Five dimensions, 20 points each
Anne Bachrach, The Accountability Coach, challenges entrepreneurs to confront their focus problem rather than blame time scarcity. The core argument is that the gap between goals and results lives in your calendar - entrepreneurs waste time on low-payoff activities, perfectionism, and avoidance behavior disguised as strategy. Bachrach provides a framework addressing seven specific leverage points: treating time like oxygen through calendar protection, distinguishing motion from momentum, making inaction more costly than action, delegating outcomes (not just tasks) with systems, compressing goals to one 90-day dominant objective, engineering focus through non-negotiable rituals like no-email-before-11-a.m. blocks and weekly CEO time, and shifting identity language from "trying" to "I am a disciplined leader." The episode includes a comprehensive Laser Focus Audit Worksheet with quantifiable diagnostics: calculating the percentage of time on revenue-driving activities, measuring the annual cost of distractions, exposing procrastination delays, identifying delegation candidates, and establishing new focus standards. This is actionable for founders, executives, and entrepreneurs struggling with delegation, procrastination, or scattered priorities.
Motion is busy activity that feels productive but doesn't move you toward your #1 priority - like checking messages, reworking proposals, or saying yes to every opportunity. Momentum is high-payoff work directly advancing your goals. Laser focus requires ruthlessly eliminating motion and doing less, better.
Without effective day-to-day systems and delegation in your business, it can cost up to 20-30% of your annual revenue. Every task you keep that someone else could own is time stolen from vision, strategy, and growth.
Ask instead: 'What is this delay costing me every single month?' When the cost of procrastination becomes clear - lost revenue, lost confidence, lost momentum, lost competitive advantage - action becomes inevitable.
The episode asks you to identify your specific top 3 activities that directly drive revenue or strategic growth, then audit how many hours you actually spent on them last week. The gap reveals where your time is leaking.
Delegating like a CEO means delegating outcomes with clear expectations, training, and systems that allow others to win without constant supervision. Control-freak delegation is keeping tasks you should hand off because you believe "it's faster if I do it myself."
Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.
The episode is almost entirely platitudes and rehashed productivity advice with minimal novel insight. Seven broad principles (raise time standards, stop confusing motion with progress, delegate, etc.) are stated repeatedly without depth, evidence, or counterargument. The core claims - focus is better than distraction, delegation scales businesses, procrastination is costly - are axiomatic and widely known. No substantive data, framework refinement, or non-obvious pattern-matching appears.
You don't have a time problem. You have a focus problem.
Being busy feels productive. It gives you a dopamine hit. However, busy is often sophisticated procrastination.
This is textbook productivity boilerplate recycled from decades of management literature (Covey, Drucker, etc.). Identity-based habit formation, time blocking, delegation as leverage, and procrastination-as-emotion-avoidance are standard frameworks circulating everywhere. No contrarian argument, first-principles critique, or unexpected angle differentiates this from 10,000 other focus-and-discipline podcasts.
Stop saying: 'I'm trying to be more focused.' That language keeps the old identity alive.
Identity drives behavior.
This is not a guest episode; it is the host (Anne Bachrach, a self-described 'Accountability Coach') delivering a monologue. No practitioner, founder, or operator with operating experience at scale is present to ground claims in real business context or offer contrasting perspectives. The episode is purely didactic coaching material.

The episode contains almost no named examples, real data, or concrete evidence. One vague data point - 'without effective day-to-day systems in your business, it can cost up to 20-30% of your annual revenue' - is cited without source. No case studies, company names, revenue figures, or quantified outcomes support any claim. The 'worksheet' at the end is a template for self-reflection, not evidence of results.
Did you know that without effective day-to-day systems in your business, it can cost up to 20-30% of your annual revenue?
What percentage of your time was actually spent on revenue-driving or strategic activities? ______ %
There is no conversation. The entire episode is a monologue with rhetorical questions, imperatives, and self-promotional links. No guest to push back, no interviewer to probe, no disagreement or tension. The host asks questions ('Are you ready?') but never engages with real answers or objections. This is a sermon, not a dialogue.

Let’s get uncomfortable for a moment. You don’t have a time problem. You have a focus problem. Successful entrepreneurs don’t fail because they lack intelligence, opportunity, or resources. They fail to hit their biggest goals in the time frame they desire because they tolerate distractions. They tolerate busy work. They tolerate doing way too many activities they should have delegated. And tolerance is killing your speed. You say you want to scale. You say you want freedom. You say you want your ideal business and ideal life. Then why are you still answering emails at 9:30 p.m.? Why are you personally handling tasks a $20-$25/hour assistant could own? Why are you “researching” instead of executing? Let’s call it what it is. It’s not strategy. It’s avoidance. When you want to achieve your goals faster, both professionally and personally, you must become ruthless about your focus. Let’s explore seven areas that you need to consider changing starting today. Now, I’d like to share an exercise to help you with being even more laser focused. You can also find this exercise on my website under my blog posts. LASER FOCUS AUDIT WORKSHEET Stop Wasting Time. Start Accelerating Results.

