also. This is also a nice, uh, side story because um, it doesn't matter what kind of platform it is in the end, but it's about content creating and also, uh, documenting and not um, only. What is it? Uh, um, acting. Yeah, it's not acting, not only show off, it's about documenting, uh, be authentic in the end. I think in my opinion, and I'm as I already mentioned, a long time here on the way. So uh, even if there would be no whatever platform anymore, then there's someone else, uh, where you can go with your content. And people like content, love content. And this is also a big um, pro for content marketing instead of only um, advertising. Because in content market, with content marketing, you're doing content people love to consume, they want to find. So this is called pull marketing. You pull the people to you. And instead of push marketing, this is like pushing ads. And yeah, like also pay for billboards would be the same. You push it to the people, uh, in the face. Yeah, of course this is faster, but people get annoyed sometimes. But also it's, it's uh, it's a lot of money. But when you get to the point that you reach enough audience, for example on YouTube and so on, then after this, yeah, several months maybe, uh, uh, of having almost no followers, then uh, you can have a payoff. Uh, and when I started in 2015, a lot of people told me, uh, or asked me why, why, why I'm doing this, what I, what I'm, what I'm doing there and why I'm wasting my time in making these videos. And we started with animating, uh, animated videos, summarizing books. Um, it was very successful. Uh, I was reading a lot of books summarizing the books and making animation. We were uh, in the team of two people. So this was one point. And uh, yeah, so there are a lot of ideas out there but you have to put in the work and you have to be patient and you cannot get. This is not. Not the lottery where you get uh, uh, uh, maybe paid this week. So you have to put in some work of course. So. And um. But there are so many possibilities. Uh, and when you are uh, yeah, for example checking out people who, who made the way already, they can give you a lot of tips. They can uh, give you the short path. Uh, and when we launch the on the Marketing Freaks uh new applications and softwares and utilities, then you will also have the short pass for a lot of things. Um, don't forget to save your uh, free premium account of the on a marketing freaks uh URL shortener on freakus frk.es now at the moment it's for free to join all premium features. Check this out. It's unbelievable. Uh, maybe you don't even know what you do with all these features right now, but you have to uh, yeah, have to get your account now and then you can uh, get it later because now you get it for free and later it will be uh, of course will be uh, different price plans. So uh, you have this possibility. But I know I loved to have some kind of URL short run like this before or when I was starting there and so on and so on. So um, we also will deliver a lot of content up there there how to use it with a lot of strategies. This is uh, one, one uh, nice uh, point on the, on the. On the bypass on. On your way to online marketing. Of course this is not on the only thing you need to know. Um, but uh, you know the, the. The money is out there on the street and you can get it uh, if you are a little bit smart and know how to use the freedom you have now with the technique with the Internet with all the platforms and so on. And for example when you do Twitter space like we do here right now and I'm recording that of course this Twitter space I will use also in different platforms. After this recording we will upload it on YouTube. We make short passages out of this for Tick Tock and Instagram. We will use it as a podcast. A podcast. And um, yeah so that this content will not be uh, uh, only only on Twitter and only seen or hear listened to by some people right now. Now we will use it and spread it very wide. And you also now have the possibilities to summarize. Transcript uh, voice ah or videos by uh, artificial intelligence. And you can use artificial intelligence for so much more in online marketing. I think uh, most of the people have not realized yet, uh even this topic uh is now seven months in the big news and in the big focus that this uh, will change everything. Uh, sometimes uh, I uh still uh, writing themselves or only using ChatGPT or other softwares. Yeah. And also on this point we will have some big uh, improvements to your work. I really mean it. Like I said, this will be a game changer. This will be a game changer um when we release this stuff. So you really make sure you follow us, make sure if it's still possible you go to onlinemarketingfreaks.com and become a uh, beta tester. Of course, if only limited places for beta testers. And then you will see also when we have our launch webinar. Yeah it will be amazing. It will be great. Um, so there are some different uh, things you uh, you should have in mind. And one thing I also mentioned when you think about the funnel. So people think sometimes a funnel is only a software. But this is not uh, about the software but it's about the systematic sales process and also um, connecting to the visitor or customer or um, whatever you like audience. And when you build ah funnel structure then you usually uh, you start by the end, you start with the end product, what you really want to sell and then you offer for example other products or entry products or webinars or whatever. Uh and of course this is, this is not so easy to make it here on an audio format. But we will go on in the next weeks and we'll go step by step uh in different kinds of sales funnels, structures, strategies you can use for that. And also of course when you have uh, something you're interested in, then you can write me, you can DM our uh, our Twitter account or you can, yeah you will find a way if you really like just comment on this. So um, I really appreciate everybody listening to this first episode of our uh, online marketing Freaks podcast here in Twitter spaces and wherever you listen to this. And uh, yeah I'm looking forward to, to hear and see you again next week or in between or read about you make sure you claim your free premium account on Freekus frk es. Great. Um, yeah, have a great uh, uh, evening, night or morning, wherever you like, wherever you are. Um, and I'm looking forward to hear from you next time. Bye bye.
