Krista Mashore demonstrates the practical workflow for voice cloning using 11 Labs, the platform she calls the gold standard for AI voice replication. The core process requires uploading 2 hours of audio (which can be repurposed from existing podcast or video content) to train the AI model, paying $22/month for the Creator plan to access custom voice creation at the highest quality. Key technical details include using professional microphones (like Shure), recording in quiet acoustic environments, and adjusting stability, speed, and similarity sliders in 11 Labs' text-to-speech playground to fine-tune how the clone sounds. Mashore emphasizes that this is a one-time investment in training the voice that then automates content production indefinitely. She pairs 11 Labs with HeyGen (an AI video avatar platform) to create fully autonomous marketing versions of herself. The episode targets solopreneurs and business owners who spend excessive time on repetitive recording - Mashore shares her own example of spending weeks recording an audiobook, which 11 Labs compressed to 10 minutes of initial voice training plus script generation.

Key takeaways

  • →11 Labs' Creator plan at $22/month provides the highest-quality voice clone by training on 2 hours of your audio, which can be sourced from existing podcast or video content rather than new recordings.
  • →Professional microphone quality and acoustic room treatment directly impact voice clone accuracy, with stability/similarity sliders in the text-to-speech playground allowing fine-tuning of how dynamic or consistent the clone sounds.
  • →Pairing 11 Labs voice clones with HeyGen video avatars creates fully automated AI versions of yourself that can produce marketing content without your real-time involvement.
  • →The 2-hour voice training investment is a one-time effort that enables indefinite automated content production, making it cost-effective compared to hiring videographers, talent, or spending weeks in recording studios.
  • →11 Labs' verification process (2-6 hours) legally confirms you own the voice being cloned, protecting both you and other users from unauthorized voice replication.

Questions this episode answers

How much audio do I need to record to create a voice clone in 11 Labs?

11 Labs recommends 2 hours of audio for the highest-quality clone, though you can repurpose existing podcast, video, or long-form content instead of recording new material. Minimum 30 minutes is acceptable, but 2 hours provides the best results.

What's the difference between stability, speed, and similarity settings in 11 Labs?

Speed controls how fast or slow the voice sounds, stability controls how much enthusiasm or variation the clone expresses (with 'robust' being consistent and 'creative' being more dynamic), and similarity controls how closely it matches your actual voice sample.

How long does it take for 11 Labs to approve and process a voice clone?

The verification process takes between 2 and 6 hours after you submit your audio, during which 11 Labs confirms it's actually your voice being cloned as a legal safeguard.

Can I use my existing podcast audio to train my 11 Labs voice clone?

Yes, Mashore recommends uploading long-form audio from existing podcasts or videos instead of recording new 2-hour sessions, as she successfully did with her own podcast content.

How do I integrate a 11 Labs voice clone with HeyGen to create an AI video avatar?

Download your generated voice file from 11 Labs as MP3 or WAV, log into HeyGen, select photo-to-video, upload your photo, choose your layout (portrait/landscape/square), and import the voice file to sync with your AI avatar.

Our reviewer’s read on each dimension, with quotes from the episode.

Insight Density

5 / 20

The episode is almost entirely a step-by-step UI walkthrough of ElevenLabs that any user could find in the product's own documentation; the only mildly non-obvious tip is repurposing existing podcast audio instead of recording fresh. There is significant filler, self-promotion, and repetition that crowds out substantive content in a 9-minute runtime.

My team actually uploaded two hours of audio from my podcast and submitted that, and it worked really, really well.
I found that the more robust the settings kept my voice closest to my natural sound.

Originality

3 / 20

Zero contrarian or first-principles thinking; the episode recycles generic 'entrepreneurial mindset' framing and presents a standard product tutorial as if it were proprietary insight. Nothing here challenges existing assumptions or offers a framework a B2B operator couldn't find on ElevenLabs' own help page.

11 Labs is the gold standard for AI voice cloning.
That's the entrepreneurial mindset that you need to have.

Guest Caliber

4 / 20

Solo host presenting as a practitioner, but the episode functions primarily as an affiliate-driven product walkthrough; credibility claims are self-asserted and unverified, and the content does not reflect deep operational expertise that would benefit a B2B operator.

