Lisa Ann breaks down the exact system she built to keep her business generating leads, sales, and booked calls while she was completely offline for a week in Mexico. Rather than hustling harder or posting every day out of panic, she shifted to a strategic approach centered on three core components: a clear brand message targeting her dream client, a high-converting profile that funnels people into her CRM (LeadFlow), and automated email sequences that continue nurturing prospects 24/7. She runs three video view ads at $5 daily to bring new people to her profile, pre-scheduled content across social media, and pre-wrote two months of daily emails from September through November so they'd send automatically regardless of her availability. Her team handled client deliverables while she was away, and she worked only one evening the entire week because she actually wanted to. The episode targets service-based entrepreneurs and coaches who feel trapped by the need to post constantly, offering a CEO mindset alternative: build systems that do the heavy lifting so your business thrives when you're not working.

Key takeaways

  • →Consistency means strategic visibility, not constant activity - three $5/day video ads putting your clear message in front of new people can replace daily posting pressure.
  • →Your social media profile should function like a converting storefront with intentional bio, pin posts, and CTAs that funnel people into your CRM (like LeadFlow) rather than just looking aesthetically good.
  • →Pre-writing and scheduling emails in batches (Lisa wrote two months worth at once) creates 24/7 lead nurturing without daily scrambling, especially effective when sent daily to build trust and teach your audience.
  • →Set the same systems and expectations for yourself that you set for your clients - if it works for them, implement it for your own business to prove the model while benefiting personally.
  • →Automation buys back your time for strategic work, family, and rest, which paradoxically generates better business ideas and renewed inspiration than constant grinding.

Questions this episode answers

How can you take time off without losing leads if you're not posting on social media every day?

Build an automated system with three components: run low-cost video ads ($5/day) targeting your clear niche, set up a converting profile that funnels people into your CRM (like LeadFlow), and pre-schedule emails and content so lead nurturing happens 24/7 without your daily input.

What should you do with pre-written content and emails while you're away?

Schedule everything in advance using your CRM or scheduling tools - Lisa pre-wrote two months of daily emails at once and scheduled social media content to continue posting while she was offline, so leads kept coming without her intervention.

What is the 10K lead machine Lisa created?

It's a guide (not a full program) that walks you through three systems for generating high-quality leads online without posting every day; it's available in the show notes.

How many hours did Lisa actually work during her week off in Mexico?

She worked only one evening out of seven nights because her kids went to bed at 8 PM and her husband was out watching the Blue Jays game; she chose to work on client branding because she enjoyed it, not because she had to.

What CRM system does Lisa use for automation and lead nurturing?

She uses LeadFlow, which is a CRM system designed off Go High Level that automates email sequences, lead capture, and lead routing to build trust and convert prospects into booked calls or program sales.

What our scoring noted

Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.

Insight Density

6 / 20

A handful of tactical specifics (pre-scheduled emails, $5/day video ads, CRM automation) are present but buried under extensive personal narrative and repeated motivational statements; the ratio of actionable content to filler is poor for a 22-minute episode.

I have three different ads running. Spending $5 a day, that is putting me in front of new people
I actually wrote all my emails until the end of November. So two months worth of emails that go out every single day

Originality

4 / 20

The entire episode rests on the extremely common 'build systems so you don't have to post every day' thesis, dressed in 'CEO mindset' framing that circulates widely in the online coaching space; there is no contrarian angle, first-principles argument, or novel reframe anywhere in the transcript.

you are a CEO of a damn business. And CEOs don't run around trying to be seen all day. They build systems that keep their brand working even when they're not actually working
Consistency is not about constant activity. It's about showing up, um, strategically, with a plan so you are visible without burning out

Guest Caliber

4 / 20

This is a solo episode; the host is a self-described small-business digital marketing coach whose demonstrated scale in the transcript is a handful of simultaneous clients, with no verifiable revenue, headcount, or industry recognition cited.

I'm your host, Lisa Ann, a personality, digital marketing expert, coach, and your get right to the point business bestie
we brought in four clients at once while my husband is building his business, while we are raising a toddler, a 3 year old, and currently a 4 month old

Specificity & Evidence

6 / 20

A few concrete details appear - $5/day ad spend, Go High Level/Lead Flow as the named CRM, two months of pre-written daily emails - but the claimed outcome ('made sales,' 'new leads') is never quantified with any numbers, and all examples are self-referential with no third-party data.

