Episode notes
I rarely take time off (I know, I know...not ok). But I realized recently, I was nearing burnout! Why now? Thankfully, I'm not juggling the same intense global work hours - yet I was nearing exhaustion. And then it hit me - I may not be working global hours on the job, but I was starting to feel "on" 24/7 nonetheless. And that's when it hit me how much stress I've been under due to the trifecta of elder care, work and family obligations. So, I'm doing a mini-series of sorts. In this episode of Suits & Pajamas , I’m digging deeper on the caregiving side...the politicized crisis—especially in Black and Brown communities. We’ll talk about the consequences of our parents not preparing for retirement, the emotional and financial toll of eldercare, and the political threat being made against my parents (and many of yours). You’ll hear real-world stats, race-specific insights, and why Social Security and Medicare—already lifelines for so many—are now under political threat. I’ll also share actionable tips, resources, and a reminder that you’re not alone, even if it feels like you're doing it all.