Specificity & Evidence

7 / 20

A handful of concrete details exist - pricing ($22/month), recording duration benchmarks (30 min minimum, 2 hours optimal), verification time (2 - 6 hours), and a named mic brand - but there are no business outcome metrics, conversion data, or scale evidence to ground the ROI claims.

Conversational Craft

3 / 20

This is a scripted solo monologue with no interview dynamic whatsoever; there are no probing questions, no pushback, and the flow is repeatedly broken by affiliate link plugs and subscribe prompts rather than intellectual follow-through.

What if I told you that you can clone your voice just like this? Hi, I'm Krista Mayshore, and I'd like to show you how to clone your own voice using 11 labs. Sounds just like me, right? Because it is.

And today I'm going to show you how you can clone your voice using 11 labs and make it sound just like you. Nice. I'm not going to tell you how to do it. I'm actually going to walk you through the entire process step by step right here, right now.

I'm Krista Mayshore, top 1% coach, multi-eight-figure business owner. Over the past few years, I've invested over $100,000 learning how the top 1% are using AI to stay seen and scale without the stress. Listen, I recently created an AI video clone of myself using a platform called Haygen, but to make it actually sound like me, like literally sound like me, like I just showed you, I needed to pair it with an AI voice clone that I built in 11 labs. And when you combine those two tools together, you get a fully automated AI version of yourself that can show up for your audience and market your business even when you're not in the room.

You're on vacation or sleeping or something cool like that. Now, if you've missed my last video where I broke down, hey, Jen, go back and watch that video or click the link below in the description so you can see that. But today, we're going to deep dive on 11 Labs and how you can create a voice clone that sounds and represents you and your brand. 11 Labs is the gold standard for AI voice cloning.

It's a software that can replicate your voice so accurately that your audience won't be able to tell the difference. Well, at least to me it isn't. It sounds like me. It also has a full library of pre-built voices of different genders, ages, accents, and energy levels that you can use right out of the box.

Okay, so let's get into it. First, open up your computer. You're going to go to 11labs.com.

So when you go to 11labs, you literally type in a script, Hey, I'm Krista's AI clone. Then you choose your voice and it speaks and looks just like you. Kind of like this. Here's an example.

Hey, I'm Krista's AI clone. Sounds just like me, right? You can even control the tone and the enthusiasm but here where it gets really good For those of us who want to show up authentically I highly recommend using this because it saves you so much time For example I once had to record an audio book for my book and I thought I was going to finish this thing in a day or two. It took me weeks and weeks because I had to go all the way to the studio every single day, which is about 45 minutes away, sit in traffic, and then it took me way longer than I thought.

I was exhausted. I was there for entire full days, and I would never do that again. And so I just used 11 labs and it recorded my entire book for me. And guess what?

It only took me about 10 minutes of me speaking and letting it get to know my voice. So now let's talk about the investment because yes, this has a cost. The basic plan gives you access to custom voice creation. But if you want the highest quality clone, the one that actually truly represents you and your profession, you are going to want the creator plan, which is $22 a month.

And is it worth it? It's absolutely worth it. When you think about what it costs to actually produce content, to hire talent, to hire videographers and spend hours of yourself recording over and over again, $22 is actually nothing. So now let's see, does this actually deliver results?

P.S. I have a direct link to purchase 11 Labs in the link below in the description. Of course, there's an affiliate link on there.

You'll see if any of you use it. But here's what nobody's telling you up front to get the voice clone possible. 11 Labs recommends recording yourself speaking for up to two hours. Yes, two hours.

I know you're thinking, Krista, that seems like so much. But think about it. You are making a one-time investment of your time so that your AI voice can work for you forever. That's the entrepreneurial mindset that you need to have.

I'm going to be very honest with you. This part was a challenge for me. Talking for two hours straight, staying on brand, and keeping my energy consistent. But I committed to it because I knew that excellence requires effort.