Spending $5 a day, that is putting me in front of new people. Okay. And I'm actually running this as a video view ad
I still made sales while sipping that mango tango by the pool. I still generated booked calls, my emails still went out

Conversational Craft

3 / 20

The episode is an unstructured solo monologue with no interviewer, no questions, and no mechanism for pushback; it frequently detours into unrelated personal anecdotes and never probes or challenges any of its own claims.

Long story short, okay, the rest of the time it was damn hot. We were in the sun, we went to the beach, we went to the pool. My daughter is a fish. She learned how to swim completely by herself.

Speaker A: Hey there, my friend. I am back, and I have, uh, something that I cannot wait to share with you about my Mexico trip. But before I dive into that, just had a question for you. Do you ever feel like if you don't post today, like, right this second, that you're gonna fall off the face of the Internet? Like, one missed story and just, like, boom, your entire business is gonna vanish. I've been there, posting out of panic, reposting old content just to stay consistent, feeling anxious because I didn't have anything new that I wanted to say. And at the time, my life just felt super boring. And no one wants to see all that stuff. But let me tell you what changed my mindset around posting and why I like to shout to the world, to you, to my students, apart, my. My spotlight society, to my clients, that you don't have to live on social media, is that you're not here to be an influencer. You're not here to be a content machine. You are a CEO of a damn business. And CEOs don't run around trying to be seen all day. They build systems that keep their brand working even when they're not actually working. That's what this episode is about. And today, I want to show you exactly how I built a system that brings in leads and visibility even when I take days off. Heck, even when I took a complete full week off in Mexico with my kids, my family, for my sister's wedding. And how you can start doing this today. You know by now it takes way

Speaker B: more than social media to build a business that actually supports your life. Welcome to More Than Social, the Real Talk podcast for entrepreneurs who are done with the highlight reel and ready to have honest convos about what it really takes to grow a wildly successful business in a life you love. I'm your host, Lisa Ann, a personality, digital marketing expert, coach, and your get right to the point business bestie. Around here, we talk about the messy middle, the mindset shifts, the wins, and even the WTF moments behind the scenes of entrepreneurship. Because, let's be real, this journey, it's more about content calendars and chasing video views on social media. It's about the motivation to keep you going, owning your success, staying resilient through all the chaos, and evolving into that next version of yourself. So if you are here to grow with more clarity, more courage, and have a little bit less BS in your life, you're in the right place. Let's dive in.