Laser-Focused Leaders Win. Distracted Leaders Struggle. Choose.
Raise Your Standards Around Time High-level entrepreneurs treat time like oxygen. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. When your calendar is filled with reactive tasks, low-payoff activities, and unnecessary meetings, you are broadcasting one thing to yourself and your team: “My time is not valuable.” And when you don’t value your time, no one else will.
Laser-focused leaders decide in advance what deserves their energy. They block time for high-payoff activities (HPAs). They protect it. They defend it.
They execute in it. Ask yourself: · What are the 3 activities that directly drive revenue or strategic growth? · How many hours did you spend last week on those activities? · What distracted you?
The gap between your goals and your results is almost always found in your calendar. 2. Stop Confusing Motion with Progress Being busy feels productive. It gives you a dopamine hit.
However, busy is often sophisticated procrastination. Checking messages. Tweaking the website. Rewriting a proposal for the third time.
Saying yes to every possible opportunity. That’s movement. Not momentum. Laser focus requires elimination.
Before adding anything new, ask: · Does this activity directly move me toward my #1 priority? · If I say yes to this, what must I say no to? · Is this urgent… or just loud? The highest performers are not masters of doing more.
They are masters of doing less and doing less better. 3. Make Procrastination Too Painful to Continue Procrastination is not laziness. It’s emotional management.
You delay: · The difficult conversation. · The strategic hire. · The bold marketing move. · The systems upgrade.
Because it feels uncomfortable. So, here’s the truth: the longer you delay, the more expensive it becomes. · Lost revenue. · Lost confidence.
· Lost momentum. · Lost competitive advantage. High performers flip the equation. They make inaction more painful than action.
Instead of asking, “What if this fails?” Ask, “What is this delay costing me every single month?” When the cost of procrastination becomes clear, action becomes inevitable. 4.
Delegate Like a CEO - Not Like a Control Freak If you’re still the bottleneck in your business, you are choosing it. Yes, delegating requires: · Clear expectations · Training · Patience · Systems And so does staying small. Entrepreneurs often say: “It’s faster if I just do it myself.” Every task you keep that someone else could own is time stolen from your vision, strategy, and your growth.
Laser-focused leaders delegate outcomes, not just tasks. They build systems that allow others to win without constant supervision. Did you know that without effective day-to-day systems in your business, it can cost up to 20-30% of your annual revenue? When you want freedom, scalability, and faster goal achievement, delegation is not optional.
It is required. Download my Free Delegation Exercise to help you identify even more activities to delegate, by going to https://bit.ly/Delegation-Exercise . 5.
Narrow Your Goals to Accelerate Your Results Here’s another uncomfortable truth: You are most likely working to achieve too much at once. · More offers. · More marketing channels. · More partnerships.
· More initiatives. Scattered focus produces scattered results. Clarity creates velocity. What if you committed to ONE dominant goal for the next 90 days?
· One primary business objective. · One primary personal objective. · And everything else either supported it, got cut, got delegated, or delayed. Intensity over time creates breakthroughs.
Diffusion creates mediocrity. Laser focus is about concentration of energy. And energy, when directed consistently, becomes unstoppable. 6.
Install Non-Negotiable Focus Rituals Willpower can be unreliable. Rituals are powerful. When you want to stop wasting time, you must design your environment and schedule for focus. Some examples might include: · No email before 11 a.
m. · 90-minute high payoff work time blocks daily. · Weekly CEO time for strategy. · Clear delegation meetings.
· End-of-day shutdown and prepare for the next day routine. Laser focus isn’t accidental. It’s engineered. And when you don’t intentionally design your week, distractions will design it for you.
7. Upgrade Your Identity This is the deepest shift of all. Stop saying: · “I’m trying to be more focused.” · “I’m trying to stop procrastinating.
” That language keeps the old identity alive. Instead, decide by saying something like: “I am a decisive, disciplined, high-performance leader.” Identity drives behavior. When you see yourself as someone who follows through, delegates effectively, and protects their time, your actions align with that standard.
The entrepreneurs who achieve goals in the time frame they desire don’t operate from hope. They operate from identity and discipline (good habits ). The Real Question If nothing changes in the next 12 months, where will you be? Still busy?
Still stretched? Still saying “next quarter”? Or will you decide that your time, energy, and potential deserve more? Focus is a choice.
Delegation is a decision. Execution is a habit. And your goals are waiting for your next level of discipline. Clarity creates power.
Focus creates speed. And disciplined execution creates your results. Now the only question left is: Are you ready to raise your standards so you can achieve your professional and personal goals in the timeframe you desire? Ready to Accelerate the achievement of your results?
When you are serious about: · Eliminating procrastination · Delegating more effectively · Staying laser focused on high-payoff activities · Achieving your goals faster in both business and life Then let’s talk. Schedule a complimentary Success Call and let’s identify exactly where your time is leaking and what must change, so you can create your ideal business and ideal life, faster than you might have thought possible.