And if you want a voice clone that actually sounds like you and represents your business at the highest level, you need to put in the work up front. And here's a great tip. My team actually uploaded two hours of audio from my podcast and submitted that, and it worked really, really well. So if you already have long-form audio content, maybe from a podcast or from videos you've done or from anything else, you can actually repurpose that instead of recording two new hours.

So set yourself up for success. Get comfortable and treat it like a content creation session because in a way that exactly what it is So I going to go over four pro tips for your recording setup Number one use a professional mic recording equipment if you have it For example I use the Shure mic and it doesn really matter what type of mic you use. Just make sure that it's very, very professional. You want it to sound really, really good so your voice is clear and precise and it actually sounds like you.

Number two, record in a quiet, noise-free environment, turn off your air conditioning, and close the door. If possible, if you've got some kind of a podcast room where it's got sound capturing things, record it in there. It'll give you much better output. Number three, a carpeted or acoustic treated room is best, just like I just said, if you can.

And number four, record at least 30 minutes minimum, two hours for the very best results. Those are my four tips. Now, the next step is setting up your voice profile. When setting up your voice in 11 Labs, you'll name your voice clone and you'll describe it.

Think about your brand voice. Are you high energy or maybe warm and conversational? Make sure to find that before you start because it will help guide you and you can also adjust the settings later. So after you submit your audio, 11 labs will verify your voice.

This is an important legal safeguard. They require you to confirm that it's your voice that you're actually cloning. This is a good thing. It protects you and everyone else.

The process takes being two and six hours. So submit it, go run your business, do your errands, and then you can come back later. Your AI virus is going to be ready to go and ready to go to work for you. Once your voice is uploaded and approved, next we'll be testing and adjusting your clone.

Once your voice clone is ready, you'll test it by generating a speech from a written script. Now, let's walk through this together. You're going to go to 11labs.com.

So go to your computer, pull up your tabs, and go to 11labs.com. And remember, if you don't have 11labs yet, the link will be in the description. So once you click on text to speech, this little sidebar over here is going to show up.

And then you can see, you can toggle between speed, stability, similarity. Now, here's the thing. It's going to come with pre-done suggestions. Try to leave it at that unless it totally doesn't sound like you.

The speed is like, okay, how quick or slow do you want yourself to actually sound, right? The stability is how much enthusiasm that you going to be having And similarity is how similar do you want it to sound like you So you most likely want to keep it like this Unless you try it and test it it doesn And you can toggle from each of those things and make some adjustments until it actually sounds more like you. So on the left-hand side where you see Playground, click on the text-to-speech.

And then once you click on text-to-speech, you're going to click on stability on that right-hand side. Now with this setting, the slider is going to come up and you can actually toggle or change the setting. You want to keep it at least 50% creative, which means more dynamic, takes more liberties, and robust, which means more consistent, stay closer to your actual sample of what you sound like. So play with it.

Run multiple generations. Listen critically. You're looking for the version that best captures your authentic voice and rant. I found that the more robust the settings kept my voice closest to my natural sound.

The creative settings added a little too much variation for my taste, but you might find something different and that's totally fine. The goal is to find what represents you best that you fucking like, then it actually sounds like you. Oh, and by the way, if you're getting tired from this, go ahead and hit the like and subscribe button. And remember, if you don't have an account yet for 11 Labs or Hagen, I dropped my signup link in the description below so you can actually create one.

And yes, I have an affiliate relationship with them. Okay, so let's keep going. Once you have a voice clone you love, you bring it into Hagen, and here's exactly how you do it. Now you're going to go to your computer and you're going to go back to your 11 Labs account.

You're going to go to your voice library and you're going to select cloned voice. You're going to type or paste the script that you actually want your AI avatar to say. Type in something, hey, I'm teaching people how to create their AI voice and clone using HeyGen and 11 Labs. And then you just click generate.

You listen back and you just make sure it sounds like you. Hey, I'm teaching people how to create their AI voice and clone using HeyGen and 11 Labs. And once you're happy with it, you like the way it sounds, and just hit download. And then you're going to save the auto file and it will download as an MP3 or a WAV file.

Log into Hagen. You're going to go to Hagen and you're going to log into your account. From the dashboard, you're going to click photo to video. You're going to drag a photo over to this area.