Speaker A: All right, so let's actually be honest. Okay? Somewhere. And I say somewhere. With a, uh, grain of salt. But somewhere along the line, we were told that in order to be successful online, you have to be everywhere. Show up every single damn day, post, engage, be consistent, stay on top of trends, reels, tiktoks, emails, all the damn things. And if you're not doing it all, you feel behind, you feel invisible, like you're the only one not keeping up. But here's the truth. Consistency is not about constant activity. It's about showing up, um, strategically, with a plan so you are visible without burning out. And that doesn't happen by hustling harder. And trust me, I have been there like full in the deep sand, ocean, dark hole, whatever it is that you want to say to describe this. Hustling my damn ass off. So damn exhausted that all I did was live and breathe my business. It didn't work for me. What did was when I started to implement what I do for my actual clients. And I know that sounds wild, but when you run a business where you are a service provider, you always put your clients first. And that was a big ass, uh, mistake that I made when I started to implement what I implement for my clients. And I mean build a system that runs even when you rest. That changed everything for me. So as you know, my life recently has been absolutely chaotic. And I actually just got back from Mexico. A week of sunshine and swimming and all the amazing things. But before I went to Mexico, my life was a disaster. And I'm not joking. Like this last month for me has been absolutely insane that I didn't even realize how exhausted I was until I was on the beach chair looking out at my daughter swimming with my husband. And I was like, you know what? I can actually finally breathe for a second. Little recap for you. I sold my house and we had a two week close. So we packed up my entire house, cleaned it, all the things. Within two weeks, I had my sister's courthouse wedding where she legally got married. I had a cottage weekend planned with our high school group of friends. We had Mexico, we had my daughter's birthday, all in a month span while running my business. And I'm, um, not talking just running, I mean, like we're scaling. We brought in four clients at once while my husband is building his business, while we are raising a toddler, a 3 year old, and currently a 4 month old. My life has been absolutely insane. It's been like, I don't wanna complain because. But it's just been busy, okay? And during this last month, I have felt scattered. I felt not Disconnected because I've been just so focused and intentional with my time. But I've learned to realize how much I have set up within my business that I don't even give myself credit for. And so like I said, I just got back from a full week in Mexico. I brought my laptop, I randomly posted on my stories. Like I didn't post on my agency social media. I don't even know the last time I posted, to be honest. I did post randomly on my personal brand social media. So that's the Lisa Ann coaching page, which I'm sure that you follow. I post on there a handful of times, just kind of showing, yeah, I'm still alive, but more so showing what I was doing. Not because I felt like I had to post, but because I honestly just wanted to. I barely was replying to DMs, my text messages, no, my emails, very little. And I am so damn proud of myself. So typically when I went away in the past, I would burn my laptop and I would stress out if I didn't open it that day. So usually at nighttime or first thing in the morning, I would open my laptop, check in with work, do all the things, blah, blah, blah, waste some time instead of being in the sunshine working on my computer. But this trip, I honestly didn't even feel pressured, which is crazy to think because I just brought in four brand new clients. But I didn't feel the pressure to work because I had my shit together, I have my systems in place. That is one helping my business actually grow with my lead generation, my emails, all the things which I'll get into in just a moment. But for the first time in over a decade, I felt zero pressure to actually work. Now did I work? Not gonna lie, I did work one night. One night out of seven nights. I, um, am so damn proud of myself because that doesn't happen usually. But yeah, I did work one night. And the reason why is because my kids like go to bed at uh, eight and one of us had to stay in the hotel room with them. My husband, he went out and he was actually watching the Blue Jays game. So if you're listening to this on Thursday, when this actually becomes live, hopefully the Jays are still crushing it. Go, Jays, go. But he was out and I was just at the hotel and I was like, you know what, I'm just going to play on my computer for a bit. And I started to do some client work and I started to nerd out. And that's actually another whole side topic when you love what you do you can say, yeah, I'm just playing. And that's what I kind of felt like I was doing. So I was playing one night, but I was actually doing work for a client and I was doing all of his branding. Like brand new person, brand new clients. I was doing everything that foundational stuff and it was super fun. But I worked one night. Long story short, okay, the rest of the time it was damn hot. We were in the sun, we went to the beach, we went to the pool. My daughter is a fish. She learned how to swim completely by herself. Still life jacket on, but we didn't have to hold her. There was slides, there was a lot of food, a lot of strawberry daiquiris. And actually they're called mango tangos. Strawberry daiquiri and a mango daiquiri mixed so damn good. And I just felt spend time with my family, but I didn't feel the pressure. But guess what? My content still went out. New leads were still coming into my CRM. I still made sales while sipping that mango tango by the pool. I still generated booked calls, my emails still went out. And it's not because I worked harder before I left. My life has been chaotic this last month. I didn't have time to plan even more than what I did. But it's because I had a system that worked for me while I was offline. That right there, that is the magic of building a magnetic brand in a lead generation machine that runs 24 7. So here's the breakdown of how I did it. This system, um, that kept things moving while I was off in Mexico. It's built really from three powerful parts. A clear brand message. I'm so super dialed in on who my dream client is. So every single piece of content speaks directly to them like I'm reading their mind. It attracts the right people and filters out the rest. And what I've done without getting too in depth with you, you know, I love paid ads. So what I have currently set up within my business is I have three different ads running. Spending $5 a day, that is putting me in front of new people. Okay. And I'm actually running this as a video view ad. Now, if you are a part of my community inside the spotlight society, you know that typically 99.9% of the time I'm running a conversion ad for lead generation or sales or booked appointments, I'm running a video ad. So these videos are going out in front of new people with a super clear message getting them to come to my profile. Now when they get to my profile, this is really the second step. It's, it's a profile that converts people. So I've structured my social media to actually do something. It's not just looking good. I actually think from a, uh, aesthetics side of things, it's not very pretty, but whatever, doesn't really matter. But my bio, my pin post, they're all set up to grab attention and send people to where I want them to go. So I want you to think of your profile like a storefront. It should be inviting and clear. Okay. Um, and the goal then from an ad side of things, once they get onto my profile, once I see those initial videos, I'm um, then putting in another ad in front of them or they're going to my profile and clicking on one of the pin posts or clicking the link in my bio or commenting a specific word. The purpose here is now to generate a lead, get them off of my social media profile into my CRM, which I use Lead Flow. I know I've nerded out on Lead Flow. That's our CRM system that we have designed off of Go High Level. It is absolutely amazing. If you haven't checked it out, make sure you do send me a message. I can send you a link and a free trial to play with it, but it's amazing. But the whole purpose is to get them onto Lead Flow. Now once they're inside Lead Flow, there's two routes that they're going to go down. Okay, first route, depending on what lead magnet. So that freebie that they've downloaded, there's going to be an automation that is building trust with them and converting them either into book calls or program sales. But once they finish that automation, what I actually have going out right now within my Lead Flow CRM is I have daily emails that go out to my email list. These emails are designed to just teach, inspire, give tips, help other people win. Because that's what I want to do. I want to help you win. Regardless if you've purchased one of my programs or if you're a client or whatnot, I want to help you win. And so what I've done in September, I think it was, I actually wrote all my emails until the end of November. So two months worth of emails that go out every single day, doesn't matter if it's Sunday, I still send you an email. And because I knew my schedule and because I knew that I was in Mexico and it was actually my birthday when I was in Mexico too, I planned and knew exactly what email was sending out on My birthday, one email was sending out when I was in the airport, et cetera and I made sure the message in that was hey, I'm actually at the airport right now. We had to get up at 2:30 in the morning and by the way, my daughter is crushing it or hey, it's my birthday, I'm currently on the beach. I, I use that inside my emails now. When I got the emails myself, when I was actually in Mexico on my birthday and I opened my own emails, I was like damn, this actually sounds really good. But I plan thing, I scheduled things and that is the best thing that I have ever done because it has taken pressure off me to every single day feel like I have to wake up and send an email to my list. Now you don't have to send an email every single day. That's just what I'm doing right now because I want to help people really, really see success by the end of the year. But not, not always this year have I been doing that. Typically it's two emails a week. I send one email typically on Mondays giving you a quick update, here's a win. And then my second email is usually on Thursdays when my podcast go live. So that's the email side of things, the content side of things. I slacked a bit. I didn't have much content going out, but I did have some pre scheduled content. Same thing, I have that scheduled in lead flow. So media content is going live. And I talked about this a couple episodes ago. I used to always schedule my content one month, one month in advance, like I'm talking 30 days worth of content. I pre did them, etc then I

Speaker B: got bored of that.

Speaker A: So then I started doing them naturally, kind of as the time came in. But then I started scheduling them again more recently and it's helped me a lot. Take the pressure off social media but still be active because yeah, you do want to be active, but you don't have to live on social media. That's the whole thing I'm trying to shout to the world. But it works okay. Everything that I currently have set up goes on autopilot for my own business. Now obviously I'm in a service based business. I have to actually complete work for my one on one clients. But even their stuff, I have stuff pre done scheduled. My team working on things while I'm away, okay? But the purpose is I have content that works while I don't. No guessing, no scrambling, no waking up wondering what should I post today? Did I send out an email? Did I get any Leads coming in, that's all going. That is how I was able to take a week off with my family and still come home to leads and in sales. Now I have had this system built within my business for a very long time, but I have it so dialed in right now. It's amazing. But even from a client based perspective. So I mentioned that, yeah, I do have work I need to do. I don't say that my entire business uh, is on autopilot because it's not. I work damn hard. But with my client work, what I did is I had set some pre, set up expectations for the new clients of when things would be completed and I sent them their content before I left and I made sure my team had tasks to do while I was away so that when I came back, I'm now able to dive in.

Speaker B: Okay.

Speaker A: Huh. So I want you to imagine this for yourself. You take a few days off, you come back to new subscribers, you go to a, ah, wedding and your content still shows up. You skip posting for a week and you still get direct messages, you still get leads, you still get booked calls, you get to live your life and your brand keeps doing the heavy lifting. This is not just about marketing whatsoever. I love marketing. That's what I do. That is what my agency is all about. But from a, uh, entrepreneur to entrepreneur, CEO to CEO, it's about freedom. The kind of freedom that makes your business feel fun again, not frantic. And that's why I've created all of my online programs to teach more people this aspect. Because honestly this is once you learn this shit, this is honestly some of the most powerful stuff that you can implement into your business. And it all starts with K, who are you talking to? Who do you actually want to work with? And this is the foundational stuff that I really dive into with my clients. It's not just a matter of, okay, yeah, here's your marketing plan. It's like, no, let's get really, really specific on who we're talking about. Like nailing your niche. Nail that dream clients. Create a brand that people remember and actually buy from. Set up your social media to attract the right people, map out the content that turns followers into clients really damn fast and then automate the whole lead generation side of things so that all you have to focus on is showing up to your booked appointments or delivering the content, depending on if you're selling online programs or if you're doing service for someone. Now I want you to win with this system. I want you to be able to take a week off without feeling overwhelmed or guilty or coming back and feeling like you just missed out on a whole week of work, or you lost out on money, or you lost out on clients or whatever the case is, whatever excuses. And I can tell you, after a decade of doing this and being in that mindset of I have to work, work, work, work, work, it's not fun, it's exhausting. And being able to lie on the beach and actually read a book for once. And this is actually kind of embarrassing to say reading a book for once is like, actually what happened to me. Uh, and it. I didn't even. I think I maybe read three chapters because going to an all inclusive with two kids is. It's fun, not relaxing. Okay, I'll put it that way. But I read. I started a book that wasn't personal development or focused around business growth for the first time since. I'm, um, pretty sure the last actual book I read was 50 shades of gray. And I think that was like 2014. I googled it because I was very curious how long it's actually been. But I started reading a book and it was so nice. And even Sunday, when I got home from Mexico, instead of working and jumping on my computer, which I felt like I needed to, I decided to not do that. And I actually just picked up the book, read it in bed and went to sleep. And it was so nice. But the whole reason why I could do that is because I have my systems. I have my systems. So if you are wondering how I set this up, what I've done is I have put together a new program. It's not even a program, it's a guide. Don't know why it's a program, but it's a new guide. I called it the 10K lead machine. It walks you through three systems to start generating high quality leads, um, online without posting every single day. I will put that in the show notes for you. I want you to check that out. That will help you start implementing this. But also if you are stuck on how to do this, and if you're like, I can never take a week off like you just did, Lisa, I want you to send me a message because there's definitely things that we can set up for you. Send me a message on social media, send me an email. I don't care. Wherever you want to contact me, reach out. Because you deserve this and I don't want you to have to wait a decade before you actually read a book again, before you went on a trip to actually relax, before you Felt okay to take a step back, because, honestly, it's needed. And I'm coming back after this trip to Mexico, after my life has been so damn chaotic, feeling inspired. I have new ideas for myself, for my clients, new things I'm implementing. And you can't come up with these new ideas and find that fun again when you are so in the weeds? The systems helped you with it all. And I mentioned before I wrap up today, I mentioned that I found the key to this when I started implementing what I do for my own clients. And I mentioned that you always put your own stuff last. That also shifted for me. I'm, uh, not putting myself in my business last anymore. If I have something set up for my clients, you better believe I have it set up for myself. And you should do that, too. So whatever it is that you're doing, if you're coaching, if you're consulting, if you're a personal trainer, if you're a mortgage agent, whatever it is that you are doing, make sure that you have the same system set up for yourself. One, you will reap the benefits. Obviously, uh, your clients do, so you will. But two, you are living proof of what you are pushing out into the world is actually going to help someone transform their life. Okay? So again, grab that guy that I put together, the 10K lead machine. Grab one of my courses. If you need help implementing this, send me a message. But start building a brand that works for you while you don't, because your business shouldn't fall apart every single time you take a break. So let's fix that together. All right, I'll catch you next week. Have a fantastic day. Remember, you're running a business. You're a CEO. You're not an influencer. I'll see you then. So that's a wrap on today's episode

Speaker B: of More Than Social, where we keep it real, keep it honest, and keep growing together. If today hit home, can you do me a favor? Please screenshot this episode, tag me, share it with the entrepreneurs in your world who need to hear it, too. You never know who's waiting for a reminder that they're not alone in this journey.
